KL Revisited 2006-10-17 06:28:48 Geena’s family came for a visit from Sarawak. They will be staying in KL till December and will only be going back to Sarawak after the new year. I’m kinda excited to have them here so that I can show them around. It’s not that they haven’t been here before but this time we will have more time to go places.

Playing with Themes 2006-10-16 03:44:16 I got nothing much to do today so I thought of changing and evaluating a few themes for Wordpress. I picked this one for now becoz of the simplicity of the design. Actually, this particular theme comes standard with Wordpress installation. Anyway, I still love my previous theme but I’ll stick to this one for now just to test it out.
Perhaps I will change to another theme when I find something better…

A visit to the doctor and funny incidents 2006-10-09 07:35:20 I was diagnosed with food poisoning yesterday after my buka puasa in Hartz Chicken Buffet the night before. Damn, looks like I won’t be going there again for a very long time. I lost my appetite for food right now. I hope this is won’t last long.
I went over to the clinic and got my medicine and MC, although I’m at work right now. Doesn’t matter la, I still got loads of work to get done.
The doctor said that I should get 100 plus isotonic drink to replace the salt in my body. It works though. Just like young coconut juice. It will cool your fever down and relief headache.
Anyway, while I was at 7–eleven yesterday to buy the 100 plus after my visit
to the doctor, I can’t help but laughing at one funny incident with one of the customers.

Many other things I can look forward to during this month. Fasting is definitely one of them. Yes, I do want to shed a few pounds. But it seems that I gained pounds instead of losing it. Darn, must be that 9 slices of large pizza I had. Still that can’t beat my all time record of 22 large slices. Heh.
How many of you actually did some research on where to buka puasa? I know some who did. They would google it up on best priced buffet, location and type of food served. They would also print out the whole list of restaurants and hotels that serves buka puasa buffet. Then they would neatly bind the printouts to make it more presentable. Sheesh. Ini macam punya orang pun ada ka?

When Puasa & Raya is treated as a yearly event… 2006-10-02 06:50:08 It’s been over a week since Muslims around the world started fasting. Somehow almost everywhere, the meaning of puasa is taken lightly only towards hunger and thirst.
This is not a new dilemma for us. Since a thousand years ago, Rasullullah s.a.w had already imagined his deepest concern towards his followers that they would only fast to get hungry and thirsty. This is because we take lightly on the true meaning of puasa. Even though we didn’t eat nor drink, we still do the “unhealthy” things or makruh in Malay. In fact, most of us would lost our mind and neglect all the foundation of fasting when it’s time to buka puasa.
Same goes with Hari Raya, we would spend and spend even more on unnecessary items. At the same time, we would overlook our brothers and sisters alike who has been suffering in war, hunger and natural disaster throughout the world including our neighbouring countries. Cook or Clean? 2006-09-26 08:33:05 I came across an article on the internet while searching for nice recipes online, especially for buka puasa. It’s hard to resist food temptations during this fasting month so naturally food is always the main subject of any conversation. We always hear, “Nak buka puasa kat mana hari ni?” or “Apa nak makan for buka today?” in our daily fasting month routine. Come 5pm, we hear the same question left right center.
Anyway, amongst all those dishes (pun intended), have you ever heard of Poached Salmon in Dishwasher?

Rain, KLCC and a Hindi movie… 2006-09-21 11:54:17 It was drizzling all evening. I left work at 6:30 and before I knew it, it started pouring heavily. I braved through the so called storm towards Ampang to pick Geena up. I know I should have changed the tyres of my car as it is without any grooves anymore. One small puddle can hurl the car into a uncontrollable spin, that if I travel in light speed. I know I was late, but I’m not taking any chances.
On a day like this when it’s pouring cats and dogs, there’s nothing like a good traffic jam. Queues as long as the road itself can be seen almost everywhere. Thanks to my navigational skills, I know many shortcuts as well. It doesn’t take long before I reached the Ampang Elevated Highway through many back lanes and a few potong queues.

has been around for quite sometime now and had gained high reputation as one of the best blend of authentic meals.
Same as last week, Geena had to work in Great Eastern Mall, Ampang. Getting there during rush hour is a nightmare. Plus, it was raining quite heavily yesterday evening. Luckily, I had some errants do be done for the office and that already puts me in KL town.
After enduring the pain of sitting in the traffic jam for hours, I finally reached the mall at 6–ish. With a tired leg and a sore butt, I waited for Geena at the coffee terrace for a while. She came out of work a few minutes later and head over to have our dinner at Cozy House.
Tell me who can resist a good sambal sotong? Cozy House’s delicious list of menus never seized to amaze. Just order anything from the menu, and it’ll turn out to be a mouth watering dish.

Perhaps this is the time of change for me, as I blissfully fast forward my attention of life towards the unknown.

Pending post 2006-11-05 03:09:13 Been busy the whole week with an upcoming event for the office. I find it hard to find the time to update my blog. I have loads of photos to put up. But I guess that will have to wait.
Most of the photos are of Geena’s family. They have been in town for 3 weeks now. Morris have already found a job in Mid Valley and his wife Laura is waiting for the result from her last interview. Victoria and Geena’s mom is just having a ball at home watching Astro and out shopping from time to time.

Oh yes. Esmerellda Joanne Leai. Daughter of Morris and Laura. I have loads of photos of her that I want to share. She is like, soooo cute. I will have to remember to download all of her photos from my digicam to my pendrive so that I can optimize the image and upload it when I have the chance.
