The statistic today shows an interesting figure. Well at least a good nice lucky number for me, 777 visitors after nearly a month this blog open to public, This blog someday will be used to post the releases of my skins-so the agenda/ direction of this blog will be different but for now I will try my best to keep up good content for the hungry information searchers which is hard to do in this busy environment lately.
This month I was busy doing other project so my skins collection in my design bank still few and still long way from the 200 mark target. But I am satisfied with two dark theme which I did in this month, its a complex gaming skin, dark futuristic theme, but don’t be afraid I’ll create many white layouts then dark ones and as many theme from gaming to medieval them, ladies to business theme etc.
So from now on, every month I’ll write a progress report.

vBulletin 3.6.7 PL1 misc folder update 2007-06-22 20:02:10 whoever designing vBulletin skins must be aware that the second “folder drop image” in navigation and breadcrumb on top beside the login panel has been replaced by a new image from navbits_finallink.gif(default) to navbits_finallink _ltr.gif, that was actually the same image but with a different name
After few years you are using the same name on that image and hundreds of skin designed and using a custom defined misc folder image in StyleVars, and using a custom made navbits_finallink here finally broken.
I don’t like this naming changes because this will affect all skins that are using different image from the original. It looks like a small matter but its really troublesome if you have 100 - 200 skins to update.
The total number of images in misc folder also has been increased from 45 images to 56 images. For those who didn’t know, misc images folder consists of viewable small icons that used separably in the forum. Misc folder can be found in default images/

Horizontal align the forumhome icons in vBulletin 3.6.7PL1 2007-06-29 11:24:57 As you see sometimes you need to have horizontal align the icons at bottom of forum home. Standard normal view is vertical aligned. These 3 icons are forum_new, forum_old and forum_old_lock GIFs. The mods is simple We need to arrange back them in 1 row table with 3 columns.

Vbulletin 3.6.8 small template changes for a lightweight theme/skin 2007-08-01 17:18:46 Last week vBulletin release its current update 3.6.8, I think this update will remain until November before they release their blog.. Its a soft update nothing big.no new images in most viewable images directory such as button, misc and statusicon folder.
So if you wanna fix your template
from 3.6.7PL1 to 3.6.8 there are only 2 soft updates to your navbar and footer (ONLY if your style is a basic style with standard modification to header, footer and navbar). If you have modified your forumhome or showthread, compare new and old version before making changes

Small update 2007-08-02 21:03:30 I ran an update for my live forum phpBB3rc1 to phpBB3rc4 and SMF1.1.2 to SMF1.1.3. By far SMF is the easiest to update in the whole world, just a matter of click in admin control panel(ACP), I am looking forward to SMF 2.0 Beta that will be released around October/Nov this year. phpBB3 Gold/Final Release is around the corner. Normally a RC (Release Candidate) version ends at number 4.
At the moment you have seen that I’ll blog more about vBulletin then other forums. That is because my current work for the time being closely related to vBulletin. Anyway I’m not new to phpBB2 but phpBB3 and SMF, yes. I am new.I also has experience skinning at least 5 IPB skins. So in the future I’ll look forward to buy IPB too..eventhough nowadays they are expensive then before. At the moment only phpbb3 and SMF installed inside sultantheme.com subdomain.
Overall the look and the feel, I give a full star rating to phpBB3.

Horizontal align the forumhome icons in vBulletin 3.6.8 2007-08-08 17:18:50 I have wrote about how to aligned the forumhome icons (3 icons after What’s Going On) in vb3.6.7PL1, but there is slightly a changes which they included an IF statement to turn off the 3rd icon that can be turn ON in vbulletin Options in adminCP that I believe you can find it in Forum Listing Display Options> Show Lock Icons to Users> pick “yes”
