Majesco announces Blast Works: Build, Fuse & Destroy 2007-06-28 01:45:45 Majesco Entertainment announced “BlastWorks
: Build
, Fuse & Destroy” - a side-scrolling shooter that lets players craft the game to their liking by building their own levels, ships and enemy ships. Players will also be able to “absorb” the pieces and weapons of destroyed enemy ships to bolster their own defenses during battle.
“Across more than 15 different land, air and sea missions, the goal of Blast Works is to destroy enemy ships while continually growing your own into a massive craft by absorbing their fragments. The larger a “fused ship” is, the easier it is to protect from the growing onslaught of enemy firepower. Players can also upgrade their ship in the Hangar by customising weapons, propulsion systems and armour. Creative types will further enjoy building a ship from scratch with the Ship Editor and then testing it out in combat on a custom level they’ve built with the Level Editor. To defend the Hangar, players must use the Wii Remote™ lik

European surgeons, get your scalpels ready 2007-06-26 06:47:40 Nintendo has announced that Trauma Center: Second Opinion will see a European
release on 10th August 2007.
The press release explains things quite nicely: Following the same format as the original Trauma Center, Second Opinion is a fast-paced action-filled game where players must complete the tasks set for them as quickly and accurately as possible. With points awarded for both accuracy and speed, a truly great surgeon will need a confident, but steady hand. In this version of the game, all the surgeon’s actions are controlled using a series of life-like movements with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, making Trauma Center more exciting and realistic than ever before.
The game’s controls add a very different dimension to Trauma Center: Second Opinion. With a two-handed play scheme utilising both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, players can select instruments using the Nunchuk in one hand whilst the other hand employs the chosen tool, adding precision and realism to the game.

Nintendo counterfeiter cought and forced to pay $2.5million 2007-07-06 05:59:56 A Uruguayan Civil Court Judge recently ordered a major counterfeiter of Nintendo
video game products to pay Nintendo $2.5 million
in damages and legal expenses.
The Court determined that the offender and three of his related corporations were responsible for the sale and distribution of tens of thousands of counterfeit Nintendo products.
Back in 2001, four retail shops and a warehouse were raided and seven truck loads with about 30,000 counterfeit Nintendo products were seized in Montevideo, valued at over one million US dollars. Following the seizure, the owner was criminally charged with trademark counterfeiting. Curiously, the criminal trial ended in 2003 with the granting of an unexplained executive pardon or “gracia”.
In addition to the criminal charges, Nintendo filed a civil action against the owner and his businesses, claiming he was selling and distributing counterfeit Nintendo products on a large scale, obtaining sizeable profits, and damaging Nintendo’s rep Read more:forced
