Did anyone watch the debate?
2007-08-05 18:15:58
After missing the morning debate between Republican presidential candidates on ABC, one has to wonder if anyone actually saw it. While the hard-core politicos surely caught the Sunday oddity, I doubt few regular “Average Joes” actually turned on the TV and watch ed it at a time when many Americans were in church or getting ready for morning worship. Fred Thompson’s campaign woes
2007-08-08 14:45:35
Earlier today Fred Thompson announced that he is tapping Bill Lancey, a former strategist for Reagan, Dole, and the RNC, to be his third campaign manager. This is particularly troubling for supporters considering the campaign has yet to officially launch. Thompson said in a statement released today, “[Bill Lancey] turned around my campaign for Senate in 1994 and, as I move toward a decision on whether to run for president, I am confident he will take our operations to the next level.” This announcement comes amid rumors of staff butting heads with his wife, who had been acting as his de facto campaign manager. Fred Thompson was considered the main threat to front runner Rudy Giuliani earlier this summer, as conservatives dissatisfied with the pool of Republican candidates looked for someone that was both conservative and had a chance to win. Thompson’s poll numbers mid-summer appeared to overtake Giuliani, however, when the July 4th date of the official announcement o

Got change? A dilemma on who owns the euro
2007-08-14 09:22:41
The 17th century classical liberal philosopher John Locke used the emergence of currency as the justification for the modern state. As part of my lobbyist internship in Brussels, I’ve had the dubious pleasure this summer of spending a different currency than I’m used to, not in a modern state, but in a supranational entity that sometimes thinks it is – the European Union. A dilemma I’ve come across in Brussels is what to do with the 1 and 2 eurocent coins. These two extremely low-value coins are among the eight different coins with values between 1 cent and 2 euros. A vast amount of them are in circulation, totalling over €438 million in value, and most of these are either stored away in marmalade jars or found at the bottom of wish-fountains throughout the European continent. RWW’s summer vacation nearly over
2007-08-13 20:57:26
Editor’s note — As you have probably noticed, the updates to RightWingWorld.com have been rather irregular in the second half of summer. RWW’s regular publishing schedule will resume by the end of August.

Paved with intentions – good and hidden

If anyone had to pinpoint the dominant political ideology in the beginning of the 21st century, global warming would be it. Across the board, conservatives as well as socialists are adopting the agenda set forth by scientists and politicians to reduce CO2-emissions and focus on alternative forms of energy. The consequences for the environment and the market are serious. (more…)

Liberal gov’t plans more spending ahead of election
2007-08-20 09:42:49
One of the better examples of a tax-and-spend government can be found in the Canadian province of Ontario, where the government plans to spend an “unexpected” budget surplus of $2.3 billion (US$2.1 billion). Instead of giving a refund to the overtaxed, hard-working people of Ontario, Liberal Party Premier Dalton McGuinty has announced spending schemes ahead of the provincial election on October 10. 11-M
2007-11-01 00:08:16
The Halloween of 2007 will be a date written with blood in Spanish history. This morning, at 11am the judge Gomez Bermudez made public the sentence on the trial of the 11th of March 2004 terrorist attacks. A close look at the sentence arouses serious questions on what really happened. (more…)
