iBloglines, do you? 2007-07-23 14:59:59 Unlike most of the tech
world, we've been doing more than just playing with our beloved new
iPhones. We've been adapting our apps
to integrate with them. Case in point: our lead developers
Paul Querna's weekend project,
now complete and known to us as iBloglines.
We then gathered our iPhone enabled staff to test iBloglines
(and, in general, marvel over our new toys).
Thanks to our team, I can present to you iBloglines,
optimized for the iPhone. iPhoners, fire up your browsers and go to
i.bloglines.com.
Then touch/tap your screen to feed-reading heaven.
As a preview here's a screenshot of iBloglines.
Enjoy!

Meets, Greets, and Feeds at Gnomedex 2007-08-13 21:08:08
You know a conference is going to be good when the first person you run into
is one of your power users. For
Gnomedex 2007,
my first conference as the new GM of Bloglines, I hoped to meet many Bloglines
fans, and sure enough, I wasn't disappointed.
Mike Davidson, CEO of
Newsvine, who says his
second most important
thing in life is Bloglines, got me started off in style We chatted and he told
me some of his favorite features and the way he uses Bloglines. He likes the
hack by John Hicks for a Mac-like interface.
Later in the day, I got to meet Stan James,
Founder and CTO of Lijit. Friends told me to
be sure to talk to him. He's a bit of a wunderkind who got VC interest in his
PHD dissertation. Also, he's a big fan of Bloglines and has been analyzing
public Bloglines data and talking with other researchers for a while now.
On Saturday, I was spacing out for a moment when I noticed the person in
front of me scanning through loads of feeds at lightspeed. Once I noticed the

Sew,Mama,Sew! on the Move 2007-11-07 17:00:00
Warning: This post might cause strong reactions. Please do not operate heavy machinery while reading.
Sew, Mama, Sew! debuts this week in the Bloglines Top 1000,
climbing 790 spots from last week to claim the title of Biggest Mover. It leapt over top feeds like
USATODAY.com Travel - Top Stories
and the Drudge Report.
Other feeds on the move include Marc Andreessen's blog.pmarca.com,
Design*Sponge,
and MIT's Technology Review Feed.
Coming in at 1000 and debuting for the first time is 1000 Confessions of a Pioneer Woman.
It's a great example of a independent voice that has attracted a strong community. Pioneer Woman has great stories and sweet photos (we love the
cinnamon rolls.)
Why the Bloglines Top 1000?
People ask us all the time about what Blogliners read. We've had the Bloglines Top 200 for the last couple of years,
but wanted to highlight even more independent voices. We felt this was important because many have been lamenting the
Bloglines for the iPhone and Mobile Phones - Reminder 2007-12-04 16:41:14
Last week, I met a big name blogger who is also a dedicated user of Bloglines
.
I couldn't help but notice his iPhone
typing skills. He was clearly pounding out
at 40 words per minute which is super-fast on the iPhone. I was really excited to
hear his impressions on iBloglines, our iPhone optimized version of Bloglines.
Unfortunately, he hadn't heard of iBloglines. I was crestfallen. I realized I needed
to do a better job telling Blogliners about our great products.
No better time than the present to remind everyone of the great Bloglines mobile
products. We have 2 major product sets: iBloglines for iPhones
and Bloglines for
mobile phones.

Blog View - More Goodness for Bloglines Beta 2007-12-19 17:30:45
One of the problems with a feed reader is that you can't see the blog in its
full glory. We've solved that problem in Bloglines
Beta. We've created a setting in 3-Pane View which allows you to get all of
that bloggy goodness in your feed reader. Plus, you can get easy access to the
comments, other features or, heck, even click on an ad to help you favorite blogger.
This is great for highly designed blogs that cover knitting, design, art or funny
pictures of cats. Here's how you get access to the feature. Go to 3-Pane View.
Click on a headline. Look for the Preview or RSS buttons to toggle between
Feed View and Blog View (see below).
You can see the differences below with a feed from one of our favorite blogs,
icanhascheezeburger.

Bloglines Beta Launches Saved 2007-12-17 20:18:18
We've been busy working on Bloglines
Beta to provide some stocking stuffers
for everyone during this holiday season. Tonight we rolled out Saved. Later in
the week, we'll talk about a couple of other features: Flickr Widget and Blog
Preview.
Just as it sounds, this features allows you to save a post for future
reference. Many of our Blogliners are active filers who like to save their
favorite posts. It's very easy. Let me walk you through the feature.
You'll notice at the bottom of an article a new "Save" button located
in-between "Pin" and "Email."
Clicking on the "Save" button creates a new inline window where you can add
a comment and save the post to a specific folder.
To get to your saved articles, click on the "Saved" button in the left-hand
corner of your screen. Simple!
You might ask, "Why have "Pin" and "Save"?" Sometimes you want article
"Pinned" in your reading flow so you're forced to look at it again to really
absorb the complexity of the

Bloglines Beta Gets Search, Flickr View and Improved Add Page 2008-03-24 20:56:23 We've deployed all the features mentioned in the previous blog post. Here's a recap:
Search
Blog search is finally in Beta, and we've incorporated some popular Ask 3D features. For example, related searches are displayed in the right-hand column next to results. All of classic's features are still there, but with newer styling.
Flickr
View
Selecting a Flickr feed and viewing it in quick view now uses the Flickr API to show images at their maximum resolution.
Add Page
Beta's old add page was spartan, to say the least. The new Add page has package tracking, weather feeds, and a new feature: Packs. You can now add popular categories of feeds with a single mouse click.
Enjoy!

Bloglines Expands Embedded Video Support 2008-06-02 14:11:11 We've been spending a lot of time working on improving the back-end of Bloglines
, but we wanted to share some fun for you Blogliners out there.
More and more of our feeds have embedded video, so it was a no-brainer to offer greater video support. We've cleared over 30 different video sites to stream video through Bloglines. It's a broad list including Blip.tv, Break.com, Brightcove, Cnet, CNN Read more:Support
