Remove your tattoos cheaply
2007-05-20 02:07:02
It’s expensive to remove tattoos, but not anymore! The tattoo removal programme, jointly run by Tentera Diraja Mosque and Eden Medical Aesthetics, was launched last July. Those who want their tattoos removed do so with a 50 per cent subsidy, but they have to agree to go for counselling. The cost of removal varies according to the tattoo size. It can cost from a few hundred dollars to thousands. - Source

Obesity may make you stupid
2007-05-20 02:03:02
This report suggest that new parents today should stop dreaming about having babies that are “white white fat fat”, unless you want them to grow up becoming more stupid than the rest. Then again Professor Ho is saying that it’s basically people that are condemning these fat kids that’s why they are becoming stupid. Now if you think you’re fat you maybe fat, if others say you’re fat, it means you’re really fat!

FA Cup final: Chelsea vs Man United
2007-05-19 11:52:36
Chelsea have a number of injury worries going into Saturday’s final. Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack are definitely out, having taken themselves off for respective hernia and ankle operations, but how much of a negative impact that will actually have on the team is up for debate. Of more concern is the fitness of centre-back Ricardo Carvalho, who has been one of the Blues’ best players this season. The Portuguese has damaged knee ligaments and has only a ‘one percent’ chance of playing according to manager Jose Mourinho, who must decide whether to play defender Khalid Boulahrouz or midfielder Michael Essien alongside skipper John Terry at the heart of the defence. Boulahrouz has proven something of a liability this season and Essien has been drafted in as an emergency centre-back on previous occasions, but the latter option deprives Chelsea’s midfield of one of their most effective operators. Winger Arjen Robben may be able to play some part in the f

9 workplace myths
2007-05-19 09:58:50
1. You’ll be happier if you have a job you like. The correlation between your happiness and your job is overrated. The most important factors, by far, are your optimism levels and your personal relationships. If you are a pessimist, a great job can’t overcome that. (Think of the jerks at the top.) And if you have great friends and family, you can probably be happy even if you hate your job (imagine a garbage collector who’s in love). 2. Job-hopping will hurt you. Job hopping is one of the best ways to maintain passion and personal growth in your caeers. And here’s some good news for hoppers: Most people will have eight jobs between the time they are eighteen and thirty. This means most young workers are job hopping. So hiring managers have no choice but to hire job hoppers. Ride this wave and try a lot of jobs out yourself. 3. The glass ceiling still exists. The glass ceiling is over, not because people crashed through, but because people are not looking up. Life above the glas

Speed Reading
2007-05-22 17:04:40
In today’s Information Age, reading is now a prerequisite for success in life. In fact, many presidents, including Kennedy, have required their staff to take speed reading lessons. Brian Tracy, a best-selling author, points out that just 1 hour per day of reading will make you an international expert in your chosen field within 7 years. If you’re looking to increase your learning rate while decreasing your effort, speed reading is a method you should consider studying. By simply learning how to process information at a more rapid rate, you’re not only going to be able to move through books more quickly, but you will also be able to comprehend and process more of what you have read. Speed reading is an excellent skill that can be used in your workplace, your home life, as well as your personal hobbies. The Brain’s Power Speed reading actually began as part of military training to identify enemy war planes. Pilots used a pacing tool called a tachistoscope that flashed images befo

Why We Procrastinate
2007-05-22 11:17:35
Have you ever spent time thinking about a task you need to tackle but keep putting off, then spend time telling yourself you just must get started and wondering when you will start it, and then feeling guilty because you are working on other tasks instead. Yet this one keeps hanging over your head. If this sounds familiar, you may be one of the many people who procrastinate, and procrastination is probably the biggest time waster. Putting off the inevitable, sometimes until a deadline is staring you in the face, causes the highest stress level, and results in managing time by crises. There are many reasons why people procrastinate. For some it happens occasionally under specific circumstances, and for others, it is a way of life. Here we will explore a few of the reasons behind why people procrastinate. 1. Poor work habits. These people procrastinate on everything. They are so far behind that they are constantly trying to keep up with yesterday. Boy, talk about high stress!! Their resp

Lipton Tea Wacky Uses
2007-05-20 18:32:55
Deodorize your feet. Boil three or four Lipton Flo-Thru Tea Bags in one quart of water for ten minutes. Add enough cold water to make a comfortable soak. Soak your feet for twenty to thirty minutes, then dry and apply food powder. Do this twice a day until odor is under control. Then continue twice a week to keep odor under control. Tannin, which can be found in tea, is a drying agent. Dye graying white fabrics. If Clorox bleach won’t whiten a graying white garment, soak the item in hot, strong brewed Lipton Tea until it is a shade darker than you desire. Then rinse in cold water and let dry. Highlight brown hair. Rinse red or brown hair with brewed Lipton Tea for golden highlights. Relieve sunburn pain. Pat your sunburn with wet Lipton Flo-Thru Tea Bags. Accelerate the germination of grass seeds. Mix two tablespoons of cold, strong brewed Lipton Tea into each pound of seed, cover, and set in the refrigerator for five days. Before sowing, spread the seed to dry for a day or two o

Champions League Final - AC Milan vs Liverpool
2007-05-23 09:17:52
Champions League Final AC Milan vs Liverpool Nothing bigger: The biggest match of the season anywhere in the world, as Italian giants AC Milan take on England’s most successful team throughout history and 2005 winners Liverpool. This is going to be one hell of a tussle, and whatever the outcome, viewers everywhere are promised top quality football from two footballing sides - that means no boring defensive “football” like that of Chelsea, and certainly no messy, unorganised football like that of Bayern Munich this season. United demolition: It is no surprise that AC Milan come into this match as favourites to win in regular time. AC Milan have been immensely impressive in Europe this season, as they prevented an all-English final by totally destroying Manchester United at the San Siro. Manchester United’s hope of going to Italy and getting a mere draw to qualify evaporated as early as the end of the first half, when Kaka and Seedorf capped Milan’s total d

More Foreigners in Singapore, especially Indians
2007-05-28 18:04:48
Foreigners galore - Visitor impressions with the large increase of foreigners, especially Indians , in Singapore . By suria. May 27, 2007 Random notes on Singapore (This article on Singapore was published in 3quarksdaily) It is true that changes are afoot in a nation that – after the Asian Financial Crisis, and the terror caused by the spread of SARs – realised its government could never offer it complete protection. The bargain for freedom from want in return for silent cooperation was not legitimately struck. It was based on the false notion that Singapore was a nation in charge of its own destiny rather than a small sliver of land, smaller than the dot that represents it on the global map. It made me think of my last trip to Singapore, a couple of months back. Every time I visit Singapore, I am surprised by the pace of change. I, in my nostalgia, try to seek out places I knew from before, and am constantly reminded that I am oh-so-outdated. But this time, I was struck by the numbe
