Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts… 2007-06-12 10:07:06 Global Warming, as we think we know it, doesn’t exist. And I am not the only one trying to make people open up their eyes and see the truth. But few listen, despite the fact that I was one of the first Canadian Ph.Ds. in Climatology and I have an extensive background in climatology, especially [...] Read more:Global Warming

An Inconvenient Fact… 2007-06-09 09:39:11 “Only an insignificant fraction of scientists deny the global warming crisis. The time for debate is over. The science is settled”-Al Gore, 1992
So, what does Al Gore consider an insignificant fraction? A Gallup poll of the same time of scientists involved in climate research reported that 53% believed global warming was not occurring, 30% didn’t [...]
Spinning The iRack… 2007-06-03 08:46:14 Supposedly Bush has lied to us about WMD’s in Iraq. Well, see for yourself, there were WMD’s in Iraq. Furthermore, how can Bush be blamed when many other, even Bill Clinton, made statements suggesting WMD’s in Iraq?

NASA Questions Global Warming… 2007-06-01 07:24:18 “I have no doubt that … a trend of global warming exists. I am not sure that it is fair to say that it is a problem we must wrestle with. To assume that it is a problem is to assume that the state of Earth’s climate today is the optimal climate, the best [...] Read more:Global

Doomsday Delayed… 2007-05-24 15:40:56 WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING?-A myth to be debunked
“The number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years.“
It has been “concluded” that global warming was behind the record 2005 hurricane season. So why was it that the 2006 hurricane season was so mild?

Disk Encryption In Feisty Fawn… 2007-05-17 18:42:17 I recently just encrypted my entire hard disk (200GB) in Feisty
Fawn, and now whatever I put on the drive is automatically encrypted. I used TrueCrypt to do this, and here I’ll explain how you can do the same. This method only works if you have an extra hard disk in your system, but you [...] Read more:Encryption

Moving To Switzerland… 2007-05-16 20:52:08 I wrote earlier about gun control, and then recently came upon the fact that in Switzerland
, every man is issued an assault rifle. In Switzerland, the crime rate is lower than it is in England, where handguns and most rifles are outlawed. If this doesn’t blow a hole in gun control, I don’t know what [...] Read more:Moving
Holes In Kyto… 2007-06-21 16:59:24 It used to be a common preaching point by environmentalists that the U.S. is the number one contributor of CO2, the greenhouse gas that is supposed to be the cause of human induced climate change, or global warming. That is no longer true, China has overtook us by 7.5%. The United States has received criticism [...] Read more:Holes
Changing The Climate Change Models… 2007-06-21 16:36:35 Climate change models are models that supposedly tell us what the effects of global warming will be. They work by collecting vast amounts of data from stations around the world, and then calculating what will happen (melting of glaciers, famine, etc) if the current trends continue.
For the models to work, all the data input has [...] Read more:Changing

OpenDNS… 2007-06-25 11:03:12 What Is DNS?
Imagine what happens when you enter an address in the address bar your browser of choice. Well, something happens, but what? The “internet” is really just a lot of networked computers that talk to each other. When you enter “TechyStuff.Info” in your address bar, you computer has to look on a DNS server to figure out where to find “TechyStuff.Info“. Look at it like this, you want to call John Doe, but don’t know his phone number, so you look in the phone book for his number. That is exactly what happens when you enter something in the address bar, your computer looks on your DNS server for the IP address. DNS servers take the domain name and turn that into an IP address, and then your computer starts talking to the server on that IP address.
What Is OpenDNS
?
OpenDNS is a service that allows you to use their DNS servers instead of your default ones. I changed to their servers, and I instantly noticed that pages load faster. On avera
Global (Solar System) Warming… 2007-06-29 11:47:55 Which is warmer, night or day?
What is the hottest part of day, and why?
Between Winter and Summer, which is the hottest, and why?
While those questions seemed so simple, they actually have a lot to do with Global
Warming. While some want you to believe Earth’s climate can be changed by the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere, I would advise you to stair at the sun for a few moments (not directly, as this may cause permanent eye damage. I would advise you to wear sunglasses as well).
You see how big the Sun is compared to Earth? Without the Sun, we would be experiencing some major global cooling!
A few hundred years ago the Sun was in a period known as the Maunder Minimum, for about seven decades there was nearly no sunspot activity. Coincidentally, Earth was in a period known as the Little Ice Age. So that past century, Earth has been warming because we have been getting back to normal, or just simply getting out of the Little Ice Age. The current warming trend is due to the Sun& Read more:Solar

A License To Kill… 2007-07-03 19:44:37 A license to kill is exactly what abortion is. Supposedly, it is the woman’s “right” to choose to kill an unborn child. What about our unalienable rights:Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (or the pursuit of all who threaten it, if you’re in the Navy)? Ah, the argument is that an unborn child [...] Read more:License
Alltray… 2007-07-03 10:50:27 Alltray is a great little program that allows you to minimize anything to the notification area. Iraqi Intelligence… 2007-07-07 11:24:25 For many Iraqi

Capital Punishment Abortion Is Murder 2007-07-06 14:44:07 Recent comments from a post about legalized licenses to kill brought up some questions. For me, comparing the death penalty to abortion is absurd. Yes, we are all created equal, but it is what a man does in his life that determines whether he is righteous or wicked.
I believe that capital punishment is a topic [...]

The Ultimate Firefox Setup… 2007-07-11 09:48:09 Firefox is great (TechyStuff.Info is viewed best in Firefox). I feel that to use Firefox to its fullest extent, its setup should include all the features you need, but also give you the maximum viewing area (Because browsing the web is what Firefox was made for). To do this, these are the extensions I use.

Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 In Ubuntu… 2007-07-16 16:56:11 Thunderbird is great. I use it everyday to check my three email accounts, all at once. However, the Thunderbird in Ubuntu
