Cleaned Up Sidebar 2007-06-06 20:37:17 Okay.. finally I cleaned up the sidebar. I took out the mybloglog list, and the bumpzee list, and all the other community things. Is that a good idea or a bad? Do you like those? Would you prefer to have them gone, and have the blog load faster and just be related to content? I dunno. I took them off my other blog, too, because they were slowing things down.
So as I sit here on the couch and let Sammy give me kisses… I made images that look like the layout of the site, too. Orange to match. I like it better now, and look forward to input. Read more:Sidebar
Helping Collie Rescue 2007-06-06 18:07:26 Well, I’m excited. And since other people are posting their blogging earnings on their blogs, I thought I would do the same thing.
As you know, I’m blogging for collie rescue. Utah CollieRescue
, Inc., to be more exact. All my earnings go to PayPal, and from there transfered into the Utah Collie Rescue checking account. The collies need all the help they can get!
So today I figured out how much I made for collie rescue in May 2007. I am happy to say my total earnings were $194.65.
And here is a breakdown:
Bloggingads: $3.00
Blog to Profit: 47.94 (paypal takes a fee, not sure why)
Bloggerwave: $18.92 (paypal takes a fee from here too)
Creamaid: $1.00
Ebay Sales from Donated Items: $13.28
PayPerPost: $105.51
Blogitive: $5.00
To total the above $194.65.
And this also started on May 11th, not the first. Because this domain name was too young to start earning. And we just got our PR of 3, so hopefully that’ll help June too!
Yay! I’m happy to give this to the coll Read more:Helping
June 10, 2007, Exc B JWW Levi 2007-06-12 08:01:53 MAN YouTube is being slow. I uploaded three videos last night, and only two of them are ready for viewing.
This is Levi’s JWW run. He got the weave entry great, but at the end he came out. You’ll notice that I just kept walking straight at the end. I even slowed down to pace him, and he still came out at the end. So I really am thinking it’s nothing I’m doing. It’s him… this time! He needs to stay in! He really might be trialed out.
So this is why I think I might be over analyzing. You’ll see in the next video, if YouTube ever makes it available, that I actually make him go through the last poll. I don’t know if I should do it or not, I don’t want to stress him, but I want him to know he really needs to go through!
Well, four days in blackfoot this weekend, lots of runs to experiment with. LOL.
And sometimes, if you get an telecom audit, then things will all clear up!

Mandatory Spay/Neuter? 2007-06-11 16:10:35 So there is a lot of argument, discussion, and interest in the HP 1634 in California lately. The ‘California Healthy Pet Act’ I guess it’s called. Around about what I’ve heard, it’s a mandatory Spay/Neuter
law.
Many breeders are fighting it. Many show people and competition people are also fighting it. And I can see their concern. They don’t want their breeding rights taken away. If this passes, they will have to get permits to have an intact dog (as far as I understand).
CA Healthy Pets is a website that has a lot of good information about it.
Also from what I understand, and correct me if I’m wrong, no one would be able to have an intact dog without a permit. Permits would be given out for dogs in conformation shows. And going into CA with an intact animal will not be punished.
I read that CA has over 800,000 abandoned cats and dogs per year.
The sad thing is, animals are dying because people want to continue to be able to breed irresponsib Read more:Mandatory
Love Hawaii 2007-06-11 14:01:58 I went to Hawaii
once, way back probably in 1995 or 1996. I don’t remember now. But it was a lot of fun and I’d love to go again. I even know a couple people who live in Hawaii now… well, I know them through the internet, anyway. I wish I could take the dogs. They would have a ton of fun on the beach. Chase loves the beach!
And it would be especially fun to have one of these hawaii beach front cottages. Just think… how would it be, sleep in in the morning, then get up late, let the dogs out, and go frolic in the beach. Under a warm sun.
On the hawaii beach front cottages website, you can search for your price range, you can look up activities that you love to do, and you can find them on whichever island you prefer.
aaahhh… how would it be?
Standard Exc B Saturday June 9 2007 2007-06-11 09:29:52 Okay, this is like the worst run ever. LOL okay maybe not the worst, but it felt rotten and we didn’t do very well. Another pop out of the weaves. What do you think, was it me? I’m starting to think that I cannot analyze myself for every weave performance Levi does. He really needs to do a lot of it on his own. Sunday I made him go through the last poll. Not sure if I should have or not. I was not mad at him. I’ll get those videos up tonight.
I snuck in a fancy blind cross in this run (beginning sequence), and how about that tunnel to the weaves? It was very tricky and not many dogs got it.

Smorty 2007-06-11 07:06:58 I’ve hooked up with a new site that lets me get paid to blog. So you may see some posts about them in the future. So far they haven’t had many dog related opps, but they are a good growing company that is building a good reputation.
I hope to get paid for blogging for them and donate the proceeds to Utah Collie Rescue, just as I have in the past on my blogs. When I blog for money, it all goes to Utah Collie Rescue to help the collies.
So we’ll see what sorts of things they have for me to blog about, it will be interesting and fun to work with them!
Finally a Video! 2007-06-10 21:53:41 Finally YouTube has one of the videos ready for viewing. This is our Jumpers run on Saturday. It was a good run, except those weaves. What do you think, did I pull Levi out at the 10th poll?

YouTube June 14 2007-06-14 22:05:04 Well, the connection here at the Hotel is good enough to upload to YouTube
!
And it’s already available. Going to bed now.. but here is Levi’s JWW run. I couldn’t see him skip polls in the video, but I know he did when I was by his side.
And a short clip of Chase Swimming in a reservoir we found before we got up here Wednesday.
Agility Today 2007-06-14 20:50:28 UUGGGHH!!! No fun! Well, fun and no fun. Levi did AWESOME in his jumpers run. No Q, but he had speed. And he not only entered the weaves, he finished them too! Nevermind the couple he skipped in the middle, LOL. I actually didn’t care about those. I just wanted him to no pop the 10th poll. And he didn’t! But he got an R and an F for skipping them. That’s okay. He did really good.
Then me, Levi and Chase went for a walk… and Levi seemed to step in something. Suddenly he kinda started then walked by my side the rest of the way back to our tent. And when I trotted him, he limped. BOOOOO. So he was limping the rest of the day. I looked him all over, we stretched him out, and still he was limping. So not sure if it’s in pad (he seems to have a raw spot but not sure), or in his muscles. So I pulled him from FAST and Standard. Made me really sad.
I thought of going to see the show vet at about 5:30 PM, after they had gone. Oops. So tomorrow if he’s Read more:Today
June 14 Meme Results 2007-06-14 20:33:50 We have some participants from the June 14 Animal Site Review Meme! Thanks you guys for participating!
If anyone else adds in for the rest of the day, I’ll edit this post and get your URL listed as well.
So far we have a couple of great participants.
The first is
Johann the Dog, with a great review of Petfinder
And the second is Leigh from
Prismt of Whispers with a great review of Pet Tails.
So please check out these sites and see what they have to say!
I am in Blackfoot, Idaho currently, doing agility.. so I don’t have much time to reply to comments. The trial is going super long. It’s full at 330 dogs per day including FAST, and as I type this, 7:33 PM MDT, Open Standard was still running and Novice Standard will end the day hopefully soon. I’m in the hotel eating pizza and the boys are sleeping.
Thursday June 14 2007 Meme 2007-06-14 07:01:24 It’s time for a meme! I am actually in Blackfoot, Idaho, doing agility with my dogs this day. So I posted this Wednesday to show up Thursday
morning. I will probably be able to get online to finish of the meme.
I posted my Animal Site Review for this week’s meme. Tip Tails Meme Participation. So once you post your review, either link here for a pingback, or link to Tip Tails meme participation post. And then on Friday after all the participation is done, I’ll post up a link with everyone’s sites and we can all go visit.
So hopefully there will be participation! This is a new meme. And don’t worry about the ‘rules’, ultimately it’s just for fun and do whatever you want to do!
And if you need some hair restoration, don’t hesitate to get that too!
Thursday Meme 6/14/07 - Fuzzy Logic! 2007-06-13 19:33:42 This week’s Animal Review Meme, on this site anyway, is of FuzzyLogic
!
Fuzzy Logic, and her other websites under the energypaws.com domain name, is run by Jen. I have known Jen for a while now, probably a couple of years. We met on a message forum called Pet Scoop. It’s an excellent board with a lot of fun and intelligent animal people.
Multi-Talented Sacred Paws
Jen is a multi-talented, wonderful person. She is an animal communicator (she talked to Levi and Angel for me a couple years ago), she makes gorgeous dog collars (two of my dogs are wearing them now, and we need more). Jen and her partner, Michelle, have three Bullmastiffs. They are big wonderful dogs she has worked with a great deal. I love seeing the pictures of them whenever I look at her website.
Raw Diet at Sacred Paws
Jen is the one who turned me on to the Volhard Diet for my dogs. I started feeding raw July 2006. I still feed the Volhard diet mostly… but again I am experimenting with various alt Read more:Thursday
Hotels and Dogs 2007-06-13 13:58:53 Well the Blackfoot hotel called. When I first made reservations I got a smoking room with a fridge and a microwave. Only because they didn’t have a non-smoking room with a fridge available. My friend and I need the fridge for our raw dog food.
Well, they called, they had to move me because they didn’t have a smoking room with a fridge. And they thought smoking took precedence. So they put us in a smoking room with no fridge! Ugh! I called them back, said I don’t care if it’s smoking or non, but I need that fridge! LOL.
They just don’t understand dog people. Read more:Hotels
Standard June 10 2007-06-13 10:27:43 Okay after almost two days of waiting YouTube finally has my video live. I wonder why it took so long. If I had any motivation I read their help. Oh well, I just waited.
This is the one where I made Levi go through that last poll. And you can clearly see here that I am moving forward steadily, I don’t change my pace at the end, or move off in any way. So this one is about him, the little buggar.

Sammy… 2007-06-18 22:02:02 Well, the family interested in Sammy
has him tonight. Stressed me out. Placing dogs is the hardest part of rescue. Very nice family, I just hope that their other dog will accept Sammy. They seem like they are willing to work with them.
Sammy is a good boy and gets along with other dogs. I screwed up and introduced them too fast. Entirely my fault. My brain is still mush from the trial. I guess we all make mistakes. Though I do think dogs can get around that with time and work.
So now I’m stressed and have to go utilize Luna Tail, my anxiety blog, to work out my emotions about it all. :p
Truth Extraction Device 2007-06-18 18:00:06 I love USA Network shows. I watch a number of them. My only disappointment with them is there are not enough episodes per year! But I watch them anyway. And I’m very excited to see a new show, USA Network’s Burn Notice. It’s about Michael Weston, a former spy who has gotten a ‘Burn Notice’ and basically can no longer work as a spy. So what does he do? He becomes a private investigator.
To get ready for this show, Chase and I made our own spying gaget. Using some things we found around our house, I managed to put together a TruthExtractionDevice
. Every private investigator needs one! And I bet Chase would be an excellent side-kick for a PI. Here is the making of our device:
Sam and Mac update 2007-06-18 15:56:51 Well, these two boys are still with us. The good news is, we have inquiries on both of them. I hope they work out. I never set my heart on it 100% until they are in their new homes and have been there for a month or so.
The family interested in Mac lives in Logan. They are out of town this weekend and when they get back we will visit their home and see how it would work out. I love seeing the foster dogs in new happy homes.
The people interested in Sammy, though, haven’t gotten back to me. Which makes me worry. I will try calling them again later today. Sam likes to chase the kitties so they would be happy if he got a new home soon.
Helping Loans 2007-06-18 12:03:20 As I sit here on the couch with Chase on one side, upside down, and Levi on the other.. getting mad at me for taking too much couch space, I’m thinking of my ugly kitchen upstairs and how nice it would be to fix it up. If I did, I’d have to get a loan. I don’t have enough money yet to just do it. And since I prepare the dogs raw food now, my kitchen just bugs the crap out of me. I don’t really like to get personal loans, but every time I deal with my kitchen I really think I need a loan. And loans aren’t always bad. Especially home loans that help increase the value of your home.
And Debt consolidation loans sometimes help, too. But then you really have to change your spending patterns so that you don’t get back into debt again! So anyway… thinking of a loan… Read more:Helping

Chase Swims 2007-06-18 11:58:38 Here is a short clip of Chase Swimming in a reservoir we found before we got up there on Wednesday. We didn’t stop on the way home, though, I was too tired. And Chase was tired too even though he didn’t run. Hopefully he’ll get back into it pretty soon.
I’m thinking of seeing if I can go practice on my own, agility, for a while to work on the things I need to work on with my boys. Instead of doing a group class. Group classes are great but sometimes I can’t work on the small things I need to, like Chase’s contacts.
Relaxing 2007-06-18 11:01:54 Whew. I get to relax today! Might see if someone is still interested in adoptiong Sammy. That would be awesome. There was an inquiry when I was in Idaho. I haven’t heard back from them though so I always wonder. But we’ll see. I’m tired, sitting on the couch catching up on blogs and emails and everything. Lucy eating my edamame. Stargate SG1 is on all day so that’s a good thing to have on TV while I’m on the laptop.
I need a break from vacations. Wish I could take a week off and just say at home with the dogs. Someday I would love to do Crewed Yacht Charters, as we had a sailboat for a while, and I would sooo love to sail around for a while! Can’t take the dogs, though.
Home Again 2007-06-17 21:51:59 I am back from Idaho. I am dead tired. Levi was so tired on the drive home… he hogs the back seat of the car and Chase only gets a little part. He is so goofy. Levi’s head was on Chase’s bum, and Levi’s mouth was hanging open and his legs all splayed out. I thought he might be dead LOL. So I pushed at him and he was fine.
He did great today. He popped his weaves on his 2nd run (std). And on his jumpers run he went to see what the chute was, as it was blowing like 30 mpg all morning. Ugh. It was nasty. So we only got the one Q. But hey, it’s a Q we wouldn’t have had if we hadn’t have gone. I was hoping for more, but Levi did a good job.
I’m tired, will probably blog more tomorrow.
I’m glad I’m not in High School so I don’t have to get any prom dresses 2008. Since I don’t dress up for agility! But the conformation people sure dress up. Read more:Again
Wubba! 2007-06-22 12:43:03 I just had to post about these way cool dog toys (no this is not a sponsored post!). This post is just because Wubbas are so completely cool.
My dogs are not big toy dogs.. well, the collies are not, anyway. But Chase is. And he loves sqeakers, and he is learning to play fetch (he loves chasing a frisbee).
We got Mac a Wubba from Wubba World. I actually bought it at the dog show in Blackfoot. Huge show. These toys are so cool. Our old one, the squeaker is broken. The new one is great. It’s going to go to Mac’s new home with him. Because he loves chasing the darn thing.
They have Water Wubbas, and Night Wubbas, and Snugga Wubbas, and big Wubbas and little Wubbas. And the name Wubba is so dang fun to say! LOL.
Mac, go find your Wubba! Gets a bit tail wag and a bark at our house.
Vacation to London 2007-06-22 11:28:31 I would love to go to London. It’s one of the things I want to do before I die. London, Ireland, and Scotland. All three. I should have when I was a kid. Or even through any of Europe, get a train pass and just go. Alas, maybe now when I retire, and only if I have less dogs… because I’d have to board them (I’ll never be without dogs ).
Anyway, instead of staying in hostels, which my Mom always talks about, there is a place to find Hotels in London. So you can get a room instead of just a bed. And they are well located, too.
Someday!

Sammy Update 2007-06-22 09:22:11 Well.. I got an email from Sammy
’s new home. Wow, they are really putting in a lot of work to help their dog adjust to him. They got baby gates and have separated their house so they can be together but not quite be together. I am impressed.
They said he seemed sad the first couple of days, but is now adjusting. So hopefully it will work out and he’s in his new home. I never count on things for sure until like at least a month has gone by. But maybe I should take his ad off petfinder…
Cross your fingers!

Busy Saturday 2007-06-22 09:14:39 Well tomorrow is going to be busy for me. Good busy, I hope. In the morning Smokey (aka Cheyenne) is going to come and I get to groom him. Woo Hoo! I am excited to see him again. Hopefully it won’t take me very long. As I have a doctor appointment at 9am. So brush and trim and bathe him as much as I can before my appointment, then finish up after.
Then when he is done I’m going to drive Mac up to Logan to see about a home up there. The people seem really great. I hope he fits in. I’ll bring all his stuff and if it works out, I’ll leave him there. I think I’m going to bring Angel in the car with me too, because she doesn’t get out much and would like a ride.
I’m also doing a home check for Southwest Collie Rescue up in Ogden. I guess they don’t have much luck placing smoothies and this family is interested in a smoothie. Man, how come they have problems with smoothies! I love them, and have three.
So big driving day, but I hope t Read more:Saturday
Sandcastles 2007-06-21 16:19:41 I want to take the dogs to the beach! Okay okay, I will be able to, the boys at least, when we go back to dog camp in September. But I’d love to take the girls, too, and sit on the beach all day and build Sandcastles
.
Since we can’t do that in real life, well, we can do it online. I went and built a sandcastle today, and you can see my image of it here. I like sand-colored sandcastles, instead of blue ones. But you can make them any color you want. And put in shells and seagulls and flags and starfish. I might have overdid it with the starfish but I love those little guys.
This website lets you email your castle as an e-card to friends and family. They also will search for great vacation packages for you if you really want to go to the beach. I would love to go on vacation again. I haven’t been to a warm water and sand spot for years now. It’s about time.
This sandcastle builder is easy, and fun for kids, too. I don’t have any kids myself, just my do
Body Slammed 2007-06-21 09:16:08 Last night I took Chase and Levi to flyball practice. Chase is doing really good. His box turn seems to be improving. Which is good, because we have our first tournament in St George, Utah, on June 30th. That’s only a bit more than a week away. Hopefully he’ll be fine in the environment. I’ve been told it’s wild and crazy. I think Chase will handle it. I’m only going to take Chase, not Levi. For some bonding time. I’m so bonded to Levi that sometimes Chase doesn’t get as much attention. So it’ll be good for both Chase and myself.
After flyball the dogs all ran around together. I let Levi out, and he and Chase screamed across the park. Was very fun to watch. I was surprised when Levi body slammed Chase! Levi doesn’t usually body slam, so it was cute. Chase took a big tumble but he was okay.
Someone brought jumps and weaves, too. We practiced. Levi’s weaves were beautiful. I haven’t practiced them since the trial last
Plug Boards are Fun 2007-06-20 17:50:59 I’ve discovered Plug Boards. Not many of them, mind, but a couple. You can upload an image and your URL and your image shows until you get pushed out of the crowd.
So I made a little 88×31 image for Tip Tail. I made one for each of my 4 blogs, to see the rest head over to Luna Tail which is my generic (mostly) blog where I’ve posted them all.
