Sad Dreams
2006-11-06 16:17:00
I had the strangest, saddest dream I've had in a while. I was in this group of people and we were talking about their problems/ailments, when suddenly my right hand is hurting and I start opening and closing it (like you do when your hand feels stiff) and they start telling me I can't bend my fingers (in particular, my middle, ring, and pinky fingers). I say why and thay say don't you remember, you have cancer in your fingers and they discovered you can release cancerous particles into the air if you bend those 3 fingers! Well, I just start crying because I'm imagining having my fingers cut off and all the things I won't be able to do, that I only do well with my right hand. Like painting and bowling. It was sad. Then, I have another dream where I'm at this ocean and I'm supposed to go swimming with sharks with a friend (it was one of those dreams where you are supposed to know people, but they don't look like anyone you know in real life). She dives in and all of a sudde

You are NEVER going to believe this!!!
2006-08-15 14:27:00
At the risk of letting someone else do the talking, I am going to post what my husband already posted on a forum board he visits. He was pretty detailed and he wrote it fresh--as soon as we got home. I will quote him and add my thoughts outside of the quotes. This is just crazy."My wife, kids and I were just on our way to OKC from here in Stilly. My wife likes taking hwy 33 to I-35, going the Langston-Coyle way. Before we reach Langston, my wife starts shouting that there was a woman on the side of the road waving her arms and that she is going to turn around. My wife is all about helping. She turns around and this woman starts running toward our car screaming. Absolute hysterics. We get her to come to the passenger side and not the driver side, so she won't get hit, and she just keeps screaming, "DON'T LEAVE ME!! YOU HAVE TO HELP ME!" We ask her name, tell her to calm down because she is safe now, and what happened. She says she was taken from Wal-Mart in Waxahachie(sp) by a man

"just a kid"
2006-08-13 05:59:00
My sister gave my son this "toy" that teaches you math. He's in the back seat of the car and turns it on. It says, "are you ready to become a math expert!?" My son yells at the thing, "I don't want to be a math expert! I just want to be a kid!!" I just busted out laughing.

Beautifully written, but pissing me off . . .
2006-08-10 10:20:00
This was sent to me by a fellow homeschooler. It prompted me to respond with the following: oh my God! If you could see me now . . .tears running all the way down my chest. (really, they are) My grandmother always said she never saw anyone whose tears traveled like mine do. This was the saddest thing I have ever read at almost 3 in the morning. The whole time, I was saying to the lady, "just quit what you're doing and be with your kids." Seriously, that was what I was saying. She was pissing me off. I know a few people who really need to read this. Just yesterday, I created a new "schedule" in hopes of doing more with the kids. Yes, cleaning is on there, but not much. I actually made a two week schedule to get the house in order. I was supposed to start today, but I just didn't get to it. :) The kids wanted to finger paint! And we had to do it outside! And they had to change their clothes a kagillion times (because Parker is many, many different superheros . . .) An

weird things from the past
2006-06-01 05:30:00
So I get this random e-mail on my business site from someone I guess I knew in elementary school! The e-mail asks if it's "me", from "town", from "elementary school". Too weird. I STILL don't know who this person is. I responded, but haven't gotten an answer back yet. Maybe it's a secret admirer from my past who has decided to stalk me! That'd liven up the life a little, huh? Not that my life lacks action and excitement. It would just be a different kind of excitement. Well, talk to you later in another 3 months! Ha ha!!

I disappeared!
2006-02-17 17:01:00
Hey! Long time no see! I have been sooooo busy lately! As usual, I have too much on my plate. I started homeschooling Parker and he actually comes to me and says, "Can I do homeschooling now?" So cool! I'm taking it slow and relaxing in the beginning, so he doesn't feel forced to do anything. He IS still a little young. I want him to WANT to learn! And so far, it is working. He is so proud of himself right now, because he can read the word "STOP". He knows how to sound it out, but he forgets what the "T" is called. He always says, "what's that second letter?" We have a bunch of computer games for learning, but most are too old for him still. He wants to play them and then has to have me do it all. When I try to get him to play the younger games, he says, "but those don't teach me anything. I'm not learning." I explained that those younger games still teach him by working his thinking part of his brain. So now, he will pick out one of those games and say, "I want

The Sleepover
2006-01-14 05:18:00
My brother and sis-in-law had to go out of town friday night and won't be back until Sunday morning. Two of the three cousins are here, sleeping over. It's the first one. So far, it's been good. The older cousin (4 yrs) tries to throw a fit when things don't go his way. He's tired, so he's being passive-aggressive. Right now they are fighing over the covers. oh well. It's somewhat quiet fighting. I hope I get more sleep tonight than last. I've been kinda lethargic all day and I need my energy tomorrow, because they will be here ALL DAY. Not that I don't want them to be. I was just really tired to start with today. The reason I was so tired is I had my first game night last night. Four ladies plus myself. They each brought two kids, and one brought three. Well, there's also a one month old, but he doesn't count. He was attached to his mommy the whole time. So, that was a total of 11 kids! But it really didn't seem like that many. It was fun. We'll start d

It's The Final Countdown!
2005-12-30 05:48:00
No, not to the new year. Although that is true, too.I have officially declared Mon, January 9, 2006 as our Official Beginning of Homeschooling!! Dat-ta-dah! That is also "Coming of Age Day" in Japan, if that means anything. Anyway, that gives me time to put away all the Christmas decorations after the 1st, straighten up and prepare the area I plan to use for our "schooling" and continue to prepare Parker for what is to come. He seems very excited about it whenever I talk about it. He wants to learn so much stuff! "what letter is that?" "how does it sound?" "can I help you cook?" "how does a fossil get made?" "why does food get 'bad'?" "are there kids in the cemetary, too?" "why do things die?" "how do I write my name?" "why do girls have boobies?" Yes, he asked ALL of these questions and many more. And we are about to embark on something brand new to both of us. Something that will unlock a plethora of new questions. Something that may, at times, cause me to ask mys

Thirteen Things Party Pascha got for Christmas1. First and foremost, a Gamecube. It's the only thing I asked for from Hubby, so I got it a few days early when he made me go with him to get it. I love it!2. My brother & sis-in-law got me a card game called Quiddler. It's cool. You build words from lettered cards. There's even a solitaire version, so I can play when no one else wants to.3. My parents got me a hanging pot rack. Something I desperately need. The house truly lacks storage space!4. My sister got us a gift card to Rib Crib and put more $$ on it than I would have expected! Thanks, Sam! Tuesday night, all you can eat ribs, here we come!! :P5. My mother-in-law got me a griddle to put over the burners on the stove. Finally, I can cook pancakes for everyone--at the same time! or eggs AND bacon (or sausage or BOTH) at the SAME time! Awesome. :)6. She also got me the game: Name that Tune, 80's edition. Totally sweet! We already played it once.7. My parents

I put this together late last night, but it wouldn't let me change the date like I usually do. Weird. Also, if you can't read it, try highlighting the post. I didn't have time to try to change the color of the words. Thanks.Thirteen Things about Party Pascha1. This may sound totally gross to some of you, but I love marshmallow creme on crackers. I'm one of those sweet & salty people. And that little unhealthy snack totally hits the spot sometimes.2. I don't have a stocking for my daughter. She's 15 months (so she was here last year for Christmas) and I still don't have one for her. I made the three we have for us and my son. I would like for them to match, but I don't have the fabric anymore. Would it be so bad if I waited until next year to update the stockings? I just don't have time right now.3. All this time (since before Thanksgiving) Parker has been asking for 2 main items for Santa to bring him. Yesterday he sees something on t.v. and says he wants that n

Independence kid
2005-12-02 05:26:00
In his new found quest for independence (he's finally figured out the pooping in the potty this week!), Parker attempted to cook his own food in the microwave. This morning, he went downstairs, got into the fridge for a piece of "be-yony" (bologna) and a hotdog, wrapped the hotdog with the "be-yony" and put it in the microwave. He then (as he later told us) pushed "all the buttons" and came upstairs. I was asleep during all of this and was awakened to the smell of charred something. As I was going downstairs, Parker says to me, "The be-yony is gross. It's scary." Me: "Did you try to cook some bologna?" Parker: "yeah. It's scary now. It's all black"So I get to the microwave. It is totally charred. We are so lucky it didn't catch fire or something. WHAT are we going to do with him?!By the way, the brown on the paper towel was already there, not from this instance. The item on the left is the hotdog. The be-yony unrolled to the right.

Thirteen Things

Thirteen Things about Party Pascha1. I hate moving and packing and moving. ugh! But it's all almost over!2. I used to feel like I had to go "do" stuff away from the house, but now that I won't have to "go" anywhere most of the time, I feel like I can finally enjoy my kids. At home. How relaxing.3. I have never been much of a housekeeper. (Well, that's not true. I cleaned constantly when I was in jr. high and high school. But I kept up with it, so it was easy, mostly.) But lately, I have been trying to keep up with stuff, so it doesn't get so out of hand again, and Chris said to me: "why are you doing so much wifey stuff?" I guess it freaked him out or something.4. I wish I had more traffic to my site like my sis-in-law . Maybe if I stay on top of posting . . .5. I hate trying to figure out what to get my in-laws for Christmas. Not you, Ammie. Them. I think Chris should have to do his own family. But I do all the shopping.6. Does my son smoke crack when I am not

Playing Around
2005-11-16 05:32:00
I have always loved games. Puzzles, mind games, strategy, and just silly games. We already own an original Playstation, a Playstation 2, and an XBOX. But the kind of games I absolutely LOVE to play aren't available on any of these systems. So, after about oh, 2 seconds of thinking what I want my husband to get me for Christmas, I said a Game Cube. It's the cheapest of all the systems, but in my personal opinion, it has the BEST games! The kiddy type character games that a 10 yr old can get through in a day. But for me, it takes a while, but I love every minute of it. I've heard they coming out with a new Game Cube, called Game Cube Revolution. It's supposed to be pretty dang awesome. But it won't be out until Spring. I've wanted a Game Cube for over 2 years now. I just don't want to wait any longer. Besides, the new one will be in the price range of those other ones and I don't want to spend that much. I'll get the Revolution later down the line when the price co

too busy

I was planning on doing the Thursday 13, but I got too busy with the moving of the shop and totally forgot! It really makes me mad, too. Because I really wanted to do it. I guess I'll just do it next Thursday.

I Totally Forgot!
2005-11-09 07:00:00
I had planned on posting Halloween pics and have been so busy I forgot! So here they are: Parker is Darth Vader and Lydia is a funky witch (Parker kept saying she was a CHUNKY witch!)And Here are some pumpkins Chris did. Yes, I was impressed.

The end is near
2005-11-09 06:41:00
Sleeping Mommy has talked about it, and it is getting closer . . .The business is escaping it's prison-like coccoon & will become the free butterfly it has longed to be. Okay, the building is out of the picture and it will now be a delivery service. And today, the phone was ringing off the hook! Just from word of mouth! Totally cool! Oh, and I can't wait to see the website Jenny, at Digitally Essential is creating for us! It will have the logo I created, but with more funky retro additions. At least that's what I am hoping for . . . :)I can't sleep lately because I just keep thinking about ways to advertise, etc. And now that about $1000 of overhead per month has been eliminated, we might finally get to make a profit!! (fingers crossed & whisper a prayer)Well, I be going for now. Once the move is done, I'll have more time for blogging.

Weird Things from the Past, Episode II
2006-08-11 17:35:00
If you will go to this post and read the 2nd and 3rd posts, it is happening again! People are finding me and contacting me. I think it is cool, actually. But yet, still weird. I am always reminiscing in my mind about events and people and what-not. And that always causes me to wonder if they remember me like I remember them? And do they think about the kinds of things I think about, if they do remember me? And are the thoughts happy, sad, angry, or what? You know? The person who found me that I mentioned in my previous post remembered something that I didn't even remember. And I guess I caused him to have a love for redheads for the rest of his life. I find that so flattering, yet kind of sad. Sad, because I never even knew he liked me. Granted, it was in 3rd (?) grade, but st
