Presidential elections in India 2007-06-02 20:12:23 The present President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam became the 11th President of India
on 25th July 2002. But as the Indians wake up on the 25th July they will have a new President even though they have not gone to the ballots. But let’s take it from the beginning.
The President of India (Rashtrapati in hindi) is the head of state, first citizen of India and the Supreme Commander of the Indian armed forces. The role is mostly ceremonial, with the real executive authority vested in the Council of Ministers, headed by the Prime Minister (since 22 May 2004 the first Sikh to have the position is Manmohan Singh). The power of the President of India are comparable to those of the monarch of United Kingdom.

EU pushing dead constitution 2007-06-02 17:00:29 Even though the constitutional process died two years ago, federalists within the European Union continue to push a document that would greatly strength Brussels’ control over the bloc.
France might have rejected the constitution, but the country’s new president, Nicolas Sarkozy, wants to implement much of the defeated document.

End multiculturalism in favor of Britishness 2007-06-05 01:07:52 If creating a new national holiday will preserve the unity of the United Kingdom then the proposal to create a “Britain Day” should be supported.
The monarchy is suppose to bring Britons together behind a unifying and non-political figure, however, since coming to power in 1997, Labour has made it a mission to end tradition and unionism by promoting devolution – which could only logically end at independence – for the nations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

A real substitute for Kyoto 2007-06-04 05:00:41 Let me begin by saying that I care about the environment. I really, with all sincerity, do. I keep, next to my garbage can, a cardboard box designated for paper to be recycled. About 87% of this paper is from credit card offers which I receive everyday. Anyway, the point is, I keep this box and add paper for about a month and I then drop it off at a nearby recycling center. I drive away convinced that I saved the world and applaud myself. The constitutional treaty isn’t democratic 2007-06-14 23:08:21 It’s rather odd that only 20 years after Ronald Reagan called on the communists to “tear down” the Berlin Wall, which initiated the liberation of millions from oppression, that the European Union is slowly resembling anything but a democracy.
