The Power of MyBlogLog
2007-07-23 08:12:28
In one my earlier articles regarding monetizing my blog (Part 2), I mentioned socializing with other people via Mybloglog(MBL) and others. So I have started a week long effort to push my MBL community. Before I was little unsure on its power and how to use it, but now with further study I can see the value. We have all seen the “MBL widget with recent readers” floating around on other peoples blogs and may have even clicked on the box to view the peoples profiles or even joined the community and not known what’s it’s about? First think why you clicked on that particular profile? Possible it was the icon that stood out from the rest? Probably it was. So what's going attract people to attention to your icon sitting among others in the recent readers section, Attention is attracted normally by either a face or some bodies else’s face. But unless you do something different you may find it hard to stand out in the crowd, For myself I have added a picture

Monetizing Your Blog Part 3- Monetizing
2007-07-22 09:29:56
That just re-cap what we have discussed over the last 2 parts Part 1 The topic was blog content and the importance of quality and retaining visitors Part 2 The topic was Visitors To complete part 1 and part 2 could take you a while but its worth getting Part 1 and Part 2 right before you can really Monetize your blog properly. So where do you start now to monetize our blog? The most popular ways are: 1. Affiliate Programs 2. Shops 3. Advertisements 4. Sponsored Posts 5. Donations or Tips 6. Own products 7. Autosurf / Hyip ( different form of making money so i will leave this one out) Let’s expand on these topics a little further. 1. Affiliate Programs. There are a host of affiliate programs whereby a blogger can earn money by promoting all sorts of services and products. Payment for affiliate programs come in several ways (a) A percentage of the sale, (b) A flat fee or (c) Per click. It all sounds very easy right. You simply put their ads or information on your blog,

Firefox Still Risky Despite Latest Fix
2007-07-25 09:21:48
Firefox Still Risky Despite Latest Fix Linux.com - According to a message posted over the weekend on the Full-Disclosure mailing list, the latest version of Firefox, 2.0.0.5, contains a password management vulnerability that can allow malicious Web sites to steal user passwords. If you have JavaScript enabled and allow Firefox to remember your passwords, you are at risk from this flaw. The Mozilla team fixed a similar flaw last November, one which did not require JavaScript. The heise Security Web site contains a demo/proof of concept of the vulnerability risk that you can use to determine your vulnerability. 2007-07-24 20:00:59
I hope you’ve already started thinking about the next Google PageRank update! At its very near, there is no exact date but though history its any time now, but we can get an estimated date by using the history of the last few updates, you can see typically its every 2.5 to 3 months as shown below: • April 27, 2007 • January 25, 2007 • January 10, 2007 • September 28, 2006 • July 13, 2006 • April 4, 2006 • February 18, 2006 • December 19, 2005 • October 19, 2005 • July 14, 2005 For the newbies or experienced webmasters around lets begin with the basics. What is PageRank? Page rank was born in 1997 by two people attending Stanford University named Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page. The formula to calculating what a PageRank is derived from the following: • The number of pages linking to the page in question • The PageRank of the pages linking to the page in question • The Number of links going out from the pages that

Another Autosurf / HYIP update, as mentioned that i have been in Malaysia for the weekend so all my autosurf programs had expired before i had left. Now that i am back i have started going though my emails and reinvesting into the programs that are preforming well. Received a payment from 13dailysite on Saturday which was paid within hours yet again, this is my 5th round i am into now and all things are looking good for this site. James mentioned in MMG that he will be looking at a third Payment Processor Alertpay but nothing has been confirmed yet. "Yes, I will consider adding AlertPay as a third payment processor. They seem to be a widely used processor in the autosurf industry. I will have a look into them more and do some research." James Admin PSTraffic has left off from when i went on holiday and thats paying daily and very promptly, this site has been around for months now has a good payout record up to now. MMG posts inside there thread are still very good, only maj

What is Technorati?
2007-07-27 11:24:13
What is Technorati ? Think of it like Google but they only search in blogs, Google searches for information on blogs and other websites where as Technorati searches for in blogs, approximately 71 million currently. Probably the biggest thing between Google and Technorati is Google takes a few days to register any information where as Technorati has the information ready in minutes. So Technorati has advantages over Google. How does Technorati Ranking Work? Technorati ranks all the blog in the internet, from there they search for all the other blogs that link back to that blog, therefore the more links you can get back to your blog the higher your ranking. You may like to look at the here to see more about ranking but basically it says that I link will be counted for a total of 180 days, so if that site mentions your link again the 180 days will be reset. Currently my site is ranked 434,156 meaning there are that many people between me and the number 1 blog. Which is currently hel

The Bloggers Challenge
2007-07-27 05:08:00
Just finished reading an article from Brian of One Man's Goal: 365 Days and he has come up with a competition to see which site can improve there Technorati Favorites, Technorati Authority, and Alexa Ranking. The Blogger Challenge I’ve decided today to hold a contest for the month of August. Starting August 1, every blog that enters the contest will be attempting to better their blog. They will have the top percentage increase in each of 3 categories… Technorati Favorites, Technorati Authority, and Alexa Ranking. You can win one… or take home the TRIPLE CROWN by winning them all. In case you were wondering, I chose these categories because they can be viewed by anyone. That way there is no question of who the “true” winner is. I’ve decided to judge the results based on percentage rather than total numbers so that it levels the playing field. The newer blogs aren’t usually going to be able to compete with the older more established ones, s

Autosurf Updates.....
2007-07-26 23:35:01
I have been in Incomestorm for 4 days now and have received daily payouts without any problems, so i like to share this program with you guys, Units cost just $5, and you can purchase as many as 1000 shares daily. Your daily income will fluctuates daily between 14.3% and 45% of the total cost of the total number of active shares in your account, shares will last for 30 days. Word of warning be careful as the server time is not EST, but 12 hours ahead so don't miss out on your surfing day. Received regular daily payments from PStraffic and M Investment for the last few days. Visited LSG blog last night (my time) and found the blog offline, contacted Admin and he updated me that he had exceeded his bandwidth and is unable to access the site until next month, so he will be taking a forced break and will be back on 1st August to continue the updates.

PSTraffic more updates from Jamie and more
2007-07-30 09:39:05
Since my last update regarding PSTraffic and my update on the slow down of incoming e-gold see here, it seems that the members have responded well has mentioned by Jamie in his latest email (see below) I would like to congratulate E-gold users. E-gold funds are coming in nicely. If E-gold funds continue to consistenly increase I will lift the E-gold withdrawal limit right away. I honestly didn't expect this kind of improvement this quickly STP and VGB funds are consistently being maintained at a satisfactory level. Good job STP and VGB users Alertpay funds are ok but have slipped a bit. C'mmon AP users let's move those funds back up where they belong. Because PS-Traffic members reacted in a very mature fashion I will continue to update members on a regular basis regarding cash flow. I guess honesty wins this time around. Second email received from Jamie yesterday where he mentioned by reducing their ROI to 120% and he is looking for members feedback. Many member, bloggers a

Paid to Blog Series - Smorty
2007-07-30 03:04:31
Smorty is my second review in the Paid to Blog series, I joined Smorty around one months ago and found the sign up process to be simple and was completed within 5minutes. Approval is typically done within 72 hours and my application was approved with a day. Additional blogs can be added to allow you to have multiply blogs within one account. Once you have your blog approved, you are ready to write the first article. Minimum payout for an article is $6 and you need to write at least 150 and a maximum of 400 words. Smorty has a unique blogger ranking system. There are two factors affecting your income, firstly, if you have a higher Google Page Rank you will be offered higher paying campaigns. Secondly, Smorty's calculates it's own smart score system, it's created by combining the following factors 1) Google’s PageRank, 2) Alexa Rankings, 3) Return rate of given tasks 4) Approval/Decline ratio of completed tasks and 5) Number of completed tasks. If you have a higher Smorty s

Autosurf Update- PSTraffic slow down in E-Gold upgrades
2007-07-29 08:31:53
Just received this update from Jamie the admin of PSTraffic regarding the decrease of e-gold upgrades , full update belowHonesty can only get you so far in this industry. It can either break a program or increase the member's trust and make a program stronger. I have always been honest to all my members and I'm hoping for the latter to happen. Before I go on, this update only concerns E-gold users. If you are not an E-gold user you don't even have to read this. I know that some of you that have been with PS-Traffic since the beginning have heard this same old news regarding E-gold upgrades. Well, I regret to say that the same circumstances have risen. E-gold upgrades are slowly decreasing once again. From my observation, although the egold scare is over, the majority of surfers have pulled out their Egold and placed them in either Alertpay or Solidtrustpay. This is also the reason why PS-Traffic's E-gold upgrades have decreased while PS-Traffic's Alertpay funds and STP

Paid to Blog Series - Blogitive
2007-07-28 15:36:59
Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing different paid to post sites, these are excellent ways to earn a steady income without the risk and exposure of other sources of income. Currently I am four sites but I will sign up the others and give my feedback according to my experience with each site. Each review will cover areas such as sign up, opportunities, payments and my personal rating from my experience. Paid to Blog – Blogitive Blogitive will be my first review, they was one of my first paid to blog sites I joined in around April this year. Signup is quite simple with a single page signup form, they mention approval will take 2 business days to get, I can’t remember the length it took me to be approved so we will assume 2 days for now. You may add additional blogs to your account after approval. Once your blog is approved you can go to the open offers section within your account to see what opportunities are available. Typically I see one to two offers daily

How to improve your Technorati Ranking?
2007-08-02 11:55:59
My previous post on Technorati (Click here)it was mentioned that we discuss how to improve your ranking. But first quick recap on what’s Technorati? Technorati is basically a Google type search engine that looks at blogs only and is updated instantly; the rankings are like Alexa as the lower the number the better your rank. Today we will discuss more on Technorati Authority and how to improve your Ranking What’s Technorati Authority? It’s the number of blogs that actually link to you, therefore my site is currently 19, and hence 19 different sites have linked to me in the last six monthes. So having a good relationship with other blogs will help you to gain a greater Authority. In fact, “incoming links” has been replaced by the “Authority” number. The higher Authority score, the better Technorati Rank. You will get same Technorati Rank as other blogs if both of you have same Technorati Authority score. How to approve your rankings qui

Journal Update
2007-08-07 00:03:34
Been a while since i have updated on Autosurf, PSTraffic send out daily emails regarding updates and their latest update they have mentioned they will reduce there ROI to 120% from the previous 130%, and with the daily changing of terms regarding the withdrawal of money etc times are getting hard for Jamie and i am currently paying with profits right now. On a brighter note , 13dailysite has still preformed well and i have received another payout two days ago. I joined them in early June and they have not missed a beat with their payments and i have currently two sets running right now. Incomestorm is another program that has run very smooth since i joined it around 2 weeks ago, they pay daily with around 4-7% ROI, they have a very unique script and only require too view 5 sites which takes only 2 minutes. Just be careful with the timing as they don't follow US time and you can get caught out. Lifestylersgroup does daily updates to his blog for autosurf/ HYIP and you may want

Paid to Post Series- Bloggerwave
2007-08-06 17:47:24
Since i have not updated the series of paid to post for around a week so its time for my third review on Bloggerwave, I joined this site around 2 weeks ago as another way to increase my earning from blogging. Sign up is straight forward and I was approved within a day, I have currently added two blogs into my account and its possible to increase to maximum of 5 blogs to any single account. Bloggerwave are quite new to the paid to post community and they payout rates so far look very promising with my first opportunity paying out $10, minimum payout is set to $1 but I don’t see this happening much. When choosing your opportunity take note that certain posts require a minimum PageRank and Alexa score and a bloggerwave score too. Payments are done on a monthly so be prepared for the first month being quite on the payment side, but keep working to put out regular posts to ensure a constant payout. In summary the site is new and opportunities are limited at present but over time

Favicon...
2007-08-06 08:52:40
When surfing though the many blogs I do every week I realizes one thing, not many sites use the Favicon. What is a favicon you ask? A Favicon is the little Symbol that goes in front of your http address, many of may think it’s a small symbol with no importance. But I believe it’s a very key element to your site. I have a huge list of blogs that I read though and I always look for the symbol to locate certain sites. If you now look at my http address now you will see this: http://yeepage.com The step by step of adding a favicon may only take 5mins and is simple to install in your site, take a look at the following link on the step by step process: By adding the Favicon it will help people find your blog among the many thousands of fellow bloggers out there. Which can only be a good thing. If you like my post, kindly consider joining my full RSS Feed or add me to your Technorati Favorites... All buttons below this post

Comments will get you Noticed
2007-08-10 12:28:52
Over the last few weeks we have looked at social networking to improving your traffic to your blog though Technorati and MyBlogLog and another way to break into the blogging world as a newbie or veteran is too leave comments on other people’s blogs. This is paramount to getting yourself noticed by others. Try find out who are the big players in your targeted niche and study their blog and why they have a huge following? Ask yourself a few questions like... Why is their blog different to yours? How they relate to there readers? And please don’t rush in and say “nice article” or “I agree” nobody likes that, would you? So after studying carefully their blog it’s time for us to leave a comment or two on their blog. Remember a great comment needs opinions and knowledge on the topic in question but not necessary to agree with their view. This will normally get their attention and they may just reply to your comment and start a conversation. Pe

Human for Sale- $2.84m
2007-08-09 03:50:20
When i was young my parents always mentioned selling me too the neighbors or sell me to the circus when they were in town if i misbehaved, and still today we hear of many African countries still selling people for prostitution or slavery, etc. Ever wonder how much money you could get on the open human market? HumanForSale.com will attempt to place a value on your life using a variety of criteria in 4 basic facets of life. Among the criteria used include athletic ability, education level, income, amount of exercise, weight, and sense of humor. This is obviously a very subjective matter and is not intended and does not claim to be scientifically accurate. The more honestly you answer the questions, the more realistic the dollar value returned will be. HumanForSale.com - I am for sale! I am worth $2.84million, hard to believe if you know me...i am interested what other people are worth and would like people to try the survey and put your worth in a comment to my blog.. Paid to Vote!!! with Subvertandprofit
2007-08-08 12:50:26
with social networking being the biggest thing to drive traffic to your site it was only a matter of time before paid to vote appeared, Digg and Stumbleupon are two of the biggest traffic boosts around right now, now you can get paid when using these programs. The concept of Digg and Stumbleupon is the same in that we can vote on a site with good votes which increases exposure of the site or article and bad votes that will lower the exposure. So votes are the key to traffic driving. That's where Subvertandprofit comes into the picture, by paying people to vote the advertisers (site owners) will gain positive votes and thus get more people viewing there site. We are notified by email to cast a vote in either Digg or Stumbleupon and in return we earn $0.50. You can earn 20% of the earnings of any friends you refer who work for us, and 10% of the cost of all advertisements from all advertisers you refer to us. Disgruntled Workforce
2007-08-11 13:07:02
This is the first time i have reviewed a site and its a not a paid review, but i really enjoyed and laughed at this site. Disgruntled Workforce is a blog fed by the readers and their real life experiences. The Site has rants and raves from disgruntled employees broken down into jobs or topics, you can find things from Airlines, sex, quit, teachers to unemployed. You can spent a good hour just reading what people have to say. Heres a few classic ones: I am Ridiculously Bored at Work My Boss is Screwing my secretary You look like a tool with your new iphone i'm a doctors verbal punching bag There are many more and some cool videos added too. Myself coming from the construction industry, i just couldn't resist to read what other people are saying about their jobs. Surprisingly, i could relate myself to quite a few of the articles and especially the one about the old computers, the bloody printers printing slower than you could probably write and the photocopier that jams more than it

Autosurf / HYIP Updates
2007-08-11 06:38:53
A quick update on my Autosurf/HYIP side, PSTraffic is in the transition period to their new site called PSadvertising, i be waiting for dust to settle and see which way things move in the next few days. 13dailysite on the other hand is continuing to move along nicely and i have another set expiring in the next few days and i will keep you posted on the outcome in the week. Another promising site is incomestorm which currently is paying around 5% daily and has paid promptly for the last few weeks without any hiccups. HYIP Minvestment has not changed from last week and is still paying around 1.50-1.70% and i don't see why it will not continue over the next few months too. As previously mentioned in my post last week that i will keep you updated regarding the payments from Blogitive and members Tax submission, last week i updated my records stating non US citizen and they have now paid my outstanding payouts, slight change in payments as they will only be done on every Friday from

Backing up your Blog
2007-08-16 04:46:31
All you people reading my blog back up your computer files? I believe most people do. So now how many other Bloggers backup there blog? Be honest until recently I had never too. I have read peoples horrifying stories of how they lost their blog and looking for help to retrieve. Could you image if you been blogging for 2 years and posted 500 posts and it is gone? Everybody’s posts are different and unique so we need to backup our posts to ensure we don’t lose our data if the web server crashes. I have found this free web service called BlogBackupOnline which I would like to call our insurance policy for our blog. => Read more!

10 Blog TrafficTips
2007-08-21 11:52:55
In every bloggers life comes a special day - the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else's blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader - you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that's about as far you went when it comes to finding readers. Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers. These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling. It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal re
