SHIP program have recently been revised. Due to the overwhelming demand, potential applicants must be a resident of Citrus County
for twelve continuous months in order to apply. Also, the program was open to both low and moderate income households, and has now been revised to solely serve very low and low income households.What is the SHIP Program
? The Citrus County SHIP program provides help for first time home buyers with lower incomes that meet certain requirements. There are many who have enough income to make the monthly payments on a mortgage and would like to own, but rent, as they do not have the reserve funds for a large enough downpayment.
