I am going on holiday to the place in the picture sunny beach, Bulgaria. I’m going for 2 weeks for a nice break as I’ve now finished college and will be going to university in September. I’ve never been to Bulgaria before but I’ve heard its a up and coming place and very cheap! 50p a pint of lager (1$ for you U.S guys :). I will be taking lots of photos when I am there and will post some of the best ones on here when i get back. Now I’ve heard of Alexa before and I used to check my rankings on my previous websites and often they were very high. This is because Alexa only tracks your traffic if the user has their toolbar installed or your site has the Alexa widget installed. This is what I over looked on my other websites, as I’ve seen with installing the widget on this site over the past few days the weekly average has shot down into the 500k mark rather than 2 million.
You may ask why is Alexa rank important ? Well Alexa rank is used by a lot of sites for instance: payperpost, text-link-ads and bloggerwave. They use it as a indicator of how good your site or blog is. The better the blog or site you have the more money you will be able to make online through these types of companies.

My review of Sunny Beach, Bulgaria 2007-07-14 13:20:30 I’m back from sunny Bulgaria
(July 2007). Me and my girlfriend stayed in the golden dreams apartments/hotel in the resort of Sunny
beach, Bulgaria. We had an excellent time and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel was very clean and modern as the hotel is only 2 years old. The hotel has its own bar/restaurant which is excellent value for money for instance on the last night we had a salad each for a starter and spaghetti carbonara for main with 2 drinks each and it came to £10!
As far as I was aware Bulgaria was a very poor place, I expected all the cars to be really old like the old Russian lada, which you did see many of, but I was surprised to see new Porsche, Audi, Range Rover 4×4’s and some really nice other cars that I just wouldn’t have expected to see. Comparing the drivers to England they are all NUTS! I’m surprised I didn’t see any crashes whilst I was there!

Bidvertiser users beware! 2007-07-16 16:38:14
Returning from my holiday on Saturday it came to my attention that bidvertiser had taken £60 ($119) out of my current account and to my knowledge without my authorization. I hadn’t even exceeded the free $20 I got for signing up with them, they just automatically took it out. Obviously I wasn’t too pleased to find with this and as soon as I could I got on the phone to bidvertiser. They advised me they could refund the available balance from my account which all of a sudden had gone down by 6$ overnight.. to $113. I couldn’t be bothered to argue over 6$, so I accepted the refund for $113 (which will take 10 WORKING days to come through!) and they have now changed my account to manual payments only. So this is a warning to all you bidvertiser users
! make sure your account is set to manual payments! Ring them and get it sorted out before they dip into your account!

I’ve realized by actually saving money through vouchers/coupons your actually making money because you were going to spend that money anyway! I often shop on amazon with voucher codes

bling h2o - some people have too much money! 2007-07-15 13:25:07 Checking out the news today and I came across a new drink in America called Bling H2O which is just expensive water! People are paying up to $90 per bottle. The bottle is very nice and has Swarovski crystals in it, but still! $90 for a bottle of water.
The ritzy refreshment is bottled at a Tennessee spring and purified in a nine-step process that includes ozone, ultraviolet treatment and micro-filtration.
I think even if I was mega rich I wouldn’t be buying this stuff!

How to Increase RSS Readers / Subscribers 2007-07-24 06:06:04 If your a regular reader of Marc Eilbeck .com you will notice I have made some slight changes to the blog and implemented an RSS subscribe button and email field. As some of you know this is my first blog I have done so I wasn’t too sure exactly how to do this. So I’m guessing there will be a few more people like me out there that aren’t too sure either.
First thing to do is make sure your feed is running through feedburner as they have lots of tools for promoting your rss feed.

When I first started this blog I decided I wouldn’t do a link back for John Chow because his blog is just so massive I didn’t want to help it get any bigger even though I am a big fan of the man and a regular reader of his site. His site is similar to mine in the fact it helps you make money on the internet. He is offering a link back from his blog in exchange for a review of his blog.

Update your wordpress to the newest version automatically 2007-07-26 12:39:12 I know this has been posted on john chow recently but I wanted to let everyone know about it also and advise that I’ve used it and it works really well! I know when the wordpress update to 2.2 came out I meant to upgrade but never got round to it because it sounded like a lot of work and I didn’t want to mess anything up. Techie Buzz has released a plugin that will upgrade your blog automatically to the latest version
of wordpress. This plugin really impressed me all you have to do is download > extract > upload > activate! Then your running the new version of wordpress within like 1 minute or somthing!
Here is what WPAU does;
1. Backs up the files and makes available a link to download it.
2. Backs up the database and makes available a link to download it.
3. Downloads the latest files from http://wordpress.org/latest.zip and unzips it.
4. Puts the site in maintenance mode.
5. De-activates all active plugins and remembers it.
6. Upgrades wordpress files.

Getting hacked my experience 2007-07-29 07:15:39 I’ve had a couple of bad days! firstly my counterstrike 1.6 clan website got hacked then my directory got hacked then something messed up on the blog MySQL database and I couldn’t even see the site.. that then got sorted but I couldn’t edit or delete posts. Finally the site is now back up and running correctly so please accept my apologies for not posting the past few days
When I went to my directory site it got redirected to some hackers site saying ‘you have been f**ked by’ whatever the guys name was I can’t remember now I expect it was something like moron. He also had a picture of skull and cross bones.
I went over to my hosts support and they quickly resolved the problem for me but I lost most of the recent aditions to the site because it was reloaded from a backup.
I don’t understand why people hack sites, I really don’t, it doesn’t accomplish anything.

Missing Posts!?! 2007-08-02 12:32:32 I am running wordpress 2.2 and I updated my post last night and this morning I looked at the site and about 10 posts were missing!? fortunately I backed up my posts on 29/07 so I managed to get some of them back with comments but the others as you can had to be reposted. I’ve learnt from my lesson and will be backing up everyday. For those of you who don’t know how to back up your posts you can do it through your admin panel the go to manage > export.

I’ve been waiting a while and they still haven’t accepted me into their program even after I emailed them asking how long it would take with no response! I’ve come across a plugin that allows bloggers to sell their own text links. So you get paid instantly and pay no commissions. I have heard criticism off a lot of people about this sort of plugins because they advise you won’t get the same sort of promotion as you would with textlinkads, but this plugin has its own marketplace so possible advertisers will be able to see that your selling links.
I haven’t actually used this plugin myself but I would be interested to know if any of my readers have or are doing so they could let me know their opinion. As if TextLinkAds don’t accept me soon I think I will have to go elsewhere.

Make Money Online with AdSense Referral 2.0 2007-08-08 15:49:55 This is different to the normal adsense and is relatively new. Its not just referring people to use google adsense. You can choose what product you will be promoting. For example a few days ago I posted about Helium this was actually part of the google adsense referral program. The commission was $8.00 per sign up, in which one person did sign up. That one click and sign up which cost nothing to sign up earned me $8 thank you to whoever that was! but it just goes to show how easy it is..
