released his new album three days ago, 6th Dec. and I celebrate it. I provide you with four songs of his new record. I ordered mine on the internet some days ago and I hope I get it before Christmas. The 1st single "Acompáñame a estar solo" can be downloaded here if you wish to do so.The first song below is the 2nd single from the brand new album "Adentro", and it's about poverty and lack of opportunities that drive many inmigrants from Mexico, Central America and/or the Caribbean to the US. These inmigrants go "mojados", crossing illegally the border, accepting jobs that are bad paid in the US. These jobs are perhaps those that Americans are too lazy or stuck up to take. At the same time there are many at the White House who are concerned about inmigrants and would like to say to them, "adiós mojados" and god bless America.Latin Americans, especially Mexicans and Central Americans have always been under this big shadow that is US. Mojado or ilegal immigrant by Ricardo Arjona 1970-01-01 00:59:59 The "Mojado" song has the undeniable style of this great Latin-American performer, but to the norteño style of Intocable, which makes an interesting and respectful creation of the phenomenon of immigration.A month ago, on November 14, 2005 the promotion for the new single "Mojado" began, RicardoArjona
and Intocable joined voices for this duo that is a part of the new album tha was released by the writer/singer Arjona in Antigua Guatemala last 7th Dec.The song has the undeniable style of this great Latin-American performer, but to the norteño style of Intocable, which makes an interesting and respectful creation of the phenomenon of immigration."Mojado" narrates the story of an ilegal immigrant that wants to find the "American dream". The video for this song was done in the first days of November in the city of Tijuana, Mexico, where several zones between the Mexico/USA border where chosen to show the situation that is lived by immigrants trying to cross the border. By writing this post I do NOT support the corrupt ticket distribution system. I just intend to
Mexican Singer Yuridia Digs Ricardo Arjona 2007-03-29 02:35:00 She wants to invite Guatemalan singer-songwriter RicardoArjona
into the studio to record a track with with him.Mexican
singer Yuridia, who won the 2nd place in a singing competition (reality show) called "La Academia" (kind of American Idol version) in its 4th season, has recorded her 2nd studio album "Habla El Corazón" (2006) in which she sings Spanish versions of English songs of the 80s.She is by far the most successful singer from the show "La Academia". Her voice is powerful and moving, and the translation of the songs are very well done. Great job!In an interview by a Hondurian newspaper, she said that as a Christmas gift she wishes singing together with either Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz or Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona
.In her debut album "La voz de un angel" (2005) (consisting of songs that she interpreted during the contest, "La Academia"), which sold more than 900,000 CDs worldwide, she includes a song written by Ricardo Arjona, "Detrás de mi ventana", whic
Some Hate Arjona, We Love Him 2006-03-10 05:42:00 Mojado, Pingüinos en la cama, De vez en mes, Para bien o para mal, Para que me quieras como quiero. All songs are just great. Again I read a review on Arjona
's newest CD by Maria from Miami FL. I thought I'd share it with you guys. Let us read:"You either Love Ricardo Arjona or you hate him. You think he's a fascist, communist or you think he speaks for the people. All of his CDs are full of stories and tales that take you to another world. They make you travel down his path, or make one up on your own. You walk down the beach in Cuba or take a Taxi in New York city. You love the woman over 40 he speaks of or you turn your back to his cheating girlfriend. I am one that Loves Ricardo Arjona. I think he's a brilliant composer, whose words can change people's views and thoughts. This CD is no different from his others. It is him from song one to fifteen. They are amazing stories. Adentro... has songs that range from a woman's PMS cycle to Immigrants crossing the border. From a love
Santo Pecado by Ricardo Arjona 2006-01-03 04:24:00 Four years ago, on December 2002, I came across a review on Santo
Pecado. It was written by an English-speaking person. He put it like this:"Guatemalan singer-songwriter RicardoArjona
capped off the year with his release of Santo Pecado. I'm very impressed with what I've heard off this CD so far. It strikes me as closer in tone to earlier releases like Si El Norte Fuerte El Sur. I'm not wild about some of his soft ballads, but I can't help but be impressed by songs like the new Minutos. Good stuff!"And another one had written something on this two months earlier (Oct. 2002). It read:"Whenever I hear so much as a mention of soft folksy pop icon, Harry Chapin, my thoughts immediately drift off to picturing a small, cozy, bar in the basement of a brownstone in an upscale part of an east coast city. A place that's comfortable, just a bit smoky, and with the obligatory small stage tucked into a too-tight corner, with little more space than a lone guitarist or keyboard player would nee Read more:Ricardo Arjona
