Motiveless Crime News Headlines 2007-06-28 21:21:00 50 Killed in Iraq ViolenceThe violence in Iraq is reaching new and more bloody heights today after a total of 50 bodies were found. Police found 20 beheaded bodies on a riverbank near a Sunni village. Following that startling discovery another car bomb exploded at a bus station during morning rush hour, killing 20 civilians and wounding over 40 more. Mortars rained down in the Shorja commerical district of Baghdad, killing two. A roadside bomb killed four soldiers (3 British, 1 US). Yet again Operation Arrowhead Ripper is killing more than helping anything.Bush wants Castro to disappear"One day the good Lord will take Fidel Castro away," was the most literate sentence that President George W. Bush said when responding to a question fielded at Naval War College today. Castro has long been a problem for US Presidents due to his long-lived reign and resistance to US demands on how to control his territory. Castro is now 80 and has accused Bush of signing off on an assassination attempt on
FBI Limits Student Rights 2007-06-28 15:58:00 A while back I wrote an article concerning the FBI
telling major university administrators to be on the lookout for any students or faculty that could possibly be spies and/or terrorists. You can find the article, here. Apparently the FBI has been up to much more.FBI wants students to stop travelingFBI to restrict student freedomsFBI warns colleges of terror threatThe FBI wants to label academics and students as possible enemy combatants or moles and is now asking major universities and technical colleges across the country to limit student rights. So far reports are in that the FBI has asked colleges such as Boston University and the University of Massachusetts to limit student access to “sensitive” research. They have set forward a few rules that administrators should take into consideration (strong arm tactics). One of the latest FBI actions has been to tell colleges to deter students from leaving the country on holiday or having friends overseas. Guilty Pleasures 2007-06-28 14:23:00 Previously Guilty
Pleasures has started off with something about Paris Hilton. I'm kind of sick of her so her "news" will be at the bottom of the page...News about Lindsay Lohan's curb-wreck that sent her running to vacation (rehab) hasn't been readily available since the red-headed menace went AWOL. Luckily today law enforcement sources are reporting that Lohan had twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system, plus cocaine! Big shocker, I know. I love how everyone harps on the cocaine but forgets to mention that she is still 20. Who was serving her? It isn't like there isn't a detailed account of her club hopping and bar schmoozing. To top it off someone needs to tell Ms. Lohan that combining alcohol and cocaine produces cocaethylene, a chemical compound caused by the liver mixing the two drugs together. Cocaethylene greatly raises the chances of drug death and the mixture of both is the cause of the majority of drug-related emergency room visits in the US. Look it up if you don Read more:Guilty Pleasures
Motiveless Crime News Headlines 2007-06-28 13:20:00 Yesterday's Motiveless Crime News Headlines was saved as a draft copy instead of actually being published. I'm not really sure how this happened because I remember trying to publish it. Of course this is Beta. I'm posting it now because of the many emails asking where it went!Riots in Iran following fuel rationingOne of yesterday's major headlines concerned a large number of riots that happened in Iran over the day due to fuel rationing that was put into effect with a mere three hours warning. Citizens took to the streets and the chaos eventually led to 19 petrol stations being lit afire. This latest surge of outbreaks is only part of the anger sweeping the country since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took office two years ago. Ahmadinejad promised to place "oil income on people's tables." So far that promise has only come true for the people higher on the food chain. Apparently lines of cars for miles started forming trying to beat the three hour deadline. One can't help but imagine what ch
Something Before Bed XVI 2007-06-27 23:00:00 This video came to my attention today when one of my readers referred it to me via email. Obviously they are playing off of a very 1984, Orwellian principle. Its an interesting video but I really can't help but wonder why Clinton is the bad guy...I mean woman...being politically correct can really be a b*tch.I remember when this advertisement first came out. It was an interesting idea for an ad. I immediately began to question if the people crying were actors or not. In the end it doesn't really matter because it is a one minute long commercial that somehow pulls on a heart string. But there is another side:Oddly enough, I know a few of the Greenpeace workers from when I worked in NYC.Motiveless Crime is on the rise.
The Sitcom Lie 2007-06-27 18:42:00 I watch an episode of Friends every day. I know I should probably be ashamed of this but the truth is it’s a coping mechanism. There are many reasons that people continue to watch and warrant endless reruns of shows that have long ago been canceled. Some people watch it because the television shows that replaced sitcoms such as Friends, Will & Grace and Frasier are celluloid crap. Others find the shows’ familiarity and 90's political correctness comforting in a world where the man next to you on the bus could be a terrorist. For me it’s both of those reasons plus the fact that I've always found the relationships on 90's sitcoms to be lies, albeit lies I'm more than willing to eat up.Friends was a study in contradictions. Six friends living in New York, across the hall from each other, manage to afford apartments 5 times the size of any other NYC apartment. It’s amazing because all of these characters are interesting but lack any evil tendencies. There is no villain and wh

Constructive Graffiti 2007-07-03 17:57:00 After perusing the internet today it became clear that many British citizens believe this supposed terrorist plot is just a way of validating the Big Brother state that they currently are controlled by. Take into account the many cameras and sounds horns throughout the city that have been qualified because they have been used to ID the men who planted the Mercedes in front of the Tiger Tiger club. Because of that I post this Constructive Graffiti
for today, which comes to us from Hackney, London:I also came upon this lovely statement that was posted in Downtown Nashville, nearly four years ago: In case you can't quite make out the statement:In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.--George OrwellMotiveless Crime is on the rise.
Guilty Pleasures 2007-07-03 12:02:00 Lindsay Lohan turned 21 yesterday and had a party at some beach house in Malibu. No, she didn't crack and smoke crack. She didn't even have a drink. Damn, I was really anticipating an ER visit complete with stomach pump. Instead all we had was Calum Best (who invited him?) and Lindsay playing with a telephoto camera. What was she taking pictures of? Paparazzi.Katherine Heigl is filming some movie in NYC and played with an iPhone while on the set. For some reason I never imagined her being a smoker. She also made a few phone calls, but not on the iPhone...which she studied as if it were a Rubik's cube. The hair color is a big no.I used to have a huge crush on Scarlett Johansson. Then I saw this photo. Apparently she is now sporting a bull-nose-ring-thing. Not to mention the way she is dressed. Where did pretty and glamorous Scarlett go? Where did the perfect butt that ran all around in The Island go? Come back to me...Last week I posted a video of John Stamos stumbling around on an Read more:Guilty

Something Before Bed XX 2007-07-02 23:45:00 Motiveless Crime is on an upswing (to put it mildly). The site has grown in readership in a very dramatic way recently, which hopefully is a sign that the content provided here is hitting a mark with people across the world. So far I have avoided posting the site on social networking sites such as Digg and Del.icio.us because I really wanted the site to prove itself first. Today it did just that. Soon social bookmarking sites will be integrated into the site but will be removed if they prove to not be useful.Earlier when MC was still in development we used AdSense to try and gain a profit. When you spend all day working on a site and its content, you have to hope that it will someday turn a profit. AdSense, a Google creating, has since been removed because after a large number of page impressions it appeared that Google wasn't giving any credit to the site. Therefore Motiveless Crime is currently completely devoid of advertisements or paid posts. This may not always be the case but fo

Ann Coulter is a Crazy Evil Demagogue 2007-07-02 19:23:00 I'll be honest and admit that I had never heard of this nutbag before until a few days ago. I don't tend to listen to Republican or conservative radio shows, TV spots or books mainly because of people like her. But when someone makes a stab at anyone and uses the term "faggot" as a punchline, they move into my vision and I'm prepared to take her down if I ever get face to face with the witch. So far she has called Bill Clinton gay, defended Mark Foley and stated recently that the widows of 9/11 are media whores. Here is just a glimpse of the madness:These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis... These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them... Constructive Graffiti 2007-07-02 16:24:00 Motiveless Crime, in its infancy, started a segment called Constructive Graffiti

Curious gadget fans smash, dissect iPhonesHow long did it take Apple to create the second coming? Apparently the iconic "Jesus Phone" (aka iPhone) took a mere six months to create...and only a few seconds to break. After Friday's release, enthusiasts and competitors alike immediately began disassembling the $600 phone. Pictures began surfacing almost immediately of what makes the iPhone tick. Why would one do this? To learn how Apple has cornered the market. Enthusiasts just want the knowledge, competitors want the technology. Competitors for the iPod, Mac and iPhone have been confounded for years as to how Apple manages to create their products mostly because they keep a tight leash on the suppliers of each tiny part. Motiveless Crime News Headlines 2007-07-05 23:12:00 Buyouts seem to be prominently figured in major media outlets lately. First it was YouTube being purchased by Google and quickly followed by their own multi-national release. That was a wonderful wakeup call to a lot of private equity groups which have since tried to buy our major media conglomerates such as Virgin Media. Here is just a sample of the past few day's buyouts:Google Buys GrandCentral CommunicationsGreat, now Google can rule communications. Seriously, this company needs to focus on what it has and stop branching out before it collapses under its own weight.Blackstone to buy Hilton for $26 billion cashThat is a sizable chunk of change. MCNH Shorthand 2007-07-05 16:17:00 iPhone NewsLeading up to the iPhone release I covered most major news stories mainly out of disdain and shock at how Apple was controlling the media and creating such an immense hype over a first-generation piece of multimedia crap. After its first weekend on sale it has become clear that the American public is composed of a bunch of morons. Reports now have it that nearly 700,000 iPhones flew off the shelves since its release. Apparently that is pretty much all of the first shipment that went out. So what does that equate for Apple?Multiple reports have come out to say that Apple is making a 55% profit off of every iPhone sold (can anyone say price gouging?) which means for every $500-600 phone they make $250-300. Multiply that by 700,000 in less than a week = $210 million median profit. Not to mention that their stock has risen 5% and is now selling for 127 per share.Such greed and corporate growth is ridiculous and shameful. Even more shame to anyone who bought into it.CavemenEveryo
July 4th: Patriotism for Sale 2007-07-05 15:52:00 Yesterday many Americans celebrated the holiday known as July 4th which is probably more aptly titled Independence Day. The bastardization of the actual holiday isn’t limited to its common name but the actual meaning behind the holiday has been lost. I resisted commenting on the state of American patriotism yesterday mainly out of respect for the holiday and because while the reaction to the holiday is distasteful it is also 1% patriotic. On any given 4th of July you could approach any American and ask them what the holiday stands for and their simple and concise answer would be: Independence Day. But do most Americans realize what Independence Day truly stood for in the past? The day marks the most radical of ideas and one of the most influential documents that has ever been written was signed into law on July 4th, 1776. The Declaration of Independence, at the time, was an effort of at creating a new and pure government built on the ideas of individual freedoms and liberties t Read more:Patriotism

In case you weren't aware a little over a week ago the US government began a new and more lethal attempt at driving out militant factions in the Middle East by way of creating battles in residential neighborhoods where they believed "terrorists" to be hiding as well as the occasional bomb in villages, causing last weeks civilian death toll to reach 250. While I'm sure this was just a blip on the radar somewhere, I still spent a large amount of time on this. It brought a lot of meaning to my life and gave me a creative outlet that has been missing for some time. Yet other opinions mean a lot when it comes to validating what is worthy of pride. Therefore I must part ways with these aspirations and dreams. Good luck to all who have been along on this journey. I'm so sorry for wasting anyone's time.
