Yes, that’s Paris Hilton. And yes, she’ reading. And yup, she’s reading the Bible. So what’s the big fuss? I don’t understand why people make a big fuss out of this. Paris can read whatever she wants to read! Shouldn’t we be all happy that she’s trying to be closer to the Lord and to his Word? I just find it so odd for naysayers to say that this is a publicity stunt of sorts. Funny, but there are haters out there who already think that the new Simple Life season will suck big time…only because Paris Hilton MAY not be able to promote it very well. CAN’T Y’ALL JUST LET THE NEW SEASON AIR FIRST BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGMENT? Fine, it MAY be a hard sell especially with the problems besetting the heiress but let’s cut them some slack — the previous seasons all did very well so we reckon there are still fans out there who would want to watch Nicole and Paris’ adventures in camp. Producers of the show pledge a fun and crazy season — we think it’s cool if we just watch the season first (at least the pilot on May 28!) before we say whatever. Speaking of promotion — we wonder what the updates are regarding Paris’ reported guest booking at the Late Show with David Letterman on June 6, a day after she’s supposed to be sent to the slammers. Seems like the end of the road for people wanting to save Paris. The socialite and her lawyers have decided not to pursue the appeal to her initial 45-day jail sentence. Paris Hilton is, believe it or not, going to serve time. I wonder what the “Free Paris” people have to say about this? (I checked their site just a minute ago, by the way, and they seem to be unfazed. The petition’s still there and the buy “Free Paris” stuff banners are all still there) Can you already imagine the heiress entering jail?! (I still can’t!) Incidentally, her sentence has just been reduced to 23 days so I guess that’s better than 45 days. But still!

PARIS HILTON’S SENTENCE REDUCED TO 23 DAYS! w00t! woot!   This piece of breaking news is definitely good news for fans of Paris Hilton! The heiress is now set to only serve half of her initial 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said Wednesday. An article from Associated Press published in the Houston Chronicle Wednesday said that Paris will only spend about 23 days in a “special needs housing unit” at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, Los Angeles County. This has been confirmed by the sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore. Her sentence was reportedly shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior. Several factors were accordingly considered in coming up with the credit, including the mere fact that she appeared during her last court date! Cool, eh? In the television show “The View” today (hosted by Barbara Walters and Rosie O’ Donnell, among others — that day’s co-host was comedian Kathy Griffin) Paris Hilton ’s mother, Kathy, urged the “young people who look up” to her daughter to “learn” from her driving under the influence (DUI) arrest and forthcoming imprisonment (can you believe it’s less than 20 days now?) Due to a declaration issued by Paris Hilton ’s psychiatrist, the heiress’ trial date has been postponed to August 22. This trial date is related to a $10 Million slander and libel case filed against the heiress by a certain Zeta Graff , reportedly a professional model, actress and film producer. The suit claimed that Paris and others spread “vicious lies” about her that were eventually published in the New York Post. According to the statement filed by Dr. Charles Sophy, Paris is “not capable of any meaningful participation” in a civil trial. And what we want to know is…has there been an appeal sent to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office yet? Anyways, our girl was spotted hitting the gym Thursday and guess what… She adopted a cat! Yup, Paris adopted a black cat at Judy’s Pet Depot. The mischievous feline escaped a few hours later, though, but Paris’ female friend was able to retrieve it. Whew! Don’t look now but there MAY be a possibility that recently arrested Lindsay Lohan will be sentenced to jail time and MAY end up at the same facility where pal Paris Hilton’s heading on the 5th! (I know, you can’t help but be befuddled) According to this write-up, Lindsay may face the possibility of jail time after she crashed her car Saturday morning following a suspected night of drinking. Cops also later said that they found “usable amounts of cocaine” in her car. So I guess this is WHY Paris Hilton and her camp have succumbed to the fact that the heiress REALLY IS bound for jail on June 5: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently not interested to pardon the socialite. According to an AP news article which was printed by Usmagazine, the governor simply said, “I have many more important things to think about.” The governor’s words end a week of work by Paris supporters, who claim that authorities are using the socialite as a scapegoat. Since I mentioned them in the previous post, I thought of visiting their site and checking out what they’ve been up to lately (and especially since Paris Hilton has been out and about, buying and reading Bibles and looking like she’s ready to face her June 5 date at the county jail) Looks like they’re not giving up yet! The FreeParis movement website is STILL up (they’re not losing hope, obviously!) and you can still submit your signature online in order to support their call to free the heiress. We wonder if the petition has been forwarded to the office of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger? We also wonder — will this movement never give up?
