41 killed in massacre 2006-10-21 12:36:43 The Ugandan news paper The Monitor reports that 41 people were killed in ambushes near Juba in Southern Sudan. According to witnesses they were carried out by rebels with short rasta hair, which connects them to the Lord’s Resistance Army of Joseph Kony.
The peace talks in Juba between the LRA and the Uganda government recently stalled. The second in command in the LRA, Col. Joseph Kony, blames the Uganda government, and the latter blames the LRA. Although Otti admitted that he send some troups to look for food.
The witnesses say that the attack were carried out by two girls and three boys soldiers. The rebels are now assembled in two camps in Southern Sudan, awaiting the results of the talks. Otti said there is not enough food there.
This game has been going on for twenty years now, and hopefully it will not endanger the current peace talks even more.

Cyber dating 2006-10-19 14:11:59 Am in the internet cafe at the moment, for some upload.
Just came to notice something.
Many people use the Internet to find a mate or a partner. You can see so many people accessing dating services on the web.
In Nairobi there seems to be a new phenomenon.
It feels like the cyber cafe is changing into a meeting point it self. Especially ladies can be dressed very smart or even sexy, with the right make up and topped up with a perfume. Sometimes it’s just incredible how beautiful they can be. You don’t expect them in a cyber.
Just crossed my mind how many girls take the seat next to you, and then start a conversation based on what they have on the screen. ‘Shall I e-mail you some jokes?’ or other openers.
Then from the cyber it’s easy to invite each other for lunch, and…
If you think of it, it’s almost obvious, and inventive. In the usual meeting place like bars and discos, it seems you might easily meet the wrong person who’se after Read more:Cyber

Hotel Afrique - Hotel Africa, vol. 1. 2006-10-11 12:19:15 Tuesday 10 October 2006
Name: Mid-View Central Hotel
Where: Latema Road, Nairobi
Double: 1,500 Kenya Shilling, including breakfast.
"What would you like for breakfast, sir?' The eyes of the lady at the reception are peeking seriously behind the bars of the counter. It is ten in the evening, and my stomach is full from the beef stew, or rather the few Tuskers I enjoyed with it in Trendz Bar. "How can I think of eating when I just have eaten?' I gently ask her. She lifts her shoulders a bit. "It's okay,' she says and wants to take back the form she just handed out. "Okay,' I said, and started to make a choice for the next morning. Toast, fried eggs for me. Boiled eggs for my beautiful wife. So I was ticking the options, and returned the paper. The lady studied my choices. "Would you like sausages to it?' she adds with big eyes. That night we slept well, ensured of a copious breakfast in Mid-View Central Hotel, Nairobi. The hotel is located in a huge white building on Read more:Africa
Hotel Africa - Hotel Afrique 2006-10-10 16:36:17 New serie on Videoreporter:
Being a video reporter involves travelling regularly, and sleeping in all sorts of places. It can be the Inter-Continental in Lusaka, the Sheraton in Addis Ababa, or just a hotel on everymen’s corner in Kwale or Tunduna. Today it gave me the idea to portrait these hotels, and give them my personal Africa
ranking.
How many sausages would you like sir?

Welcome new governor! 2006-09-28 16:18:36
Sometimes travelling you’ll find cultural traditions that gives you these double feelings.
Shown here is a traditional dance performed in Kuajok in Southern Sudan, where I was for reports. These girls are dancing to welcome the new governor, who recently ascended the throne.
A dance like this is definitely quite nice, but on the other hand it makes me think about things I don’t like. These girls now are beautiful, but still they are most likely not educated, will be married off soon , and are badly marked from top until bottom for the rest of their life.
Even though I don’t want to forget about this beauty that makes many African countries real African.
Enjoy!

Songs from the cattle camp - Southern Sudan 2006-09-09 17:01:10
For thousands of years the Dinka and other tribes in SouthernSudan
are keeping their cattle
in dedicated camps, outside the villages. There the animals are milked and taken care of. During the ages a variety of cattle songs have developed, and they are still sung daily.
In this rare video we are in a cattle camp just outside the town of Rumbek.
