Cats
2007-05-25 15:50:01
This great post was first supplied to me by my daughter Anna 1 -Law of Cat Inertia A cat at rest will tend to remain at rest, unless acted upon by some outside force - such as the opening of cat food, or a nearby scurrying mouse. 2 - Law of Cat Motion A cat will move in a straight line, unless there is a really good reason to change direction. 3 - Law of Cat Magnetism All blue blazers and black sweaters attract cat hair in direct proportion to the darkness of the fabric. 4 - Law of Cat Thermodynamics Heat flows from a warmer to a cooler body, except in the case of a cat, all heat flows to the cat. 5 - Law of Cat Stretching A cat will stretch to a distance proportional to the length of the nap just taken. Where Do Pets Come From?
2007-05-25 14:38:13
A newly discovered chapter in the Book of Genesis has provided the answer to “Where do pets come from?” Adam and Eve said, “Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you any more. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us.” And God said, I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves.” And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased. And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, “Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal.”And

Treatment of Pets
2007-05-23 07:39:11
Have you ever stopped to consider the way dogs are treated by so many people in this country? While they are cute, cuddly puppies and the kids love them, they are the center of attention. This is especially evident if they are “status symbol dogs”; by that I mean the breed is currently featured in a movie or tv show. However, once that cute puppy grows up and becomes a rambunctious young dog, often sorely in need of proper training and attention, they are cast aside, banished to a life in the back yard, or the ultimate fate, taken to the pound. It’s a shameful disgrace. A few years ago, I worked with a couple who, in the 5 years that I knew them, went through 4 beautiful dogs and 2 cats - all “put out with the trash” once they reached maturity. They moved away a year ago (dumping their current dog at the local pound first), so I’ve thankfully lost track of their pitiful heartlessness.

This Blogs Purpose

I love animals; all sorts of animals. I also love to write. So, I’ve decided to create a blog writing about not only the pets and animals that touch my life, but also about how todays world affects them. It’s a cruel and heartless world out there and there are far too many people who are prepared to do just about anything to an animal to make a dollar. Having said that, I don’t intend to depress either myself or any visitor who happens upon my blog. Thankfully there are already many excellent blogs I can reference who write far more eloquently on these subjects than I ever can. My pets consist of two female Dalmatians - Tansy and Poppy, and two female cats - Pepper and Saffron. All except Tansy came from rescue shelters. My two daughters also have a variety of pets including birds, cats, dogs and reptiles. I’ll cover all of them individually in upcoming posts.

4PetsOnline Has Changed!
2007-05-15 14:49:09
4PetsOnline has changed from a regular web site to a blog. Web sites tend to be very isolated in their approach, while a blog invites - in fact encourages - participation from all its visitors. I will be making frequent posts on matters that concern all pets, great or small and I really hope everyone who reads my words will be inspired to leave their own comments.

Introducing My Own Pets
2007-06-16 13:47:35
We (my husband and I), share our home with four four-legged friends. Or is that right - maybe they share their home with us? We have two dalmatians - Tansy who will be 16 in September, and Poppy whose age we cannot be sure of because she’s a rescue dog. We’ve had her since July 1999 and when she was adopted she was estimated to be between one and two years old so that makes her around nine or ten. We also have two cats - Pepper, a pretty little calico we adopted from a shelter on 9/11 (yes, the same day!) and Saffron (Saffy), a grey and white who we adopted a year later. (more…)

Pooch Fiction - The 7 Sinful Dog Food Ingredients To Avoid At All Cost
2007-11-08 15:47:52
Almost everyday, we see the images dog food manufacturers broadcasted through TV, newspaper and magazine advertisements extolling the virtues of buying their brands of dog food. Some dog food companies want us to believe their dog food brands can provide all the nutrition our companion will ever need. That is the fiction concocted by many commercial dog food companies and nothing can be further from the truth! In fact, we may be feeding our dogs contaminated dog food, loaded with slaughterhouse waste, toxic materials, junk fillers, preservatives, additives, heavy metals , pesticides, herbicides and other harmful chemicals. Just look at the frequent high number of dog food recalls. And guess what, your pet dog is not getting the necessary healthy animal fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fiber it needs to live longer. The U.S pet food industry is a $15 billion a year business and the top pet food manufacturers are owned by multinational companies. Some of these companie

Are All Pet Foods The Same?
2007-11-08 14:16:16
Your dog is a part of your family and you want your pet to live a long and very healthy life. Your dog is always there for you, ready to play, snuggle, always loyal. Your pet relies on you, as their owner, to take care of them, give them a warm place to sleep, water to drink and healthy dog food to eat. They are not able to choose what is best for them. Are you looking to buy the generic brand to save a few dollars? Are all dog foods the same? The answer is no, they’re not. There are so many ingredients put into dog food that you can’t even pronounce. Saving a few dollars now could cost you later at the vet’s office when your baby dog food, pet food starts to have some health issues. Surprisingly some premium pet foods are comparable in price because you actually feed less as they are more nutrient dense than their cheap counterparts. So many dog foods have mainly fillers that they label as protein. They are things such as soybean meal, corn meal, corn gluten meal, an

The New 4PetsOnline
