Immanentize the Eschaton
2007-05-14 08:13:46
A concept created by political philosopher Eric Voegelin, “Immanentize the Eschaton” has become for some a sort of rallying point for the cynicism of the post-modern age. Whether one believes the Powers-That-Be are conspiring to bring about the End of the World, believes fervently in a religious prophecy or other eschatology, or simply enjoys the references to The Illuminatus! Trilogy (or perhaps even William F. Buckley, who popularized the phrase); one must admit, it does have its relevance nowadays. Voegelin used the term in reference to what he saw as a Gnostic influence on modern politics. He recognized various political movements, particularly communism and Nazism, were set forth by an elite group of people who believed they possessed special, secret knowledge and even attempted to ‘create heaven on earth’ – or immanent-ize the eschaton. A grab for power based on totalitarianism and social alienation, as he saw it. From the back cover of my book, “A secretive and

Fractal Consciousness
2007-05-10 12:02:39
I love fractals. They were a revelation to me when I first learned about them, as I imagine it was for science to learn there really are patterns in nature. “Mandelbrot’s reality has shapes undreamed of by Euclid, and surprises that ridicule the idea of order…clouds, coastlines, tree branches, commodity prices, word frequencies, turbulence in fluids, stars in the sky, a reputation, fame, the passage of history itself… - all are fractal shapes.” (Morrow, Lance. ESSAY: Let Us Recuse Ourselves Awhile. (Time, 03-05-1990), p. 72.) In my book I suggest awareness of fractals might help spark the consciousness necessary to create a world outside of what are now considered to be our boundaries. Some researchers believe ancient civilizations were processing fractals long ago, evidence of which is found in ancient carvings and artwork. I always thought the Mandelbrot fractal resembled a sitting Buddha on its side. I believe fractals may be a much larger part of our subconscious

Organic Bees
2007-05-08 06:12:21
I want to pass on the latest on the bees. An excellent series of articles are making their way around the Internet with another point of view on the Colony Collapse Disorder phenomenon. Sharon Labchuk is an organic beekeeper (and longtime environmental activist) from Canada who has given us all a heads up as to what is really going on with those commercial beekeepers, such as spraying pesticides and forcing them into unnatural sized combs, comparing it to the beef industry. She notes none of the organic beekeepers are reporting losses. Please Lord, not the bees is a great overview of the debate.

Bee Colony Collapse Disorder in Hawaii
2007-04-27 12:54:31
In the past week I’ve received several links from friends about the missing bees. The media continues to report on current research into the cause of the disappearance of bees from their hives around the world. Taiwan just announced the loss of over 10 million bees. The other day The New York Times reviewed various theories. One involves radiation from cell phone towers, and rumors abound as one might expect; people are blaming everything from terrorism to a ‘bee rapture’. (BTW, did you know the military is testing the use of bees for sniffing out bombs?) Yesterday a press release from the Army announced several pathogens had been found to be potential culprits. Some have found evidence of a fungus; in Hawaii , the news is centering on a harmful mite, and bee colonies are now quarantined to prevent its spread. More information on current research can be found here. What’s interesting is that while most of these articles claim Colony Collapse Disorder is yet to be found

From “The Measure of a Man: a spiritual autobiography” by Sidney Poitier, “I simply believe that there’s a very organic, immeasurable consciousness of which we’re a part. I believe that this consciousness is a force so powerful that I’m incapable of comprehending its power through the puny instrument of my human mind. And yet I believe that this consciousness is so unimaginably calibrated in its sensitivity that not one leaf falls in the deepest of forests on the darkest of nights unnoticed.” pp.196-197 “The grand consciousness I perceive allows me great breadth and scope of choices, none of which are correct or incorrect except on the basis of my own perception. This means that the responsibility for me rests with me.” p.197 “The whole process of survival tells us that there’s a morality to [these] natural rhythms, and that this morality is woven into the fabric of nature. For humanity, part of that fabric is the higher consciousness I was speaking of earlie

Hawaiian Bees are Missing Too
2007-04-11 04:55:21
Regarding my post yesterday on our neighborhood bees, I just spoke with my neighbor and got an update.   Although the beehive in their yard is still buzzing away (behaving strangely, though, he said they are circling in unusual ways for some reason), they have 60 other hives up north on the island, and are confused as to why 20 of them are suddenly gone, just in the past couple of months.  Nothing’s left, he said, no queen, nothing; just the cockroaches.  He didn’t actually realize it was happening all over the world and I think he was a little stunned.  He promises to talk to other island beekeepers to see if it’s happening to anyone else.  Scary.

Missing the Bees
2007-04-10 05:14:00
I live in Hawaii in a relatively rural place so we are used to seeing things like wild turkeys wandering around our neighborhood.  Yesterday a wild goat scampered across the street in front of my car to join its family on the other side.  The Big Island has wild pigs, cattle, goats, horses, mongoose, parrots and even donkeys.  (Not to digress, but Hawaii even has its own Bigfoot myths – two of my family members have personal stories about that.)  In suburban neighborhoods it’s not unusual for people to keep chickens or goats; the best eggs I ever had were from a friend’s backyard.  In fact the people across the street from us keep a goat as a lawnmower and have a beehive.  They’ve given us some honey before; it’s wonderful.  I used to have a patch of mint that flowered and the bees just took over my garden.  One time a few months ago they swarmed, coming right up our driveway next to our porch.  We all ran inside, including the dogs, at a loss as to what might have

Blogging
2007-04-05 23:57:29
A little off the subject for me today, but my brain is full of RSS feeds and tagging and widgets.  Blogging is a rapidly growing and changing world!  At least for my generation – hey, I grew up with Pong, I have a lot to learn!  As a self-published author I’ve done most of my marketing online so I’m constantly searching for more places to put my stuff.  Thanks to my smart and wonderful stepdaughters, I’ve entered the world of blogging and social networking sites.  It’s been a great way to keep myself involved in the topics that interest me, and to find other like-minded people.  Here’s to all the people that work hard coming up with new gadgets, designs and ideas.  I look forward to more.   However this rapid advancement can also mean that you can do something on one site that you can’t do yet on another.  Frustration at Blogger led me to Wordpress and I’m happy to find some things are easier there; on the other hand, since I’m not into CSS yet (hey, I can fi

True geeks might know that May 25 is also Towel Day…that’s towel as is The Number 42, not Towelie…don’t forget your towel… This article about a disruptive bee swarm, and then this one about a swarm actually forcing a plane to land recently, made me wonder for a moment about what is really going on with the bees; what if it were all part of some kind of bizarre ‘bee revolt’ – or worse, an attempt to warn us about something! This month is a Blue Moon – in most places; see what I mean here. More interesting Moon thoughts. Cool, short video of Comet McNaught seen in Australia earlier this year. Cosmic Perturber?
2007-05-25 00:46:38
Does our sun have a sister star?  In his 2005 book Lost Star of Myth and Time, author and amateur archaeo-astronomer Walter Cruttenden pushed the envelope of accepted astronomy when he theorized that our own Earth is part of a binary star system.  Cruttenden’s video based on that book, The Great Year, narrated by James Earl Jones, is an excellent summation of this theory.  As Executive Director of the Binary Research Institute, Cruttenden continues to research “evidence of astronomical cycles of time known to cultures throughout the ancient world.  It is Cruttenden’s belief that the myth and stories depicting a repeating cycle of Golden Ages and Dark Ages may have a basis in fact, due to the alternating stellar forces that affect Earth as our solar system moves in a 24,000-year binary (dual star) orbit.” The Great Year references the 24,000-26,000 year cycle of time during which our solar system completes its precession through the equinoxes.  Generally considered to be mo

“Striving to increase awareness of our spiritual natures as well as the news, technologies and agendas which influence them.” Well it’s obvious there is quite enough material to keep us busy on the “news, technologies and agendas” part of that mission statement. It’s the “increasing awareness of our spiritual natures” part that can be challenging, though it really is far more important. We often cannot control our circumstances; only how we react to them. I’m not going to preach, because truthfully every person has their own Walk, and goes at different rates. Not everyone is ready to live completely in faith – though I can tell you for my own part, right now my own circumstances would have me feel like I am walking across the Abyss supported only by a warm breath of air. It might seem like I’m in danger, but for some reason I never fall in. By now I recognize the feeling, and the chasm itself, for what it is, and the Walk has gotten easier. Not easy – just

Supernatural Hawaii
2007-06-07 18:02:23
[Inspired by Aura at Encounters with the Unexplained] Hawaii is a gorgeous place to live, most would agree. The weather is unbeatable, the people are full of aloha and the beach is always close by. I suppose some might say it has its downsides too – things tend to be more expensive, and it always takes longer to get things done because most people would rather be playing than working. Whether Hawaii’s legendary creepiness is a downside or not depends on your point of view, but unless you live here you might not be aware of all the strangeness that goes on – and the blithe, casual way people live with the phenomena. It’s just part of life here, given the diversity of cultural influences regarding the spirit world and its pervasiveness in everyday existence. The first experience I had was talking to the rocks. It might sound strange but since then I’ve heard such stories from many, many people here. Pele, the volcano goddess, has created a virtual army of bizarre lava rock

It turns out that the father-in-law of the man infected with a treatment-resistant strain of TB who got on an airplane last month happens to be a tuberculosis specialist at the CDC. Coincidence? In my recent post about a Cosmic Perturber I mentioned the work of researcher Burak Eldem, who believes the cycle for Nibiru is 3661 years (and that it’s coming around again in 2012). That number also surfaced as the approximate age of a ghost forest in Oregon. Weird, right? Do you know about Cruithne, an asteroid in a bizarre horseshoe-shaped orbit around our sun, also sometimes referred to as “Earth’s second moon”? Antarctica: The Secret Land
2007-06-10 17:10:56
Antarctica is truly the last frontier.  Its distance and inaccessibility easily lend itself to speculation and rumor.  Beginning with enigmatic ancient maps, which some believe show the southern continent as it looks without ice and snow, its existence has remained shrouded in mystery as well as ice.  Many theorize Atlantis is to be found there; Internet rumors claim there are satellite images which reveal an anomaly beneath the ice, replete with the concentric circles Plato wrote about, though I couldn’t find them.  Not surprising; such a find would rock the scientific world in terms of the age of civilization.  Some alternative researchers however do suggest that Antarctica used to lie in tropical regions before the last pole shift, and was the site of a flourishing ancient society. Searches for “Antarctica anomaly” yielded a work of fiction some claim could be a disinformation campaign for what scientists have really discovered down there.  Another involves Lake Vostok,

Kilauea Volcano Update
2007-06-22 23:14:58
A few days ago the area surrounding our volcano here on the Big Island, Kilauea, experienced a sudden and unusual flurry of small earthquakes. Yesterday our local newspaper, West Hawaii Today, reported on the front page that the lava had actually stopped flowing out of the Pu’u O’o vent. This is noteworthy because it has been erupting constantly since 1983; Kilauea is considered to be one of the most active volcanoes on earth. New fissures have appeared in the past day or two, and some rare plants and animals are in danger in some areas. However this startling change is good news for our leeward side of the island (except of course for some disappointed tourists): without the ensuing vog, our skies will be clearer and cleaner than they have been for 25 years, at least for a little while. Several other volcanoes have been active the past week or so as well. In New Guinea, explosions from Rabaul rocked the surrounding areas as ash plumes rose 8900 feet. In Ecuador, both Tungu

Deep Integration: the coming North American Union
2007-06-25 21:25:40
From The Plan to Disappear Canada by Murray Dobbin, “If the machinations going on in this country regarding so-called “deep integration” were instead a communist conspiracy to take over the country (you will, of course, have to try hard to imagine this) the news media would be blaring the story. Pundits would pontificate, editorialists would erupt, security forces would be unleashed. Instead, a virtual conspiracy to make the country disappear through assimilation into the U.S. gets barely a mention. But news of the scheme — formally called the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) — is finally breaking out of the secret chambers of the ruling elite and the federal government. This is both good news and bad. It’s good that ordinary citizens are finally getting a glimpse of the betrayal of their country. The news is bad because it reflects just how much of this scheme is already being implemented. “ Mr. Dobbin goes on to summa

If you spend time investigating any of the strange and even disturbing elements of our present global reality, it’s easy to become disheartened or even anxious or desperate.  It’s not uncommon to feel this way and if you have, you’re not alone.  I spend a lot of time sifting through quite a bit of difficult material every day, and I still have moments when the potential future hits me so hard I lose my breath.  As I gather information for a post, sometimes I have to close my laptop and go do something else for awhile.  It can be overwhelming, no matter how many years one has been awake.  Who hasn’t thought about going back and taking the blue pill?  The red one can be bitter and acrid indeed. I was listening to one of the alternative radio talk show hosts the other day, and he and his guest were discussing how some young people, though fully aware of the coming ‘new order’ and all its controversial agendas and organizations, agree to join the powers-that-be rather tha

Crying Wolf: Non-Predictions for the Future
2007-07-03 15:55:45
Prophecy is a difficult subject for me, not because I think it’s not possible, but simply because there are so many false voices out there that a lot of disinformation and propaganda gets let in through the open doors. I mean, how many times have people set a date for the end of the world in the past? Don’t get me started on that one. On the other hand, I do believe many people will be able to determine without much difficulty some of the likely events that are to come. It doesn’t take a psychic to see there will probably be another really big, terrible “terrorist” attack sometime in the near future. All you have to do is read the news. It’s also pretty clear we are being groomed for world government. Right now, fear is being used to great advantage towards that goal. However, and unfortunately, so is love and what people see as “doing the right thing”. For example, some believe environmental issues are one way to manipulate us into accepting world governm

Eso-researchers may be aware of the so-called “Master Numbers” - 11, 22, 33, etc. Certain numbers, sets of numbers and dates have special meaning to occultists, astrologers and numerologists. 9/11 was full of such synchronicities. Many also attribute symbolic significance to the terrorist attack in London on July 7, 2005 - which incidentally killed 52 people and injured 700. Remember, numerology adds digits together to find a single digit outcome, except in the case of the Master Numbers. Thus July 25 would also be a 7-7-7 this year, and that is the date of the day out of time for those who know about the 13 moon calendar. July 7 is the 188th day of the year, with 177 days remaining.   On July 7 in history, the Battle of Hubbardton began in Vermont in 1777. United States begins its first military draft in 1863. President William McKinley annexed Hawaii as a territory in 1898. Construction commenced on the Hoover Dam on this date in 1930. In Roswell, New

Tragedy of the Commons: Ponerology and strategies of depopulation in the emerging order
2007-07-12 00:15:38
“If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to Earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.” -Prince Phillip   Originated by William Forster Lloyd in his 1833 book about population, the term “tragedy of the commons” was popularized by Garret Hardin’s essay in a 1968 issue of Science. However the concept is likely as old as the advent of the “ruling elite” itself.   Political Ponerology: A science on the nature of evil adjusted for political purposes, a book written by Andrew M. Lobaczewski in communist Poland and suppressed by the likes of Zbigniew Brzezinski and the Vatican, discusses the origin and actions of a ‘pathocracy‘, or rule by a pathological elite. Why is this material important? Lobaczewski explains that the general population, naively believing that their leaders are basically working for the good of all, tends to avoid knowledge of the horrific, cruel and bloody legacy of the elite, and are therefo
