I am one of those 10% of Americans that has a passport, has been overseas, and has served in the Armed Forces. I am also a product of two cultures having spent 41 years of my life in the USA and 13 years in Europe; mostly Luxembourg and my birthplace Germany. I have also chosen to live in Europe; a decision made one year before 911.
Europe is an exciting place to be today. It is where we Americans were in mind and spirit in the 1960's when Civil Rights, Workers and Union Rights, were hard fought for and won. Many of those victories are lost now, and the freedoms which we Americans have taken for granted and many of which we are now losing are thriving in Europe and growing.
