A wonderful Gentleman, who has been married to my mother for a very loooooong time. The man who taught me that a Gentleman always opens the door for a lady. My Favorite Summer Flower... 2007-06-16 02:02:00 I have this New Fondness for an Amazing Flower, A PEONY. I am absolutely Crazy about them. They are so full when they open and the shape is just Beautiful. I really love the colors and the Scent is Lovely. I bought some this week and they just put me in a Happy Spirit. My goal for the Garden is to try to grow some PEONIES. We will have to see, in So. Calif. they are not very Popular. Now dont get my wrong, my heart still belongs to my Orchids, but these Peonies are giving them a run for their money. To start my weekend off just Perfect, I had a Face to Face with a very thick Rattle Snake this morning. Yes, at 6:45 am I had the Fire Department inside my front gate capturing a Rattle Snake. They were so Nice and Not bad on the Eyes either. LOL, Anyway, they got him for me and had to take its Head off be buried. I stopped into Marshall's today to return a t-shirt and to my Surprise I found some wonderful Scrapbook items. I do not scrap anymore, but I still use everything for cards and other goodies. Anyway, I got a great deal and was so Happy I bought all they had, which wasn't much.

A Visit to Mom and Dad's House 2007-06-24 01:17:00 Beautiful Beaded trim too. So Much Lace! A wonderful book on Flea Market Decorating!A wonderful book on so many things you can do with Ribbon. It is just Beautiful.Today I went and visited my Mom and Dad. I wanted to give my Dad his Fathers Day gifts and give my mom some goodies. After 1 1/2 hrs. of Lovely Los Angeles Traffic I made it down. You see we live 50 miles apart and dont get to see each other too often. My mom has been a Crafter/Sewer for many, many years. She has So many goodies. Of course, I forgot to bring my Camera. (nothing new) My mother has a Sewing Room stock full of so many Goodies. It was like visiting a Flea Market/ Michaels/Fabric Store. It is a Crafter's Heaven. I was Amazed! I was almost kicking myself for forgetting my Camera. I wanted to show all of the things she has and How organized they are. up several weeks back and Absolutely "ADORN" it. It is so much fun and has such Great Ideas. The "Eye Candy" will keep your eyes glued. I have a real Magazine Obession as it is. Although my time has been limited due to kids,crafts and overall life, I still Love to read them all. I was doing heavy duty cleaning yesterday and found two "VICTORIA" Mags. from 2002! You would have thought I won the Lottery. I do Love my Magazines.

SASSY'S BIRTHDAY AND OUR WEEKEND 2007-07-01 17:51:00 Jesse relaxing during the Dog Days of SummerAnother Busy weekend here in Southern California. First of all My Emily Grace turned 12 today. I remember her delivery like it was yesterday. She broke her bag of waters and arrived 1 week early. She came out full of "Piss and Vinagar" and remains that same way today. My life changed forever that day for the better. She has faced many Challenges in her short life so far. Her father and I could not be more Proud of her. She overcomes her challenges and is a Shining Star that lights up a room. Her big Smile and Head of Curly Blonde hair preceed her. She has a wonderful sense of who peole are. She is the most Loyal person I know and always supports her family and friends. I Love her more than the day she was born and am so Happy to have her in my Life. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS SASSY!P.S. MINIATURE ROSES 2007-07-05 20:45:00 With as Hot as it is right now here in Southern California there seems to be only one thing Not Wilting....Roses, Specifically my Miniature Roses. I seem to have quite a few bushes of them. I don't know how that came to be but, none the less I have several. Pink,Fuchsia,white,light pink, yellow and coral. There are hundreds of blooms that Look absolutely Amazing right now, Even with the thermometer hitting over 100 degrees for the last several days. Just wanted to share what I was able to pick this morning. I do Love my Roses.
IT'S RANINING IT'S POURING... 2007-07-11 10:06:00 O.K., O.K., Don't Laugh.. We very Rarely get Rain in Southern California in the Summer, (Hell, we very rarely ever get rain any time of the year). Anyway, It has been Cloudy for two days here and all of a sudden yesterday afternoon it started Pouring. Being the Camera Bug I am I started taking Pictures. PRETTY PENDANTS 2007-07-10 11:14:00 This is what I was doing all day Monday. I made Pendants for Emily and all of her Girlfriends with their Cheer Squad name and Colors. So I went a Step further and made just a "few" more. I really Love these and cant help myself. Keeps me Indoors and Cool.

IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE... 2007-07-12 21:07:00 Well It is! I Have a Cocktail I make that friends and family make Special Request for. I made several pitchers for our July 4th party, so I wanted to everyone to take a Look See. It is the Easiest Cocktail in the world to make and is so Refreshing, Especially this time of year. It is the "Jamie-Special"... All it is is Vodka,(any kind you prefer, I generally like a Absolut but for this I use a Less expensive brand). The second ingredient is Gingerale and the Final and Most IMPORTANT is the Lime. Step One- take a nice Glass, fill it to the very top with Ice. Step Two- one shot of Vodka. Step Three- fill the rest of the cup with Gingerale. Step four- take at least 2-3 wedges of lime and squeeze them into the glass and then Rim the glass with the Lime wedge. I always leave one of the Wedges in the glass too. Finally there you have it the Greatest Summer Cocktail around. O.K. I am not a Lush, but after a Stressful Day with my Crew I need a Little " Mom Medicine". I also made a bit of Brues
Look What's Cookin in my Garden.. 2007-07-18 10:02:00 This year has been my first Parlay into attempting to grow goodies to eat! I am a Lover of all plants, flowers and trees. I have the utmost Respect for people who can grow Edibles. I seem to be doing "Not so Bad" at this. We have eaten some of my Tomatoes and they were Delish. My Basil and Mint are No Brainers and I use almost daily. The only issue I have is the Critters that want to eat my Edibles. I have a Squirrel that lives behind my house on a Hill that I have Waged War against. The Snails and who knows what else that want to eat every leaf there is are beginning to Annoy the Life out of me too. Most of all I am enjoying watching it grow and so are the Kids. OH, WHAT A GLORIOUS MORNING 2007-07-19 09:31:00 I just wanted to take a quick moment to share my "Morning Glories". I planted this vine about 3 years ago and every summer thru fall it takes on a life of its own. Now, I Absolutely Love the Purple flower,that is what drew me to the vine itself. But, Don't let that Beauty fool you. The Vine will take over your house and Swallow you up. I have to go and trim certain areas of it a few times a week. It is now growing up my Wrought Iron Gate thatI have on my front porch. I think I read somewhere it grows over a foot a day. (I believe it!) The vine itself is rather thick and you need garden sheers to properly cut it. It is taking over a Queen Palm on the side of my house, so now I need to cut it off of the branches. I want you to know that when I put it to bed for the Winter I cut it down to absolutely Nothing! Now it has "Come Alive" and is Singing with Glorious Flowers. Enjoy. FINALLY A FLEA MARKET FIX 2007-07-26 00:59:00 Ok, Ok, Love my kids to Death But,,,, I haven't been to the Tuesday morning Local Flea Market for about 6 weeks. I Swear I was starting to have Major Withdrawals. Well, I told the kids Mom is going Tuesday Morning and you are coming and if you don't or raise a Stink your "Grounded for Life". LOL, Emily loves going to see all the Goodies but I knew Elijah would be a Different story. Anyway, it was an Unusually warm and Muggy morning but I got thru it in One hour Flat. I can Spend faster than anyone I know. I must say that in Sixty-Minutes I found some of the BEST Jewels.Also, Mr. Elijah got himself some Great Old Baseball Cards and a Dodger Bobble Head. Look where I went Today... 2007-07-29 23:40:00 "TEXTILE,COSTUME AND CLOTHING SHOW" I found an ad in the Los Angeles Times last week and figured I would give it a Look see. Well, It was truly Wonderful. There were Vendors there with some of the most Amazing Goodies. Vintage Fabric,Vintage Lace, Millinery Goods,Vintage Jewelry,Vintage Clothing,Purses,Buttons,Patterns you Name it. It was like Sending me to Heaven for the day. Some of the Ribbons,buttons,millinery flowers and other goodies were so Old and Absolutely Yummy...There were Lots of I think Movie Industry People (Stylist's) Just Guessing by the way they were dressed and the Amount they were purchasing. There were some Extremely Expensive Items and some Items that were more up in my price range. I bought some Absolutely wonderful Rhinestone Buttons from the 1940's, Rhinestone Jewelry and Little shoe buckles for Dolls. It was also a Wonderful Outing for People Watching. KITCHEN CABINETS 2007-08-01 10:40:00 Last Week all week I was preparing for a Small Open-house I was doing. So what did I do, Had to add some accents to my kitchen cabinets. Now, I wonder why I feel so stressed out sometimes. Anyway, I was in Michaels one day and found this Great "Stuff", kind of like a Plaster in a tube and colored. I picked up a Stencil for $5 with my coupon and the tube of "stuff" was $5. So for $10 I Spruced up my kitchen cabinets and I really like them. My hubby liked them and I got good feedback from others too. Now, Sassy thinks they look terrible, but that is coming from a 12 year old. Anyway it was so Easy to do and took a whole 45 minutes to do. Let me know what you think?
Around my House in the Ranch 2007-08-03 09:51:00 Well, I was looking around my house one night this week while I was cooking dinner and I thought I want to do a post of my favorite little spots around my house. Originally I was going to pick a certain corner or spot and do a Pictorial of it, but than I thought there are little bits here and there I really like. So this is what I cam up with. I hope you Enjoy, It give a bit of a peak into my likes. Hubby lets me do pretty much what I want in the house, we do make big decisions together though! (so he thinks!!)
