How to Choose a Wedding Photographer for your Wedding and things to consider. 2007-05-21 19:06:05 Here are some tips to help you Choose your Wedding Photographer
for your special Day.
1. Ask your friends for a personal referral, most couples are the best sources for choosing.. been there done that sort of thing so, take their advice since experience is a good gauge to judge photographers. Build a short list of wedding photographers and do your research. Take time out and see which photographers styles best suit your taste and budget.
2. Dont Settle for mediocre, go for the best that you can afford. For an added bonus, find out if any of your guests is into photography, you may be pleasantly surprised at their skills to deliver better candid shots since photographer and crew are highly focused on the ceromonies.
3. Visit their Websites, Since this is a digital world now, most photographers should be online.. techonology has been the name of the game and any decent photographer should have the capacity to even setup a basic website… its all in the photos, they should speak for Read more:things
Digital Sensor Sizes and How they affect how you see the image. 2007-05-20 22:56:46 DigitalSensor
Sizes and How they affect how you see the image.
here is a short lesson in sensor sizes.
The reason I write about this is to give basic sample of how sensor sizes affect the final image. as you can see in the first image, sensor sizes arent created equal and so far the 35mm film sensor size is limited to a few brands.
To date only Canon’s 1Ds/1DsMkII/5D and the Kodak DCS 14N have reached the holy grail of a full framed sensor. The rest of the Canon digital cameras use a 1.6X crop while our beloved nikons use a 1.5x crop factor and the rest use either the 4/3 system or smaller.
The first 2 sizes 1/3″ -2/3″ are generally used by cellphone digital cameras.. the original photo is so small that when enlarged you see all the imperfections of the small lens and camera and noise comes out more because even noise is “enlarged”
noise.. thats another topic.. but generally people should stick with the rule that the higher your ISO settings is the more
KODAK Philippines Bids Adieu To RP 2007-05-20 07:03:41 KODAK Philippines
Bids Adieu To RP: getting the story right
by Edwin F. Hermoso
The “short” version of it, is that Kodak Philippines will continue to exist in the Philippines - specifically for the Entertainment Imaging (motion picture), and Graphics Communications Group (docu scanning, digital printing press etc). The Health Group (Xrays etc) was bought-off worldwide by a Canadian Conglomerate called Onex. They continue to use the Kodak brand, and are represented in the Philippines by Carestream Philippines. Carestream is comprised of ex-Kodak Health Group people.
The Consumer Digital & Film, Photofinishing Group will transition to Distributor Model by May 31. All this means is that the operations will revert from the Multinational Eastman Kodak Company, to a local company (Techtrends Corp.) comprised of the former employees of the same division. The owners, in fact, put in their separation pay to fund this venture - plus the commitment of Eastman Kodak to see this thr
How to Check and Remove/Clean sensor dust on your CCD or CMOS sensors on your Digital Cameras. 2007-05-19 22:28:55 Recently got an email asking how I clean my camera.. so i decided to put a short list of acceptable cleaning practices digital photographers use today.
There are two ways to clean the sensor fo your DSLR.
dry cleaning method - is the safest way to clean your sensor since you dont touch the sensors
surface. Only setback here is that it only takes out dust held on by static.
wet cleaning method - is more aggresive cleaning method that forces you to wipe the sensor with cleaning fluids using special pads or brushes, used mainly for dust that gets stuck to sensor with moisture.
The Best commercial Sensor Dust Clean
ing products on the market not ranked in any particular order..
http://www.giottos.com - Use the rocket air.. only problem with this is that when the rocket air blows out air and dislodges the sensor dust, the rocket air also sucks in air.. if dust is sucked in then you will have a problem in your next cleaning session.

BILL JACOBSON – INTERIM THOUGHTS, AND OTHERS at the Noorderlicht Photogallery 2007-05-19 12:09:55
BILL JACOBSON – INTERIM THOUGHTS, AND OTHERS
May 26 through June 24, 2007 at the Noorderlicht Photogallery
Interim Thoughts, and Others consists of four series by American photographer Bill Jacobson from the past fifteen years. From the early 1990s Jacobson makes his name with his out-of-focus, painterly images that address themes of loss, mortality and spirituality. After having worked in the 1980s as a commercial photographer for the New York art scene, he returns to his own image-making at the end of the decade.
His series entitled Interim Portraits (1992-1994) is a personal reflection on life in the AIDS era. Fragile figures seem to disappear into a white field, as if extricating themselves from a mortal coil. Then follows his Thought Series (1996-1998), a series of dark monochromes that continues to address the notion of the body as something both still and constantly changing. In 1999, after returning from a trip to India, Jacobson begins working in colour on the streets of h

Possible End of third-party Epson inks. 2007-05-28 20:38:27 Epson
has won first set of legal battle to ban third
-party import of ink cartridges compatible with their printers within the US. If Epson wins the battle all the way, will they ban epson, inks, refills and refilling stations all over asia?
The Japanese manufacturer had filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) in Feb 2006, againts 24 manufacturers and importers of third-part inks, claiming that the companies in question had infringed Epson’s patents.
For years, Epson has been working towards ban on third party ink supplies, mostly with countries in the US and European markets with many of the accused companies settling with Epson out-of-court. Will the asian countries follow soon?
Epson will continue taking whatever action is necessary to protect Epson’s invaluable intellectual property rights. Watch out for the ruling on the case expected to be out on July 30.
