of the courthouse here. Lai Yick King, 31, was brought to the Sessions Court on Monday for his case to be mentioned at about 10am. At about 11am, prosecuting officer Asst Supt Aziz Baba called for an ambulance when he noticed that Lai was looking pale and had difficulty breathing. "As we came out of the lift (into the lobby of the courthouse), he collapsed. The ambulance had just arrived so they gave him first aid, but they could not revive him," said ASP Aziz. The exact cause of his death has yet to be ascertained. A post-mortem is to be performed. Lai was charged under Section 39A(2), 39A(1), and 12 (3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
