It's Fall. (Updated). 2006-10-14 01:57:47 In my last post I added a link for Jeff Sanders - the singer in the band North of Here who I play for when I can. Well, when I went to their website the only thing showing was this verse:
“Arise shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:1-3
I had no idea the site was being updated but that verse is exactly what I was looking for! Now that’s awesome! (Read my previous post and you’ll understand).
It's Fall. (And this is depressing). 2006-10-14 01:54:21 It’s Fall alright…the air is cooler, the sky is darker, and town fairs/festivals are in full-gear. This time of year brings back a lot of memories of my past. I remember listening to David Crowder’s new cd a year ago…I still find it hard to put down at times. I remember my good buddy Jason winning Third Day tickets a year ago and taking me with him to see the show. What a great show that was in Jax. I remember college beginning to have it’s exams this time of year and realizing that I’m really growing up and I only live once. I remember traveling a year ago a lot and feeling alone at times. I love Fall, I love the cooler air, yet something about it is dark to me. That may sound odd, but it’s just how I feel. A close friend of mine lost her father this time of year about 5-6 years ago. It’s something I’ll never forget - I was 19. It was devastating to her, her family, the community, as well as me - recently the community I live in ha Read more:depressing
She's back! 2006-10-03 04:46:24 Kara got back into town tonight. Actually, she’s not even back yet and it’s 10:24pm. Her flight just landed in Jax. Usually it’s me landing at 10:30pm from Nashville. She’s been gone since Friday and I only saw her for about 15 minutes that day. So, since she was out of town, I decided to skip town myself over the weekend to see my family. It’s always good to see them, but this time it felt strange. You see, Kara was back in her home town going to a class reunion and was practically organizing it…and I was at home with my family being a bum and seeing my good buddy Jason. Well, I knew that if I called her I would be keeping her from getting things ready for the weekend and seeing all her past friends from high school. Usually she’s just a phone call away, but this weekend I didn’t want to bug her, so it was weird. I can’t wait until I see her…I was able to get stuff done over the weekend, but honestly I wasn’t as lively

I still like it. I just need a place to use it…
Killer Boots Man… 2006-09-24 06:45:14 I think that’s what you say to Harley Bikers if you see one to be cool. But, in my case, this weekend I rode a different kind of bike…my mountain bike all around the island with Kara. Actually, this was my first time riding around St. Simon’s on a bike since I’ve lived here! It was beautiful to ride down the streets I’ve only driven down - you see a whole lot more than you do when driving. I believe this activity will be done as much as possible while it’s still warm outside.

Re:vamp 2006-09-18 20:47:57 I could use this blog entry title as a pun on words having to do something with next month’s Halloween and vampires…but I’ll spare you this time! I’ve had a lot of revamping lately of websites. The first and most important is the site at work. We are looking for a complete makeover and have been for a while now. I’m just now building it because it’s been pretty slow lately of other projects that I’m working on. We’re still going to use the same Coldfusion, same dB, same everything, except the look will not be the same…but it will still be familiar. The second site is the churches’ site. This one doesn’t take as much design work really, but more team work to get stuff put up on the site such as text, media files, and a few graphics here and there. The third site is a site for a wedding planner here in town. Basically I’ll be updating the site I built for her with photos, text, links, etc. All of these updates take t

(You can’t tell really, but this is a giant headstock of a Gibson guitar from the Gibson Guitar shop at OpryMills in Nashville. It’ so big, I could see it from Kara’s backyard)
Last time flying…for now. 2006-09-08 20:34:31 Here I am at the Jax Airport waiting for my flight to Nashville. This will be my last flight for a while…a good while to Nashville (unless I get that record deal…ha). This weekend Kara is moving and I’m flying up to help her and her family pack up her stuff. Tomorrow we will get up and I’ll drive the uHaul and she’ll drive her car. It’ll be a long drive, but it’ll be worth every mile. This morning I woke up and went skim boarding. I’m not too sure why, this day has only been busy. After skimming I went and got the keys to her new place so we can move in on Sunday. Then I headed home, cleaned my place up a bit, took a shower and didn’t sit down for 5 minutes before my Mom knocked on the door. We got some lunch and then she drove me to the airport.
“What? Your Mom drove you to the airport?”
Yup, she did. There’s no point in me leaving my car and paying money to park while I’m gone, just to drive back down to Ja
Has it been that long? 2006-10-23 21:57:12 Well, it’s been 10 days to be honest since I’ve updated this blog. A lot can happen in 10 days which has kept me too busy to update this, but now I’m back and ready to type-away. You may be asking, so what’s happened lately. Well, let’s see…
I’ve been putting together a budget for a video ministry. Putting together a budget isn’t something that’s easy. Sure, it’s easy to look at all kinds of new gadgets and camera’s, etc and price it all out. But when it’s for a non-profit organization, a church, my church, you have to be good stewards of your money. (I’ve also been taking a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace course which is awesome and I’ve cut up some plastic because of that man). When budgeting I wanted to think of everything we’d need for what we need to do and to expand what we have, but I also thought of everything we didn’t need but allowed us to still do what we need to do - if that makes s

Concert! 2006-11-10 17:30:44 Well, I’ve realized that I’ve seen Third Day 3 times in 1 year! Let’s re-cap…
Last November 2005 - Jason wins 2 free tickets to see Third Day in Jax at a special ‘only 500 allowed’ show.
Last April 2006 - Jason and I go see the boys up in their stomping grounds in downtown ATL at The Fox. We also scored free backstage passes from a nice couple. Our seats were in the very back row on the ground floor, but another nice couple handed up their tickets which were on the 9th row up front.
Last Night November 2006 - Kara and I drive down to Jax (after she rode in the same plane as Mac Powell and sat next to a Hyperstatic Union singer on the flight). Unfortunately no backstage passes were given away, but we were on the 13th row floor.
David Crowder Band was good, quirky, but good. They had a fill-in guitar player, he looked like Shane and Shane’s electric guitar player when I saw them a year ago. Hyperstatic Union was more for the kids…really fun Read more:Concert
Less is more. 2006-11-16 15:01:12 Well, I’ve come to a point in my drumming where I’ve realized that I’ve got a few things that I really don’t need anymore. For instance, I’ve got 5 snare drums?! 5! Why do I have five? I’m really not sure, but I decided to sell one of them. Basically I only use 1 of them at church and wherever I play so I really don’t need 4 ‘backup’ snare drums sitting in my apartment collecting dust. So, if you’re looking for a really, really nice drum then take a peak here.
Not only am I selling one of my drums (something I thought I’d never do), I also cancelled my cable last night. Yup, looking back I’ve been paying so many dollars a month for cable (basic cable - and that’s still not cheap), but I’m hardly ever at home. And when I am home, I never watch tv! So why am I throwing away this money? Part of me thinks it was because everyone MUST have cable, so I will shell out the cash each month so I too can have it.
Sold! To the winning bidder! 2006-11-23 18:21:11 Well, I sold my first drum ever. Actually, I've sold a few of my older drumsets, but never a drum workshop. The auction ended last night. All in all, eBay is a pretty neat place to sell stuff. Honestly, I didn't think it would sell this fast if at all. I guess they are right, whatever IT is, eBay has it.
On another beat (pun intended), check out this video. It's from a Third Day show and they are performing "Cry Out to Jesus'. When it gets to the bridge of the song that says, "when you're lonely and it feels like the whole world is FALLING on you' check out the drummer, he's on the right-hand side of the stage. In this instance the song becomes a reality…
Crook's Transmission. 2006-11-30 16:46:20 Sorry for the lack of updates as of late. It seems that my friend David Herndon has written more about me than I’ve written about me…so it must be time to catch up! Life has been busy this week. I’ve been doing a good bit of filming for The Chapel’s member’s banquet for this Sunday. I’ve also got to film my alter-ego ‘Michael Bolton’ for this Sunday too. Kara and I have also dealt with her car being broke and dealing with a transmission shop that should be re-named ‘Crook

’ because that he was…a crook, and we’ve got 2 other people that have had the same experience. We were finally able to get her car one night from Crook’s Transmission and drive it over to Nissan and my heart was pounding the entire way thinking it would break down again (it miraculously cranked and drove all the way to Nissan from 341…of course when I drove it 2 weeks ago, it broke down every 5 minutes on I-95R
At home and tired. 2006-12-24 01:47:41 Well, as the holidays draw closer and closer it’s so much easier for life to get busier and busier. So far every minute of it has been awesome…from helping make candy with Kara, to office parties, to holiday shopping and listening to that Christmas jazz in my car. Yesterday my friend’s Suzanne and Carter had their second baby, a boy! I’m so happy for them and it reminds me of how amazing life is.
After going to see the newborn I ran a few errands and met up with Kara at her place and we went out to eat at Bonefish. If you’ve never been, then go soon! If you have been, then try to save back a few bucks and go again! It’s turned me into liking fish. After getting a mocha and driving back in the rain we decided to open our presents for each other. Well, then we remembered we forgot to go by our preacher Jay’s house. So, we headed back out and had a great time relaxing with them for a while. We finally opened our presents and I must say that Kara Read more:tired
Holidays. 2006-12-29 01:39:45 Well, I remember a few years back it seemed like I’d get just about an entire month off from college to come home and relax, travel, see friends, and spend time with family. Ever since graduating, that month has turned into just about 1 week. Last year I spent my week in Mississippi on a mission trip on the coast. It was awesome and I vowed to myself I would go back and knock down more walls and eat at God’s Kitchen. Well, this year I spent the week at home but ended up doing more work stuff than anything else really. Actually, it felt really strange to have just a few days of relaxing. I haven’t taken a day off work since October, so this Christmas break has been great for me even though I am doing work, it feels good to do it at home. Here’s a screenshot of what I’ve been doing…
Also, while waiting for some video to render, I came across this article at cnn.com. Looks like Apple had more than they could handle. Speaking of, my girl got me the new Read more:Holidays
