Uncomforable Situations 2007-07-12 16:28:26 When I was a kid I learned (this may or may not have been the intention of my parents, but it’s what happened) that you should suffer through any type of situation even if it’s hard. It builds strength and character.
When I went to therapy back in the early 2000s, and to Codependency Anonymous meetings, I learned that this wasn’t true.
Today I left a situation that made me uncomfortable. The flyball team I was on. And I feel really, really good about it. I set a boundary. I took care of myself. Chase, my dog, will be unhappy, but we may find another team. We’ll see. Even if we don’t, we won’t go back to that team. I am not saying they are horrible, I’m saying there just wasn’t a good fit. I will miss a number of the team members, but I will most likely keep in touch with them.
I have learned that if I’m not being treated right, or if people are acting in ways that I do not like, that make me uncomfortable, or just disturb me, I
Washing Clothes in the Summer 2007-07-11 21:09:14 Washing clothes in the summer is so great. Lately it’s been about 100 degrees during the day. Hot hot. And my office isn’t very cool, either. so I’ve been wearing skirts and skorts and sandals and tanks.
I just put my clothes away and I was amazed at how little there were. And hardly any socks! I love it. Sandals rule. Washing clothes is not one of my favorite things. Actually, washing isn’t a big deal, putting them away is a pain in the rear though.
So I have a fraction of the clothes I have in the winter.
Oh I love the hot weather… I wish I had it all year long.

Online and Files 2007-07-11 16:43:53 Well I love computers. And I love to have an easy way to share files over the internet. I don’t have a way to do easy file sharing, and I would love to.
One thing that doesn’t cause me anxiety is playing around on computers. When it’s related to work, then they do. Well, I guess the computers don’t, really, but my job on the computers does.
These guys, Driveway, allows you to send files over email that would normally larger than the email server to is set to allow. Basically what they do is they let you put your file on their server, they let you park it there, and then you can email the link to the recipient and they can get it. Pretty cool, huh? And they allow files up to 500MB. So if you need to get a big file to someone, this is the way to go!
Fuzzy 2007-07-11 12:43:11 Day 22 - 157.2 lbs
The thing I don’t like about Zoloft is that it makes me feel fuzzy. Unfocused. It’s hard for me to get up in the mornings, and it’s hard for me to get started. Once there, though, I’m fine. Once I get to work I’m okay. Once I start working with the dogs I’m okay and having fun.
But if I sit down again for a while, the fuzziness comes back. Ugh. I wish it would stay away.
And to combat this fuzziness, I really need to build structure in my life. I hate structure. I am a rebel at heart. I. Am. A. Rebel! I hate following anyone else’s structure. Heck, I even hate my own. I feel a lot of anxiety when I am forced into a structure, mine or not. It’s not that I don’t like following rules, because rules aren’t so bad. But Structure, to me, is a four letter word. I won’t even define it as discipline, I don’t even want to go there. Yuck with discipline!
At the same time, I need structure to get the Read more:Fuzzy
The New is Controversial 2007-07-11 11:28:33 The world is changing. And many people don’t like these changes. Few people are involved closely in the changes, and some people, like me, are not really involved, but support the changes nonetheless.
We could try using a plasma cutter to get through all the controversy, but that might not quite be what we are looking for.
I’m talking about changes in families. In relationships. No longer is the standard man/woman marriage going to be the norm. Maybe it will be the most common, but who knows, maybe it will not be. Maybe polygamy, polyandry or same-sex relationships will become the norm. Personally, I am excited about the changes. It is freedom at one of it’s highest levels. Freedom to chose who we want, and how we want to live.
I am in a monogamous man/woman marriage. But like I say on my About Me page, I am bisexual. My codependency and anxiety has drawn me toward men, but I have been with a woman and it was a very nice relationship and I would love to do it Read more:Controversial
OOTP 2007-07-16 21:24:36 Order of the Phoenix! We say it. It was excellent. Much better than four, Goblet of Fire. Though I’m still not sure if GOF went by so fast for me because I went to the midnight premier, and was half asleep watching it and that image just stuck in my head, even though I’ve seen it again a number of times after. They just Boom Boom Boomed it out, and it moved too fast.
Ootp was better, slower, easier. And I loved the bond Harry had with his friends, Hermione and Ron, and with the whole of Dumbledore’s Army. That is the best thing about the books, I think. The friendship, loyalty and devotion they have to each other. I wish I had more of that in my past life, but now I feel like I do have it. And my friends would follow me to the ends of the earth if necessary. As I would them.
At least I like to thinks so.
New Products 2007-07-16 15:33:34 Check out some new products for the summer… including Driveway Alarms (I would love to have an alarm, and motion sensor lights outside, but we don’t have either), and they also have Chia Pets! I love Chia Pets. I have one, and I need to bring it to work and grow it again. I think it’s cool you can use them over and over again, if you just get more seeds.
They also have clappers, another thing I’d love to have, especially for the bedroom! I might have to get one of those, I’d love to turn the lights off and on with a clap.

Levi Tattoo 2007-07-16 15:24:34 Okay here it is. I realized the camera was right next to me on the couch so I should just take a pic and load it up.
I absolutely love it! I wanted Levi’s name on it underneath, and he incorporated it into the tattoo itself. I think it’s great. So now I have a tattoo of Levi on my leg. It’s on my left thigh, high enough I can hide it under a skirt for work, low enough it’ll just peek out under shorts so I can show it off.
At the Blackfoot Idaho show, there was a girl with a tattoo of her dog on her thigh, and I thought it was great and I needed one there. So I got this smooth collie image and now I have one too!
I love tattoos. When I retire I’m going to get some more in more obvious places. With color. The tattoo artists said my skin is a tattoo artists dream. LOL. I’m white, not tanned. He told me how many women ruin there skin with too much sun and fake tanning. I’m glad my skin is still good.
I have to leave the plastic on for 8 hours,
Summer Discounts 2007-07-16 15:12:00 Gotta love summer for shopping! I love to find sales, too, and the Online Discount Mart is giving out 10% discounts on purchases now through the end of summer. And there is no minimum order! It’s the perfect time to start Christmas shopping too, ya know. I already have a number of Christmas presents and I’m looking for more.
So check them out, I am going to head right over!

Got the Tattoo! 2007-07-16 15:10:15 And I love it! It’s sooo nice. I haven’t taken a picture of it yet, but I will in a while. I’m dead tired from agility still, and I need to sit for a while. The tattoo didn’t hurt too much to get, but not it kinds stings and it’s bleeding a bit, which is normal.
I love tattoos. I will have to think more to get. After I retire I’ll get some in more obvious places.
Harry Potter Movie V 2007-07-16 12:40:56 Woo Hoo I’m finally going to see HarryPotter
V today. Order of the Phoenix. Gads, people have been talking about it all weekend and I haven’t seen it yet! Ugh! I feel left out. I was at agility all weekend so didn’t get a chance. Today is my day off work so I’m going to go see it. I don’t think I’ll be dressing up, though. LOL. I will dress up for the book release this coming Friday midnight. I’m so excited! It’s that darn book I want, more than the movie.
Fortunately the movie and the book aren’t too expensive. But if they were, a student loan consolidation might really help out those in financial stress!
I’m Convinced 2007-07-15 15:46:37 I was doing agility all weekend so was busy and didn’t have time to get onto the computer much. But it’s over now and I had a great time. Levi got two qualifying runs woo hoo. You can read more about it on my other blog, Tip Tail, to find out more about my collie agility. Though it’d be nice to have theater seating in a home theater to view the video!
Anyway, I’m totally convinced that this Zoloft is working. I was sitting with people at the trial and chatting and I was relaxed. It didn’t even occur to me to be anxious, or wonder what they were thinking of me. It was great! I would think about it occasionally like an after thought, but I was not obsessed by it.
I just got Daniel Amen’s audio CD in the mail about Anxiety and Depression. He thinks that they are both because of brains that do not function in a healthy way. And he has ways of measuring this. I’m fascinated already and I’m only on the first disc. I am convinced, now, that
Tomorrow Is Harry Potter 7! 2007-07-19 10:42:00 Oh my gosh! By this time tomorrow I should have my wristband to get my book at midnight. I AM SO EXCITED! I can’t believe finally I’ll know if Snape is good or bad, who lives and who dies, and if Sirius comes back.
I have not read any spoiler pages and I don’t think I will… even though I’m kinda temped. I’ll be reading most of the weekend (when I’m not doing dog things). I’m going to wear my robes to the book release, both in the morning to get the wrist bands, and at night to get the book.

My Boy Kip 2007-07-18 20:36:34 I did a tribute page to Kip today on my other blog. I’m so glad I did, he makes me happy, seeing his sweet face. He died over seven years ago. And I still miss him, and I always will.
I hope you’ll go over to Kip’s page if you get a minute, send him some love, and hopefully he’ll feel it wherever he may be now.
He was the only solid thing through a very troubled decade of my life. I’ll always appreciate the unwavering love, loyalty, and devotion he showed me over the years. I still can’t believe he’s gone, even though he’s been gone seven years.
A quote from a book rings so true.. “Death lasts so much longer than life.” Soon he will have been dead many more years than he was alive.. well, after he was alive. As he was not alive for zillions of years before he was born. Either way, that concept is so odd for me, and disturbs me somehow. I don’t know why, but it does.
Got a Loan? 2007-07-18 18:59:17 My husband has a car loan. I do not, fortunately. We came into some money that allowed me to pay mine off early. Sweet deal, we both hate debt and we have none except his car and our house. And the house should be paid off in about 4 years, or maybe less.
Anyway, we refinanced our house a couple years ago, and check this out. If you want to get a car refinance with a company that doesn’t charge for the service, these guys are the way to go. They find the best refinance that is out there for you, and set you up. I need to hook my husband up with them!
I Miss Camping 2007-07-18 17:48:07 Sigh… I miss camping. I’ve been doing so many dog things this summer that we haven’t been camping once. This is our popup trailer, isn’t it cute? It’s small, only 8 feet, but the Outback pulls it nicely and it really is cozy in there, especially with the heater.
I hope we can to up to the Uintah Mountains in August with the trailer. And get a break from the heat, too, even though I do love the heat. If you click on the thumbnail you can see a bigger picture. This was from last year, August 2006. I need more pictures from this year!

Things that Amaze Me 2007-07-18 16:41:10 Yes, I’m a rich, spoiled American. I admit it. I’m lucky as hell, and I appreciate it every day. I live in gratitude.
When I listen to the radio, and read the news, I am lucky enough to be amazed that these things still happen in our world. These are not good things…
In China, people check with ultrasounds to find the gender of their baby. And if it’s a girl, they might have an abortion. They want sons.
Some places in the world a woman can’t walk outside without her head being covered. They can’t vote, they can’t work, they can’t go to school.
There are places where Mothers and Fathers sell their daughters into prostitution to help support the family. And it’s a religious tradition.
People die every day of starvation and diarrhea.
People think that dogs (and all animals) are unfeeling, unthinking creatures.
Health care is for the rich, instead of being a right of every human being.
People pollute and stick their heads in the sand, Read more:Amaze
Better Tat Picture 2007-07-18 13:49:13 Day Four Okay here is a better picture. Is that sweet or what? Yesterday it was really leaking black ink. Even today in the shower it was, too. Like Jen said, though, I bet they force the black in there a lot to get that deep black color. I love color in my tattoos, but I do like the sleek outline of this one, too.
I think the artists did a great job and I’m really happy with it. And believe me, I don’t get tattoos on a whim. I’ve been thinking about a dog tattoo for a couple of years. And finally decided this is what I wanted to do.
Maybe next week, or the week after, I’ll get my navel pierced again, I want to have that done, too. I do need to lose weight, too. I have gotten back on my plan again, so that’s good. Though the weekend with agility was hard. Yesterday and today I’ve been good. I wonder how the tattoo will change as my thighs get smaller. I guess we’ll see!

On a Jet Plane 2007-07-18 13:39:12 Sometimes, I want to just get where I’m going and not have to hassle with booking a flight… staying in line in security, and going through the whole rigamarole of the airport. And if I could, I would instead Charter Flights from Elite Jets, because then I could go straight through. And have the luxury I really want. And I bet I could keep the dogs with me in the cabin, too (I wonder if they have dog planes?), and go to agility trials all over the place.
These guys will find the best price for you when you become a client. Business trips will become easier, and personal amenities will be comfortable. And wow, look at the gorgeous planes on their website. I love small airplanes. My favorite flight ever was when I went in a glider. So quiet, so tranquil. I love small jets.
And with Elite Jets, you can save up to 30% over other jet charter services. Elite Jets finds the best price for you, and your unique needs and travel plans. So next time you look for a Jet Charter servi Read more:Plane
Tat Care 2007-07-18 08:23:42 Okay, got up this morning, and sat around while working in my PJs.. ooo I love that. So anyway, I put on my Tattoo Goo, too, to keep it moist. I slept in pants (pajama pants) so that it wouldn’t brush the dogs at night, or the sheets too much, even though the sheets are clean.
It doesn’t hurt today, thank the gods. And I’m really, really liking it.. Oh I’ll go and get a better pic…
Whew 2007-07-17 21:45:31 Well the pain has decreased significantly, thank the gods. I put more Tattoo Goo on and it seems fine now. I’m keeping it clean on a towel on the couch, and keeping it away from the dogs.
Sitting here keeping it relaxed, I have set up a couple of web directories. They are fun! I have an animal one: Tip Tail Directory, and a generic one: Tails Directory.
So if you like directories I hope you will sign up. There are free and paid options. And you can even list sites that sell Golf Equipment, because all sites are welcome!
Got my Wristband! 2007-07-20 12:04:14 Woo hoo! I went to get my Wristband for Harry Potter book 7 this morning. It got hot as the sun rose, was 90 degrees when I left at just after 9:15ish. Ugh. I got there at 6:30AM and met a friend who had already been there since 6AM. We were plenty early. We got into the first group of 30 people.
By the time they opened at 9AM, there were probably 100 or 150 people in line. Last year I hear they gave out over 900 wristbands for book 6.
Of course they lost my preorder, but fortunately my friend had preordered two, and only wanted one. Ugh. I swear my stuff always gets lost. Oh well. I got one so no worries.
So tonight we will meet at 10:45, they will do a countdown, then we get our book 7 at 12:01AM. WOOOOO! I am so excited. 24 hours from know I will be well into the book. No dishes, no house cleaning, no Nothin’! I’m gonna read!
Us in the Simpsons 2007-07-19 22:13:00 I found this on another blog… The Passionate Ailurophile and just had to make my own.
I think the man looks just exactly like my husband! LOL. And I look like me pretty much, and my clothes don’t match, which is typical.
If you want to go and make your own Simpson’s Characters check out the official Simpson’s movie website. The avatar maker is really quite versatile.
I do think these avatars look a bit too young. We are both older, over 40, so we’d need some more wrinkles and things in our pictures. But I still think they look cute!

My Neck 2007-07-19 20:41:41 I really have to go to the chiropractor and I’ve been putting off calling. Just about five minutes ago I lifted my neck and had a big huge CRACK! Ouch.. I hate that! My neck has been bothering me for weeks now.
I finally called the maid service, I will eventually get to the Chiropractor. I still hate making phone calls. It’s a remaining bit of my anxiety. I hate the phone and avoid it whenever possible. How come all businesses don’t just communicate via email? It is so much better than the icky, scary phone.
Just over 24 hours to Harry Potter book 7!
Veggies are Good for you 2007-07-19 19:21:40 I’m a vegetarian, and so I eat a lot of vegetables. But to tell you the truth, I’m tired of vegetables. I like pasta and bread and popcorn, too, but I try to stay away from them.
There’s a new product out and I can get My Daily Veggies
Free Sample to test it out. This looks like an interesting way to incorporate veggies into my diet without having to eat so many of the darn things. Veggies are packed with vitamins and minerals and are very healthy. Not only that, they are usually low calorie so you can eat a lot of them and fill up, without getting all those unwanted calories.
Vegetarians are not necessarily healthy. Most desserts are vegetarian. I try to stay healthy, even while I’m camping, and this product can even be taken with camping to make eating veggies easy (I eat too much junk camping). I am actually quite healthy, but sometimes I do slip. I can incorporate My Daily Veggies into recipes I already make, to make healthier meals. And it’s m
Maid Service! 2007-07-19 16:52:49 Woo Hoo I found me a maid service. Same as I had last time, they had all my records on file. And not nearly as expensive as the other ones I checked out.
They are coming August 1st Wednesday, for the first cleaning. I am soooo excited. Finally the house will be cleaner.. again. I won’t say clean, because I still relate that to my Mom’s immaculate house, which ours will never be. But it’ll be better!
