Watch Live TV on symbian v3 and other mobile phones! 2007-05-23 03:37:44 Vimio (vimio.com) has this Live TV application that is worth a try.
This screen-shot was taken on a low speed n/w (no EDGE/3G) using my E70. I have seen better quality when tried on EDGE n/w.
The voice quality is good. The channel list includes CNN, Sky News, Travel Channel etc.
Enjoy the idiot box on your phone till DVB-H becomes popular!
Nokia MapLoader now expands footprint, includes Indian maps 2007-05-21 03:41:52 I have been really waiting for Nokia
to cover the countries that matter to me. Thankfully, they have now included India in their maps software.
I am downloading them and plan to write more after giving them a test run.
Till then, heres a screenshot of the download..
TinyTube rocks! 2007-05-19 13:24:14 The search for on-demand mobile video entertainment seems to be best catered by a new wap site I recently stumbled upon. It is TinyTube.net. The name itself tells you what the site is about. In their own words “TinyTube provides search and video proxy services for mobile devices. It enables search and video playback from several major video sharing services .. .. ..etc. etc.“
Simply put: You can easily watch videos hosted on several major video sharing sites on your decent video equipped phone.
The site is very simple to use, fast, and well designed. On the home page, you enter the video to search for. Then you can select either one or all of the video sharing websites. Mind you, you tube is not on the list, but the long list which contains ‘Break, Dailymotion, Filecabinate, Google, Grouper, Metacafe, Myspace, Veoh’ should make up for it.
Here is a screen shot when I searched for “Shrek third”
I have so far searched for a lot of videos and the results have

Nokia Maploader: Indian mobile maps (Mumbai, Pune, Chennai) review 2007-06-18 05:13:56 As promised, I am back with a review
of Nokia
Maploader, now covering Indian maps.
Before starting with actual maps, few words about the basic maps software:
The maps load pretty fast. If the map of an area is not installed on the phone, then it is automatically downloaded OTA.
Zooming in and out is very easy.
Users can switch between satellite view / map view as well as 2D and 3D view.
Route finder feature of this software is also pretty useful.
Best part is, the route simulation, where the calculated route is rendered in 3D with voice guidance about turns and distances!
But this software eats up a lot of phone RAM making it slow.
Overall, the software is useful and can be downloaded at www.smart2go.com
Now about the maps:
Mumbai
(Bombay) maps are in good detail. So are of Delhi and surprisingly of Pune(Poona)!
What comes as a bigger surprise and a turndown is that Maps of cities like Chennai
, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc. do not have any details at all! Only the highways and s

1. Download and install Nokia MapLoader PC software
2. Take the memory card out of your mobile device and insert it into a card reader connected to your computer.
3. Run Nokia MapLoader, choose country and download the map.
4. Put the memory card back in the phone, start Maps software, and you are DONE!
Way 2: Through USB Cable
** To go by this method, you must run the phone version on Maps software once. This will create the necessary folder structure on the memory card **
