2007-08-15 10:14:54
News piece from news24.com ‘One nurse for 90 patients’ 15/08/2007 14:55 - (SA) Johannesburg - Staffing woes at Port Elizabeth’s Dora Nginza Hospital had deteriorated to a nurse-patient ratio of one to 90, The Herald Online reported on Wednesday. “The situation is a crisis. Staff shortages were causing long delays in treatment and queues of people waiting for hours in hospital corridors. “The problem is compounded by the fact that they have now cut down on the training of professional nurses and are c

So I usually use this blog as a pure doula blog, so seeming as I am the doula I can include some personal tit bits here and there. *********** The good. Two beautiful baby girls were born last week, I was blessed to be present at both births. Interesting and very different experiences, one at an active birth clinic and the other at home, the first a quick labour and birth of a second baby and the latter a long labour and quick birth of a first born. Every birth is different, you never know how it will go and you just have to trust that a women’s body will do what needs to be done, because it will! Both mom’s and baby princesses are doing well. *********** The bad. I was hijacked at gun point last week friday the 7th september, I had just pulled into a driveway when the car was removed from my possession forcefully with the use of guns and ill intentions. Pffft. The car was recovered because the criminals were using it as a joy ride and the police gave chase. 7 bullet ho
