Speeding Kancil
2006-10-31 04:52:37
One day, an uncle was driving on the highway in his CLK (cute little kancil) when the engine started to choke. He quickly stop the car by the side just in time before the engine died off. So, the uncle open the hood and see la. Just a few minutes after, a young man was cruising in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 on the same highway. He quickly spotted the broken down kancil with the uncle standing beside it alone. Being a kind man, he pulled over right in front of the kancil to offer help. Having very little engineering skills, the young man couldn't fix the problem. The man then came up with a brilliant idea. He told the uncle that he has a cable in his boot and offered to tow the kancil to the next toll house where he could get help. The uncle agreed to that idea. The uncle also added that if he feels that they are moving too fast, he would flash the young man and also use the horn. So, the young man secured the kancil to the back of his Evo using the cable. And so, the young man drove

Stage Fright....
2006-10-08 19:48:45
Years ago, when I had to perform in my kindergarten's end of year concert, I had a massive stage fright despite being all excited up to the very moment I had to step out and face the audience. You know, the heart tumbling, mouth dry, stammering, butterflies in the stomach, etc .....This is otherwise known as the "fight or flight" syndromes....Over the years....the many competitions in Micromouse, Inter-Class Debates, Swimming competitions, Taekwando tournaments and even the days in Nikon as a Seminar presentor and trainer....the initial leap to face the audience is easily overcome. It took lots of toughening up.If you ask me today, to preach on my ideas or a topic to a group of people up to 300-500 people, it should not even be a problem for me. If you ask me to do a 1-1 demonstration and discussion with a stranger, I might be able to do it without even my heart beating faster. However, today, I faced what every other guy would face one day. Meet the Parents. Yes, I met Hilda's Parents

New Ruffles JC Course: "Communicating Effectively Down To Non-Elites"
2006-11-06 02:40:21
Posted on Sunday, October 29, 2006Topic: Local News by Phoenix Klaw and Kok Kok KwayFollowing the recent incident where a Ruffles JC student, in her blog entry, called non-elites "stupid crackpots", "the sadder class" and "wretched, undermotivated, overassuming leeches" and told them to "get out of my elite uncaring face", Ruffles JC is launching a new course for its elite students: "Communicating Effectively to Non-Elites." Ruffles JC was responding to a request by MP for Ang Mor Nang GRC, Mr Wee Ee Lit (also is incidentally the blogger's father) who blamed Ruffles JC for not teaching her the right skills for communicating with non-elites. Mr Wee, who holds a PhD in Children Management, said: "I stand by what my daughter has said. Her basic point is correct. But it's not her fault - I am disappointed that Ruffles JC did not teach her the correct communication skills to convey her message in a more tactful manner. If schools don't teach such things, what do they expe

Escalators Accidents and Crocs Footwear.
2006-11-09 04:05:01
You know what, some people are just simply jumping to conclusions simply because the recent few accidents reported have Crocs Footwear involved.Let's get a few facts clear, 1. Escalators Accidents have been happening for ages, not just suddenly popping out of the blue.2. Just because more people are wearing Crocs now,and when accidents happens, Crocs happen to be in the picture. If the theory holds true, then just because People due on the road due to Cars Accidents, CARS are the culprit of the accidents. (what nonsense!!!)3. Crocs were designed, NOTE, to be a boating/outdoor shoes with slip-resistant and non-marking sole. The light weight materials as well as holes were made so that it is quick drying too. CROCS were not originally meant for HEAVY DUTY Stuff such as fitting and jamming Escalators. Now try this, Just because the trend is picking, Parents are buying Crocs for their children. This means heavy usage of the footwear in areas where it is not designed for. Visit www.crocs.co

Verdict: 3.5/5Only "exciting" Ride was the Space Mountain, even so, it was mild, compared to those at Ocean Park. However, it is a childhood fantasy to visit Disneyland , land of animation and cartoons. It was a day in immerse into the fantasy land of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Stitch, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.Spoiler of the day was the arrogant China Man who jumped queue and yet have the cheek to tell the employee of Disneyland off.Lots of Filipinos and Indonesian Chinese around. Another Irksome Scene saw was on the train ride back from Disney. A middle eastern family (very obvious from the dressing of the ladies) were sitting on a row of seats on the train, which is okay. Beside the "wife" were 2 young ladies, seemingly local. At one of the stops the 2 young ladies got off and 2 young man saw the empty seats and sat down, right next to the "wife". The "wife" immediately made a face and got her husband to change the seats with her. My Take is: if it is so "haram" to even

2006...It's the time of the year again....
1970-01-01 00:59:59
HUH? What the heck am I talking about here....but yes, it's the time of the year. December usually marks a very busy period where people rush to cope with work, especially those in the supply industry. Parents juggle with having to take time off to bring the children for holidays, leaving the single colleagues to fend and cope with the load. The mad rush for the commercialised Christmas Shopping. The packing of schedules to meet friends that you have never met for the rest of the years. You want to lay back and rest, yet even as you lay back, you start to think of the year gone past, and the year ahead.  Welcome to December. Usually by this period, most manufacturers of toys and gadgets would have shipped out their products for sales, hoping to catch the Festive shopper. However, this year begs to differ. Microsoft delayed their product release to Jan 30th. This also means the products that
