Hint: Tier 1 Prospector Farm: 2007-06-12 20:53:00 Hint: Tier 1 Prospector Farm:The place you want to look for the Tier 1 Prospector Farm, is in the Shire. Try creating an alternate Hobbit character and make him an Explorer for his Crafting. This farm has both Prospector materials and Forester materials. Go to the town of Micheal Delving in The Shire. Next, display the world map so it shows the town name Micheal Delving. Find where the "G" in Micheal Delving is. Go to that general area and you will certainly find at least two or three Prospector Nodes (Tin Deposits and Copper Deposits). Make sure to have your Prospecting Tracker on. There is a mound that you can stand on that can reveal any of the three nodes that appear. By doing this, you can almost instantly run to it and grab the node. An Explorer is also acceptable for this, not only for its Prospecting ability, but also the Forester. Every now and then, Rowan Branches will appear at the bottom of the hill to the right of the building, and at the top near the few trees.

Gameplay 2007-06-11 07:47:00 Common to other games in this genre, the player controls a character avatar which can move around anywhere in the game world and interact with other player characters. When the player exits the game, the game world continues to exist and other players around the globe continue to interact, making it a persistent world. The main emphasis of the game is to improve your character by increasing in level, which simultaneously increases character skills and other abilities. The method of increasing character level in The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar is commonly referred to as player versus environment (PvE) combat and storyline adventures. This refers to the type of play in which the player character interacts within the game by defeating monsters or collecting items and returning them to computer characters, as opposed to a player versus player (PvP) type of interaction. In fact there is a form of PvP combat included called "Player versus Monster-Player (PvMP)". Monster Play

Minstrel Guide 2007-06-15 18:18:00 Musical Instruments - There is currently a great deal of confusion about musical instruments, playing music, and how all this relates to a minstrel, so I thought I would address this right up front. You need to think of instruments and playing music in LOTRO in two completely different ways in order to make sense of this confusing subject. There are musical instruments that a minstrel uses to increase the stats to his/her songs that he/she uses in combat. When you start a new minstrel, you start with the lute skill only. You actually don't have a lute equipped right away, but when you sing a song that damages a monster or heals yourself or somebody in your fellow, you quickly pull a lute out and play a little lute riff. This is completely driven by the combat song you just clicked on, and you have absolutely zero control over the riff that is played. In other games, you would get alot of graphical animations when you cast a spell. In LOTRO the minstrel gets a little lute riff instead of Read more:Minstrel

Agamaur and Garth Agarwen 2007-06-15 18:13:00 Note: This guide contains possible spoilers, as it is fairly exhaustive. If you don't want to know about these areas ahead of time, turn back now.Agamaur and Garth
Agarwen are elite areas in the Eastern part of Lone Lands. They are challenging and confusing areas to play in, but the rewards for completing quests in this area are quite good in terms of both experience and items. To this end, I decided to write this guide to playing in these areas.HistoryIn-fighting among the sons of the Arnorian High King Eärendur resulted in the fragmentation of Arnor into three smaller realms: Arthedain, Cardolan, and Rhudaur. Rhudaur, which lay between Amon Sûl (also known as Weathertop) and the Misty Mountains, fell under the influence of Angmar. One of the denizens of Rhudaur was a River-daughter named Naruhel, sister to Goldberry who dwells in the Old Forest. Naruhel held sway over a vast swamp, named Agamaur, which lay to the north of the East-West road.Years of savage battles between the men
A complete guide to choosing your weapons 2007-06-15 18:07:00 * Auto-attack "ticks" are largely independent of all other factors except that they are delayed (or possibly overwritten) by skills with long induction times. The only reason that faster weapons enable you to chain your various skills faster is due to the faster animations of the auto-attack "ticks" that fall in between your chained skills due to either the global cooldown timer or the cooldown timer of the next-queued skill in your current chain. For example, most 2H weapons have longer attack animation times than faster 1H weapons, and there is variation in the animation speeds of the 1H weapons too. * The damage reduction of off-hand weapons is quite minimal, and is based on the weapon's lowest value in its damage range, not a flat 60% or 70% reduction as originally reported. Both main- and off-hand weapons hit on the same tick and and are evaluated separately for miss/parry/dodge/crit, etc. There is no penalty to miss/parry/dodge/crit for the off-hand weapon. This means that yo Read more:complete
The Complete Guide to Instance Bosses 2007-06-15 18:02:00 first let me say that the easiest way to clear trash is this... gather some up, fellowship conjunction - 5 reds/1 green. nice aoe w/ 1 minute HoT.now, to bosses:Assign Crowd Control (if necessary)Tank n' Spank (interrupt casting if possible, animations are usually very clear)Fellowship Conjunction = 3 blues/3 greens (having the tank and healer/s on greens is the easiest way to assign colors)Lather, Rinse, Repeat, Collect Loots.keep in mind that this strategy is working near-to flawlessly on 6man instances. havent tried it on any raid instances yet, but i'd assume we'll find a lot of 5+1 to ease the healers a little, and get a damage boost.btw, if anyone from turbine reads this:imo, fellowship conjunctions work exactly as planned. but when a boss has 30k+ health, and all you have to do is beat on him and take down an add or two, its too easy. more adds would be great (a few sigs is better than 1 annoying elite). and knockback, thats a great way to disorganize people. especially if it Read more:Guide
Farming 2007-06-14 19:33:00 INTRODUCTIONThe Farmer trade in LOTRO allows you to grow vegetables and pipe-weed. Vegetables are used by Cooks in various recipes, and pipe-weed lets you blow smoke-rings.Farming
is a little different from the rest of the crafting trades, which makes it rather interesting. Your "crafting facility" is Vegetable/Pipe weed Farmland and although you will find many farms around the Shire and Bree-land, only certain farms are designated as public "crafting" farmland. This guide describes the basics of farming, lists the locations of farmlands, and tells you what vegetables and pipeweed varieties can be grown and the uses of each one. All this should help you understand the nuances of the Farming trade, and provide information that you will need as you progress in your career.TOOLS OF THE TRADELike any other profession, you get a set of Farmer’s Tools as soon as you choose your vocation. You can also get better tools from a Farmhand vendor and metalsmith's can craft even better ones.Farmla

The Scholars Guide 2007-06-14 19:14:00 The Scholar: "Perhaps the most mysterious of the professions, the Scholar collects fragments of lost lore, and attempts to interpret their secrets. In doing so, he can produce scrolls that other craftsmen can read to improve their chances of producing a superior product. They can craft Mysterious Tomes that assist Loremasters. They can create scrolls that can buff your fellowship. And finally, they can make potions that allow you to heal while in combat." - Draznar. The following Guide

Soloer's Guide to Splintered Warg Claws 2007-06-14 19:05:00 All of the other items on stage two of our level 45 class quest are pretty easy to solo, Splintered Warg Claws
are a different story.I have found that they drop in two places, Carn Dum instance from level 48 Wargs, and Nan Gurth from level 50 Wargs. For Carn Dum you will need a group, and probably some CC as the wolves are in tight packs, with lots of other elites around them. Two runs or so there with a group that defers the claws to you and you should get your 20.If you are too low, or if this place is not an option for you yet, there is Nan Gurth.Nan Gurth is in the middle east part of Angmar, south of the town of Gath and the Himbar area. The place is populated by mobs ranging from 50-ish normals to 52+ Elite Masters, all more or less roaming in the same area together. Unlike most other areas in the game, Nan Gurth is populated by 80% elite mobs in the 50 range (Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Drakes, Trolls, etc.). For a Fervour ladened Champ, this area is bad news. Scattered among these d Read more:Guide

Newbie MP Grind guide... 2007-06-13 22:12:00 Been doing Mp for long enough that I think I have come up with a fairly decent angle on grinding. Feel free to comment and/ or add anything you think should be added or taken away...Very first thing to do as a freshly, umm, birthed monster is to do the scouting quests. You get them in the starting loc. Go ahead and grab everything in Grams that have a ring, but the key quests are:Report to Dar-Gazag, maggotReport to LugazagGet to Grothum, maggotTo Tirith RhawInto the GrimwoodTo Tol AscarnenAlso important to nab while doing your scouting quests are:Mash and Poisoning the HoardaleHow I run the scouting missions... Any other ideas are greatly appreciated. The trick with all of the scouting missions is a death by your Creep makes you have to return to Grams and retry the quest. So avoiding any heavy fighting with the signatures is strongly encouraged.1. Head out of Grams and proceed to the North West side of the map. Enter Isen through the western entrance. Scout around and you will be able Read more:Grind
Money making guide for new players 2007-06-13 22:10:00 Hey everyone, I couldn't help but notice how new players (including me when I started) have trouble making
money, so below I'd like to give some tips based on mine and other's experiences (yup, this is an eleborate post):Rule nr 1: LOOT EVERYTHINGThis guide has the following sections:1 general gear2 crafting3 general selling to players4 vendor tips5 where to find nice weapons6 what to kill at +- lvl 157 monster play8 burglars9 auction house10 quests1 gear don't worry too much about buying gear, trust me, it's really easy to get better stuff from quests that are way better then what any vendor will sell you (see bottom for 2 advanced tips)2 crafting! this is generally seen by newbies as the nr 1 way to drain your money, and it most certainly is in some cases, but let me split this in 3 parts:What vocation (profession package)? a good way to start off is with the forester, woodworker, farmer OR the prospector, metalsmith (any smith will do), tailorer package as those are the easiest Read more:Money
The ‘No Bones about it’ Hunter Guide 2007-06-13 22:07:00 Hello and welcome to another of my guides. This time I’m taking a detour from the usual run of the mill “everything is perfect and we all love the character” stance that seems so prevalent in guides these days.Well, I’m here to say the Hunter
is a great character to play, but far from perfect. And while it’s my toon of choice through the betas and into release, it still has some work to be done (but at least it’s not a LM or Captain ) to fix it up to where it should have been at release. In the past I've played games where all the characters and race combos were supposed to be equal, and if they weren't then they would be by the end game. Sadly, this is not always true. as shown in SWG, certain races in certain classes (like the Wookie beast handler) had an edge, in the beginning, middle AND end game being able to summon and control more than even their supposedly equal peers. While I hope that this is not the case here in LOTRO, certain races DO have some clear advantages Read more:Guide

Guardian: A Reference, Guide and FAQ 2007-06-13 22:01:00 It makes sense that we as Guardian

How to Guide to get your lvl 20 Undying title 2007-06-13 21:43:00 This post is designed to help players achieve the lvl 20 'undying' title. So what makes me qualified to write this? I have three [Edit: Four now] characters that have achieved the title on the Elendmir server. There is a lot of complaints about the nature of this title and about what the title say about you as a player. Frankly its all rubbish. The title works the way it works so we all have to play by the same rules to get the title so no amount of complaining is going to change the title's mechanics. Also no amount of sour grapes by other players who do not have the title is going to make me feel like its less of an accomplishment. The key to this title is questing and quest management. Some player talk about how the title means nothing because all you have to do is do green and light blue quests so it therefore means nothing. Well if you want to waste all your time doing green quests then go right a head but the title will take a lot longer and the longer you work on the title the m Read more:Guide
Leveling tips 2007-06-13 21:27:00 1) Try top pick a race you would enjoy playing as and feel proud about.2) Look for a class which interests you, such as if you like to be the big tank, a guardian. Or if you want to heal, a minstrel. They all have many varietys of moves which can help to keep you interested and aiming for that next level.3) Getting into a kinship or making friends who work well with your toon could be a good idea.4) Questing is the best way to gain experience/good items/RP stuff. It's not much fun to just keep whacking the same mobs in the field over and over unless you actually have a goal to kill them and then you can be justly rewarded. Questing is definitely the way to go to level. There are even class-specific quests at certain level milestones that grant skills/traits/weaponary/armour whatever that you can't acquire otherwise. Definitely check out the NPCs of Middle-Earth, they all need your help!source (http://forums.lotro.com/) Read more:Leveling
Woodworking Recipes 2007-06-19 06:30:00 Woodworking Recipes The Names that are in Bold are confirmed as correct as of the most recent update (Open Beta). The names that are in normal were found in Beta 2, but their stats have not been confirmed since the latest update.XPR (XP per Resource) is a concept that I use to compare different recipes. It reflects the total xp earned for that vocation (so xp of item + xp of all subcomponents from the same vocation) divided by the amount of resource used. This gives me a number that lets me compare items to see what is the best item to make to advance and how the costs compare between vocations. My only current flaw in the system is that rare items (drops from rare mobs, gems, etc) aren't weighted in such a way as to reflect the increased difficulty of getting that item. Each item has 3 XPR listed:Only primary materials (ore for weaponsmithing, wood for woodcrafting, etc)All gathered materials (so includes materials from other
