Funky Flower Pins 2007-04-25 03:00:35 I have been on a pin kick recently, probably because Mother’s Day is coming up and I know that many Moms love pins. This is a fused glass flower pin that just came out of the kiln today. It has blue and white art glass petals and a dichroic jewel in its center. I also put a couple similar pins in my Etsy shop.

Love Seeds - Quilts and Bags
I got this great retro daisy quilted zipper pouch from Cindy of Love Seeds. Cindy specializes in bright and beautiful quilts, and also makes quilted purses. I was extremely impressed by the level of craftsmanship in the little zipper pouch that I got from Cindy, and it’s a great place to store my business cards!
Drunken Peach Preserves by Pans Pantry
I was tipped off to the wonders of Pans Pantry artisan jams by another Etsyian who said that their Drunken Peach Preserves was the most delicious thing she had ever tasted. After trying the jam, made with “large chunks of peaches swimming drunkenly in a full ounce of Courvoisier Cognac,” I have to say, I definitely agree.

Beautiful glass jewelry designs by Etsy Glass Artists 2007-06-05 00:24:45 I am so excited to share these jewelry designs from two of my favorite glass artists: Michelle of Shoozles Fused Glass Jewelry and Poppy of Groovy Glass Girl, made with my fused glass cabochons using two different techniques.
Michelle created this Lavender Wisp Necklace by wire wrapping a cabochon with sterling silver wire. She then strung it with bright lavender and deep purple seed beads for a beautiful summer look. Michelle is also a glass artist, and I absolutely love her amazing use of color. Check out her work on Etsy, but be warned - you’re definitely going to want to own it!
Using similar materials, Poppy created an entirely different look. She surrounded a dichroic cabochon with hand twisted and hammered antique copper to create this gorgeous Blue Dichro Filigree Pendant. In addition to jewelry, Poppy also creates decorative stained glass pieces, like this dragonfly stained glass suncatcher. Browse all of her gorgeous stained glass items in her Etsy shop.

from PMC (silver clay) and a dichroic cabochon.
After firing this piece in her Ultra-Lite kiln, she patinaed it with liver of sulfer to give it an antique look. So pretty!

Marine Jewelry Designs: Glass Nautilus and Dolphin 2007-06-14 12:33:01 I have been obsessed with ocean-inspired designs this week.
I made this nautilus pendant out of pink Coatings by Sandberg dichroic glass and pink art glass. I cut it with a special glass saw and then side drilled it to string it on a Greek leather cord.
I made this dolphin pin with a similar process. I cut the dolphin shape out of a sheet of glass with a glass saw and I added texture with fine purple and blue frits. Then I affixed a pin with a pinch-clutch to his back. Read more:Designs

Slumped Plates 2007-06-26 12:10:08 I have been experimenting with fused glass plates this week. I found this awesome photo on Flickr and I decided to create a piece based on it.
I used liquid glass and cake decorating tools to create a ‘painting’ on a 4 inch square sheet of glass. This is a photo of the glass a few minutes after I finished the painting. It is already almost completely dry and ready to go into the kiln.
The colors get a lot brighter when they are fired. I stacked the painting on top of iridescent glass to give it a hint of shimmer. After fusing the plate in the kiln I slumped it (added a slight bend) over a plate mold. This second photo is of the finished product. Read more:Plates
Beautiful PMC Pendant by MangoTango 2007-07-02 02:34:31 Check out the photo I just received from one of my customers. What a gorgeous pendant! It was hand crafted by Etsy’s MangoTango out of precious metal clay and dichroic glass. So pretty!
I also love The Tribe has Spoken pendant, which is awesome both because of the Survivor theme, and because it’s absolutely stunning.

Chinese Knot Jewelry 2007-09-17 16:26:26 Check out this beautiful necklace created by Adornments by BJ with one of my fused glass pendants. She used medium blue and dark olive cord in three ornamental knots to make this piece: the beginnings of a Prosperity Knot, a Connection Knot and a Snake Knot. The necklace comes with a pair of matching dangle earrings.
