Mini-review: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End 2007-05-26 15:51:11 I just saw it in theater. They were many fans on this sunny Saturday after-noon for the English showing .
If you seen the first 2 movies(most had by now), then see it in theater. Besides, most summer blockbuster are worth it. Pirates
of the Caribbean

’s End is long at times(2h50) and equivalent to the second movie. The first one is still the best. I did not watched the second one since last year and I suggest you watch it again for a refresher if you need to.
And one last thing…
Stay after the credit(most left the theater). Without going into details, I could see a fourth one. The weekend box office will surely tell us.
I seen a new(?) longer trailer for Transformers. I was not very excited at first but I’m more now because this one by gave us more details. I just hope I did not see the whole movie with this trailer! Read more:review
How to make a new TV show survive the whole season 2007-05-22 10:16:16 This year was one of the worst TV season I tried to watch. Why? Most shows that I started to watched were canceled after just a few airing(many were serialized).
Those are my recommendations for you TV executives/Show Producers
Stick to the time slot or people won’t know when it’s on. Create an habit first and change it the next season if need be.
People use an invention called a VHS/DVD recorder/HTPC and they use it. I use 2 PVR(single tuner) and timeshift. Yes, in Canada we can do that. We may not see it live but we do watch it later. A 2 dual tuner solution would fix it in the U.S. in case of 4 good shows at the same time(no timeshift). That’s for die hard tv viewers.
Take a note from 24h/Prison Break. Play them in order with no repeats. You can split them in two with a small break(2-3 weeks) for the holidays.
Be more patient. Let the viewers find it. You used to do that.
Use Saturday for new shows. Again, You used to do that.

Review: Spider-Man 3 2007-05-04 15:03:04 This afternoon, I went to see Spider
-Man 3 in English, of course. Everybody will make a review and I will be short this time. If you like the first 2, then go see it. Plus, nothing beats the big screen
in the theater. The theater was 80% full for the English version and that’s on a sunny Friday after-noon. For Quebec City, it’s amazing. I can’t imagine all the waiting for those that will go tonight in English or French. (more…)
Review: Grindhouse 2007-04-06 15:38:01 I went to see Grindhouse
this afternoon. Being Good Friday, the place was 50% full with mostly male viewers. It’s a mostly a guy movie! But ladies, don’t be shy! (Inside joke when you see the movie)
It’s the first English movie since 300 in town. Note that Québec City is a French-Canadian city(98%) so this is rare since the closured of the other theater that was also showing English movies. I take what I can and no translation for me.
Back to the movie now
The style is very different from what we are used to. The movies, yes the 2, was made to look like the film was old with some grains and lines on it. Don’t worry, it’s not distracting. I did not expect to be funny movies(mostly dark humor) . It had many cliché of that time and I found that it work great.
The movie is about 3h11. After the actual previews, we are greeted to movie previews at the beginning of each movies. One or two could make good candidates for Grindhouse 2 with all the action scenes

Does Hollywood lost some of it’s imagination? 2007-03-25 14:22:53 In the last years, the studios gave movie fans great movies but also a lot of sequels and remakes. Don’t get me wrong, those, from time to time, are fun to watch but it’s the dangerous growing trend that don’t like. Are movie goers responsible? Are studios playing safe? Are actors paid to much? Four: Rise of the SilverSurfer
this afternoon. On my way, the woman on the radio said the critics were not very good and worst than the first movie. I still went ahead.
A new trailer was shown of Harry Potter 4. I just hope I did not see the movie and that one should had been the first trailer in my opinion.
The film is short(1h32) for a big summer movie and they will have a extended DVD for sure. Yet, I found it a joy to watch and Johnny Storm funny. The special effects were good but I did not start to look at each frames to see if something was wrong. The story was simple to follow(kids) but it’s a summer movie after all.
I try not to expect too much, most of the time, and often leave satisfy because of that fact. But I’m eager after watching, again, a trailer for Die Hard 4 . News: Audi copies Michel Lauzière number 2007-06-21 19:13:12 Last year, Michel Lauzière made a rollerblade presentation for the David Letterman Show. It was a great thing for a local man. 8 months later, the car company Audi copied it but with a car, of course, and without paying for the rights.
“It maybe peanuts for them but it’s cashews for me” he said on TV tonight. Funny but he has a point.
Now, Audi should be fair and pay him and without the lawyers!

called “Valkyrie“. It’s based on the true story of military plot(Operation Valkyrie) to kill Hitler. Cruise
will play Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg leader of the plot. It will be filmed in Germany in a key military location. It’s something that is not well known unless you watched many WWII movies.

I will let this one alone and say this a real popcorn action movie. John McClane(Bruce Willis) has many lives and so one of the henchman. No mini-review of Transformers 2007-07-06 07:50:06 This week, I was all prepared to post a mini-review
of Transformers
. I checked the schedule but it’s was not available. Weird? It’s one of the biggest movie of the summer. I called the theater that normally shows this kind of movies. It was not a mistake and I waited until today in case of a delay but it’s still not available.
Ok, it’s not the real truth. I can see it in French in many theaters in Quebec City but it’s not available in English. The distributor, in it’s mind, taught that no real money could me made. Is the movie that bad that it could not last one week after the first wave(fans) seen it? That is something to think about.
I, by principal, will not see it in French. I hate translation and know the voice of Josh Duhamel from the show Las Vegas. I will have to wait.
That’s the price of living in a French-Canadian town. Last year, it would not had been a problem but one English- friendly theater closed in February thus limiting the a

this afternoon. I’m a fan of the movie series and never read the books. It’s a more mature movie and it’s long at some places but overall it’s a great summer movie. I liked it very much and it should be seen at the theater.
During the movie, warning lights started to flash. No body moved and we continued to watched the movie. After 5 minutes, a clerk told us it was a false alarm. That’s what I taught because the movie was not stopped.
Tip: Arrive way before it starts. I was 1 hour early and had to wait because of the long lines. The first English showing(only theater) was 90% full. The French had 3 showing at almost the same time. That’s not counting the other theaters in the city. So, plan ahead. They should make an English only line to speed things up for English viewers
