16-0 on the NFL Network?!?! 2007-11-04 21:06:00 Alright, I know I'm looking a little far ahead here and jumping over way to many weeks for my own good but this is on my mind and I can't help it.Let's fast-forward to Sunday, December 29th, roughly around 7:15 Central time that evening...The New England Patriots will be on the road at Giants Stadium to take on the NY Giants. This could be for a perfect season. 15-0 heading into the game, one more for perfection. Now, I'm not going to debate if they will be able to or not, that has been done and will be done until they lose, well, if they do.What I do not like and am nearly upset about is that this game would be carried on the NFL Network. Yes, that NFL Network that the vast majority of the nation does not have access to. Cable companies, satellite TV providers, and whoever else you might get your programming from have been playing tug of war with the NFL Network since it first came out. Granted, the number of people who have access to the NFL Network has grown in the last year but

Week 10 picks 2007-11-11 01:01:00 Wow, its just getting embarassing for Zach at this point. I don't want to sound mean, but shame on Sports Illustrated for publishing the opinions of a sports-fool. Here are the standings: I went 4-1 yet again to improve to 30-15. Thats right, I'm getting 2 out of every 3 right, over a good amount of time. Make some money, bet on me. Then there's Zach. He went 1-4 last week, and is now peeking over .500, at 23-22. Good luck buddy.TITANS over JaguarsEAGLES over RedskinsSTEELERS over BrownsGIANTS over CowboysCOLTS over Chargers

UFC 78 Preview 2007-11-17 14:57:00 I figured that with the card at UFC 78 being what it is, the UFC could use all the publicity it can get... even if its a blog on The Neutral Site. The Main Event is being billed as the first ever meeting between two winners of The Ultimate Fighter reality show (Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping). Let me be the first to say, who cares? This card has "free on SpikeTV" written all over it. There could be some very entertaining fights, but simply put, the event is not worth 40 dollars. I reccomend getting out to a sportsbar and watching it there.Rashad Evans (-260) vs. Michael Bisping (+200)The main event of the evening... ::sigh:: Both men are undersized for 205, Bisping probably moreso. Evans comes in off a draw with Tito Ortiz, while Bisping comes in off a very controversial win over Matt Hamill. As far as I'm concerned, Bisping lost his last fight. The wrestler Hamill made Bisping look silly on his feet. Evans has the same wrestling background, but is much more well-rounded t Read more:Preview
Michigan - Ohio State 2007-11-17 13:51:00 Just about thirteen minutes to go in this game, and it's not an easy game to watch. It's a cold, rainy, defensive struggle. If not for a singular letdown on defense by the Wolverines, this is still a 7-3 game. But I'm really having problems with Chad Henne. I know he's a great quarterback, and is showing guts playing with the shoulder injury, but he just doesn't have it today. I'm not sure if its the shoulder or not, but right now he's just not giving his team a chance to win. He's overthrowing the ball, throwing behind receivers, and fumbling. I'm not going to argue that Ryan Mallett is a better overall quarterback, but at least he made some plays last week against Wisconsin. It's really a tough spot for Lloyd Carr though. How do you tell a senior playing in his last game ever, against OhioState
no less, that he has to take a seat? He better find a way though. Michigan
just got the ball back, still down two scores. It's now or never. Read more:Ohio State
Erin Andrews 2007-11-16 12:34:00 I'll never forget that moment. It was an unusually warm November night in Kansas City, Missouri. Two friends and I were settling into our seats in the Municipal Auditorium, awaiting the third place game in the 2005 Guardian's Classic - Kentucky vs. West Virginia. But the most exciting part of the trip happened before the first game even tipped off. There, walking across the court, live, and in person, was the great Erin Andrews
. It was love at first sight. But like all great love affairs, the passage of time tempered my feelings, and I was able to evaluate Andrews through an objective lens. Thats when I started to figure out how exactly she got her job.In case you missed it, Arizona upset #2 Oregon last night, as Erin Andrews patrolled the sidelines. The game was essentially lost in the first half when Ducks' star and Heisman front-runner when down with a knee injury. Dixon returned to the sidelines in the second half wearing street clothes. With about 2 minutes left in th
The Sad End to a Sorry Episode 2007-11-15 22:09:00 Remember when we actually blogged about sports? And the occasional mid-90's teen sitcom? Well I'm bringing that shit back. The title of this blog is actually a direct quote from A. Bartlett Giamatti, delivered the day Pete Rose was officially banned from baseball for life. The paralells between those events which took place almost two decades ago and the Barry Bonds saga are many. Except this isn't really the end of the Bonds episode, it's really just the beginning. On the off chance that you haven't heard yet, Barry Bonds has been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice. If convicted, Bonds could face up to 30 years in prison. During ESPN's wall-to-wall coverage of the developing story (ironically, I think they had to preempt an episode of Bonds on Bonds to cover it), they talked on the phone with former Mets General Manager and current ESPN Analyst. Something Phillips said really struck me. He said, and I'm para Read more:Episode
