Cabopino Playa, Spain - Tolerated Nude Beach 2007-05-14 15:58:00 Cabopino Playa is located east of Costa Natura, about half way between Marbella and Fuengirola. This nude beach is backed by extensive dunes which have a reputation for being 'cruised' by gay men and swinging couples, although this problem is minor and doesn't extend to the main beach itself. There is a section of beach about half a mile long which is nudist, although it's normal to wear clothes when visiting the bar. To get to the beach, follow signs for Puerto Cabopino and just before you reach the port turn right into a large car park. is set in a small cove and is only 150 metres long, so you must arrive early to get a good spot during the crowded summer months. However, its sheltered position also makes it an ideal nude beach for visiting out of season too. This beach is well maintained by the owner of the bar that serves it, also providing showers and toilets. To find this nude beach, drive 2km west out of Benalmadena Costa on the N340A coast road and look for signs to the beach. There are steps leading down from the access road.Benalnatura is a small beach and well populated even during the week and can get a little crowded at weekends, so get there early. The facilities are not free, but for a small donation to the 'Pot Pig' on the bar you can use the toilets and showers. Drive west along the seafront for 2km and park near where the road turns inland. The nude beach is signposted from here and you will reach it by a five minute walk around the headland. Eagle Peak Apartments offer clothing-optional accommodation high above the coastline of Playa del Meurto.The nearest and most obvious beach to Eagle Peak Apartments is the one below that you see from your terrace. From our front door go downhill and turn right at the junction about 50 meters downhill. Follow the road downhill until you reach the seafront, turn right and go about 200 meters until you come to a wide parking area with a sign for the naturist beach. Park up and walk past the garages on the beach around the headland on the pathway. The beach is in two sections the first is the most sandy. There are no facilities on the beach.

Expect to find an easy mix of clothed and nude bathers. The beach is adjacent to the road between Cabo de Gata and Almadrava de Montelva, although this road is sometimes blocked off just east of the Cabo de Gata peninsula to restrict the number of visitors to the park area. You may even be lucky enough to see some pink flamingos on the nearby salt flats.

Playa de Monsul - Officially Recognised Nude Beach 2007-05-14 15:29:00 Playa de Monsul nude beach is located 3.5km south of San Jose in the Cabo de Gata National Park. There is a large sand dune at the north end and a nudist area at the southern end. This is a beautiful beach of soft golden sand, although there are no beach facilities as such.It has great views and the water was cristal clear. In August, which apparently is busy season, but they did not look too busy in comparison with any resort beach. A short walk from the car parks would have taken you to an empty section. There are many more beaches in the park, get a good map and surely you will find many more things to discover. Many of the beaches are Naturist, so if you can't afford a swimsuit or just prefer no tanlines, this could be the place for you.

Cumbre del Sol, Spain - Tolerated Nude Beach 2007-05-14 15:04:00 Cumbre del Sol nude beach is situated 5km southeast of Benitachell, at the northern end of Costa Blanca. This 500 metre long beach is composed of pebbles and surrounded by high cliffs, giving it a very sheltered situation. The views from this beach are glorious, on a clear day you can see the Balearic Islands. Most of the nude sunbathing happens at one end of the beach (not the end where the bar is located).It takes about 20 minutes by car from Javea. The beach is half textile and half nudist, but there does not appear to be any conflict. There are two beach bar/cafes here, we used the one directly on the beach (too lazy to walk to the other) this bar was a little expensive but nevertheless very good. A large beer was 3 Euros and you could get quite an assortment of simple snack type meals. This bar is in at the textile end of the beach and therefore you need to cover up to use it. Adjacent to the nude beach is El Templo Del Sol naturist camping and caravan site, complete with swimming pool and other modern facilities. To get there, leave the A7 dual carriageway at Exit 38 which is signposted L'Hospitalet de L'Infant. This beach village on the northeast corner of the Etang de Leucate is in the commune of Leucate. - 30 km northeast of Perpignan, on the coast of the Mediterranean.Le Layet, set apart, hidden in a cove, is a small, sheltered beach for nudists with soft sand and millpond waters. 's Mediterranean coast, about 25km southeast of Beziers. There is a naturist resort here too, the Serignan Plage Nature, consisting of tents, chalets and mobile homes, along with a bar, restaurant, shop and plenty of onsite entertainment.This really is a great place if your idea of a holiday is simply to laze around and soak up the sun. There is no pool on site (at Serignan Plage Nature), but there's hardly a need for one since Serignan's main asset is its direct access to the Mediterranean right on its doorstep. The residents are predominantly (like us) families with youngsters there to take advantage of the wide, sandy and immaculately clean beach. We happened to go at the tail end of a French heat wave, and the sea was warm enough to swim in at both ends of the day - at eight in the morning and eight in the evening. sur Mer offers a very spacious nude beach stretching for several kilometers which is backed by dunes and marshland - great for amateur ornithologists! It is located approximately 25km due east of Narbonne. Take the D118 north along the coast from Narbonne Plage until you reach St Pierre sur Mer after about 5km (see maps below) then take the track past the wind-surfing school to the beach. There is also a Naturist Campsite nearby called La Grande Cosse.This part of the Mediterranean coast is very flat with, in some cases, sand spits enclosing Etangs or lagoons, and salt marsh areas some of which dry out in the summer and flood in the winter. La Grande Cosse is set back a bit from the sea across dry scrub land (Garrigue?). The path across it has a couple of bridges to cross creeks that were still wet when we were there and forms a pleasant naturist walk (or cycle ride) to the nude beach.
