Guerilla ontologists unite!
2007-06-19 00:50:00
So I changed the name/focus of the blog again - inspired by RA Wilson, of course. The links now are mostly going to be lyrics to songs I've written, plus links to portals for what I feel are important topics, all kept on my server. The blog is to be a record of thoughts, but also a work-in-progress of my top interests, hopefully to guide me towards something really important I need to do.That is to be seen.More soon.

Philip K Dick, Robert Anton Wilson, Terence McKenna, Daniel Pinchbeck plus
2007-06-15 03:39:00
So this is the first entry of Universe Repair. In personal news, I just finished reading Philip K. Dick's Valis, and before that, Robert Anton Wilson 's Prometheus Rising.Talk about two freaking incredible books. My wife and I recently took in the R A Wilson movie, Maybe Logic and that was fabulous as well.I intend to work on the rest of PKD's material (I own a ton), as well as Pinchbeck's Breaking Open the Head (really looking forward to that one) and the Terence McKenna catalog, as well (I have all the ebooks and I just haven't had a chance to get to them all yet). These materials will open your mind even further - I know they open mine.To the left of course is my newly-updated linkroll, some amazing artists are featured there (be sure to check them out). What's more and what's best is NO DEAD LINKS.Not many sites can say that.Keeping you organized for all your consciousness travels and psychonaut needs, this has been the first report of Universe Repair.Thanks--the editor

Pieces of Me (NOT the Ashlee Simpson version)
2007-06-20 07:37:00
I was frustrated this morning so I got up early and finished writing some songs. I think most of the titles for all of them are now in the linkroll to the left over there.I also got to thinking more about what I really like to do, why the fuck I'm here, and so on. Weird, frustrating stuff. Especially nicotine-free. Really freaking fun, all the time. But I'm here! The new Meat Puppets and Bad Religion albums were kind of disappointments, but hey everyone records a dud sometimes, right? It's so DIFFICULT to tell which songs are going to be that perfect mix of the artist loving it and the listener enjoying it as well.I will be covering "Pieces of Me" by the Meat Puppets, as well as maybe that great old Beach Boys tune "Vegetables" at my next show.. and possibly even a new Bad Religion song called "Lost Pilgrim" - one of the really great ones off the new album.

The wilderness outdoors
2007-06-29 03:53:00
So I'm going on a trip down the Saco river for a few days. Should be nice. Gonna miss the wife and son, though. It'll be nice to get outside for a while, though. I'm such a fucking homebody.More to come. No internet for 3 days! Woo!

Man, wild and child
2007-07-06 13:16:00
Just finally caught the latest Man vs. Wild. The show is so good.On my recent trip to the Saco river we kept talking about how Bear Grylls is the man. You learn so much from watching, and hey, he's just so goddamn badass. The one I just saw, he was in Iceland - tonight is the new one, I think he's in the outback or something. You owe it to yourself to check it out and see all the crazy shit Bear does.Had a good day with my son Jack today, he's currently in his Exersaucer 3 in 1. The thing is amazing! Evenflo outdid themselves. Also, my son has figured out how to make sounds by moving his hand across his mouth. Craaazy. I hope he walks and talks soon. He's spoiled. But he needs a high chair. Can almost sit, and crawl, and if I had my way, talking and walking.***Edit - the new Man vs. Wild IS in the Australian outback, just caught that one tonight, too. So damn good.

Ancient astronauts
2007-07-06 00:00:00
Oh yeah - I did see this really awesome episode of Is It Real the other night about "ancient astronauts " (I can't believe I just linked to Wikipedia - my arch enemies), or the theory that extraterrestrials assisted/bred with early humanity. Such a good theory. It's one of my favorites.A lot on ancient astronauts is here, and also at Legendary Times. I've listened to some of Zechariah Sitchin's stuff, it's prety good too, on the ancient Sumerians. There's so much we don't know.I'm also going to link here to a recent song of mine (woo) I call, ironically enough, "SSRIs". The things I tried to stop taking but I apparently still need. Check out the rest here.Been listening to a ton of Meat Puppets. Decided that this blog is to be my main one, for all my many interests.Should be good stuff.

Mental states
2007-07-05 23:57:00
Haven't felt like writing or doing much at all lately.Maybe it's because I stopped my antidepressants, foolishly. That was a couple weeks ago.We need money and we can't afford the goddamn prices of those things. So it was depression and such for the last few days.. I had been okay up until recently.Got back from the canoe trip, it was good. Missed the wife, although she doesn't believe me.Still trying to figure everything out. Working on a couple books. Pinpointing interests. It's a REAL fucking bitch.Working a bullshit job. Doesn't everything feel like a cycle? It's work, bills, no money for anything else. My wife and I have cut almost everything else out. It's fucking expensive to live. Has it always been this way? At least writing songs is still free.

Ku-BRICK!
2007-07-09 00:45:00
My wife and I attempted to watch 2001 : A Space Odyssey tonight, and couldn't do it.Too long, drawn out, slow, boring.. ug. Damn Kubrick.I did like some of the trippy parts at the end, though (I fast forwarded for key points).Who knows. I know it's a classic, but couldn't stomach it. So much classical music - again, yuck.My wife said the most interesting part of the movie was the freaking intro, with the apes. Hah.
