New Adam Interview 2007-06-07 12:48:56
MAROON’ED: Accused of having parallels to “Entourage’s” central character, Vincent Chase, and his crew, Adam Levine of Maroon 5 cops to the fact, “It’s frightening [how] our lives are [like] that show … Watching it, we just look at each other and say, ‘Oh, man.’ The things they do, the places they go … ” he tells Entertainment Weekly, in the issue hitting stands tomorrow (6/8). Like Vince (Adrian Grenier), the 28-year-old Levine is a sex symbol who lives high in the Hollywood Hills, and he likes his cars fast, his girls beautiful and his friends loyal. And like Vince’s crew, Levine and his band members go way back — to junior high, in fact.
But as much as Levine enjoys the good life, he complains to EW that it comes at a price. “We want people to remember that we’re a band and I’m not a celebrity,” Levine declares. “That’s gotten skewed over the past couple of years, so we want to

Levine Connects With Houdini 2007-06-06 15:38:07
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is glad he recorded his new album at the former mansion of legendary magician and fellow Jew Harry Houdini - the ghosts there helped them write “some great songs”. The This Love singer insists the band shared the mansion with things not from this world - but far from being scared they turned to the spirits for musical help.
“I’d show up, do my work and leave before I could see the blood coming out of the walls,” he says. “If there were spirits in Houdini’s old house they were benevolent. We came out with some great songs so they must have helped us. And we did have a pretty epic Halloween party there.”

Adam and Jesse Interview in Veronica Magazine 2007-06-12 11:33:06
The article is from a Dutch magazine. Thanks to _Wendy_ for the translation.
The second album can either be a hot or not. So thrilling times are coming up for Maroon 5, who after the exceedingly strong debute album Songs About Jane came back with the successor It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.
We talked with leadsinger adam and keyboard player Jesse
in an lugubrious majestic hotel in London
There are alot of lyrics about sex on your new album…
Adam: They say that most people think about sex 33% of the time right?
Jesse: Isn’t that a little bit too much?
Adam: Nah, well I think that I think about sex 85% of the time.
You think about yourself as a lover who’s THAT good? There are lyrics like “I wonder if he’s half the lover that I am”..
Adam : I don’t see myself as a good or a bad lover. I think that some of the lyrics are about my competitive me. I want someone to want me. That’s because of my masculine ego. I don’t know whethe Read more:Veronica

Adam and Jesse on Howard Stern 2007-06-12 09:47:24 Maroon 5 came in to promote their new record, and Howard
interviewed lead singer Adam Levine about their career. Adam said that the band got signed when he was 17, and admitted that the band had been good for his sex life. Howard told Adam that one of the interns got “all dolled up” because she knew Adam was going to be here today. Adam said flattery is nice, but noted that his girlfriend was in the green room. The band performed their big hit, “This Love,” which led Howard to say he understood why they get laid so much.
Howard asked Adam about hooking up with Jessica Simpson, to which Adam replied that he’s listened to Howard long enough to know that the guys who give up names on the show always end up looking bad. Howard read a long list of young Hollywood actresses and models that Adam’s been rumored to have slept with, but Adam admitted nothing. Adam said he’d dated Kirsten Dunst and Kelly McGee, but denied that he’d slept with Lind Read more:Jesse

Adam Levine Reveals His Sexy Secrets 2007-06-11 20:37:12
The usually discreet Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is finally kissing and telling.
Levine opened up about his love life on Howard Stern’s Sirius radio show Monday morning. Levine, 28, went on with his 21-year-old new girlfriend, Rebecca Ginos, who is a cocktail waitress at L.A. nightclub Teddy’s.
He told Stern that the couple met on her twenty-first birthday, and got (very) close shortly thereafter. “We had sex the first night we met,” he announced. But before Becky’s ladylike sensibilities could be offended by this public airing of laundry, Levine continued, “I think you’re the hottest girl in the entire f-ing universe.” Chivalry is not dead, after all.
Stern also asked Levine to set the record straight on previous rumored romances. For those keeping score: Levine claims he has not been with Paris Hilton, Natalie Portman, Kirsten Dunst, Maria Sharapova, or Jessica Simpson. At least, not when she was still married to Nick Lachey. He di Read more:Secrets

Jesse interview on channel4.com 2007-06-17 13:49:54
Hello, Jesse
from Maroon 5. You have a new album out but we’ve already got one of yours. Why do we need this one too?
Well if you like the first one then you really have to get this one because it’s the next level for our band. I like to think that every time we make a record, it will be better than the last one. And this one is something that everyone in the band likes and it is right there.
Right there, you say? And how do Maroon 5 get right there before going on stage to play songs off that album?
To kick ourselves up before we go on stage we try and lose our minds a little bit to get our energy up. We try to get in sync with each other and make up some songs on the spot and sing them and dance and try and walk the line between being destructive and creative. We just sing anything that comes to mind and scream out any old lyric.
Terrifying. Do you have a da Read more:interview
Toronto show 6/15 2007-06-16 23:21:20 Video of “Can’t Stop”
For Maroon 5 fans, it was well worth the wait even if it took a long, long time coming. Maroon 5 rode the success of its debut album Songs About Jane for quite a while, almost exhaustively in fact. But now with a new record entitled It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, the group and fans both have some new material to enjoy. And it was a healthy mix of the old and new, which the quintet dished out at a soldout Lee’s Palace last night as part of a small North American tune-up tour.
Led by the dapper looking Adam Levine, who appeared as if he just finished his shift working at a tailor’s shop, the group opened with If I Never See Your Face Again, the leadoff track off the new album.
The funky-meets-pop ditty, complete with a disco-tinged bridge section, got things off on the right foot as the crowd instantly seemed to warm to the track.
The tune was also a precursor of what was to come throughout the evening, with Maroon 5 often jamming Read more:Toronto

Interview: Maroon 5
by Malcolm Mackenzie. Thursday, June 14 2007
Maroon 5 are brilliant. No really, they are. You might not realise it but the new improved LA band are the closest we have to the classic pop gods of yesteryear and I “heart” them for that.
Let me explain. The first words I hear from singer Adam Levine is about cosmetics. He is not happy with his make-up girl’s choice of lip balm for him, Carmex.
“Anything petroleum based dries out the lips,” he declares, and makes do with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.
If only everyone made such an effort when they met me. He orders a salmon sandwich on brown bread and in a tight silver suit, leans back, legs spread onto the sofa. Sitting in on the interview, for what I imagine is morale, is Jesse
Carmichael ,the keyboardist who, like a quietly serene Madonna, is gently draped in a swathe of blue scarf.
“This album is really going to define who we are,” Levine beg

James - Nebraska’s Rock ‘n’ Roll History 2007-06-24 18:01:57
For those of you who don’t know, James
hails from Lincoln, Nebraska
. Here is a short article about him growing up there:
Before he was selling millions of records, playing to sold-out crowds and winning Grammy Awards with his band Maroon 5, Valentine taught guitar lessons at Dietze Music House in downtown Lincoln.
His interest in guitar developed at Irving Junior High and flourished at Southeast High School, whose other famous alums include singer-songwriter Matthew Sweet.
Throughout high school and college, Valentine played in several bands, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln jazz band and a pop-jazz trio called Square. In 2000, he and his bandmates in Square moved to Los Angeles. A year later, Valentine joined Maroon 5.
