Over Two Months of Blogging
2007-05-24 03:53:00
It seems that I started my blog just yesterday, incredible how the time flows. Anyway, this blog is now over 2 months old and I don’t have any plans to stop blogging in the future. I checked how many posts I wrote and it seems that so far on average I am posting over 3 blog entries per week. When it comes to making money on the internet, there are more and more opportunities that just pop up and it is quite a challenge to monitor all of them and write without any bias about them. So far I did not receive any negative feedback about my blog, but received some positive ones which are quite motivating (keep them coming :-). When it comes to traffic and readers due to me joining the technorati exchange program I think this blog got more popular, which as I say is always a good thing. I also submitted this website to many directories and joined different sites to promote my blog. Recently I am more involved in reading and commenting on different blogs or forums about blogging. In the upcom

Avoiding Scams – Checking Particular Websites
2007-05-28 09:34:00
As I promised in my last post I am going to write how specifically you can check if a particular website is a scam. Great tools for this are forums which are created for this sole purpose. The website which I use the most is www.scam.com. This forum has 21 different scam categories like: internet scams, work from home scams, auction scams, and even religious scams (although I was not reading anything about this category yet). Anyway the best way to use this forum is to take advantage out of the search box. I will give an example of Doba (online dropshipper). Simply write Doba in the search box. In this case, this particular query returned about 50 results. After reading a few posts you will see that although Doba is not completely a scam and might not be categorized as a scam by some people, the prices are so high that you will not make any profit by selling on eBay, even though Doba encourages it. I would still categorize this company as a scam according to my previous post, since the

Get Paid to Blog – PayPerPost Direct
2007-06-01 04:23:00
PayPerPost Direct is a new service offered by PayPerPost. PayPerPost Direct is similar to ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews in a sense that it allows bloggers to sell their sponsored posts directly to advertisers which visit their site. In this case it handles it through a widget or badge, which informs advertisers that the blogger is interested in posting sponsored posts through PayPerPost Direct. The service allows bloggers and advertisers to negotiate the pricing and post details. Also one of the key features is quick payment – bloggers receive payment as soon as the advertiser approves the review. For whom this offer is especially attractive:Blogs which are very popular can negotiate high prices for their posts. In many cases they amount to a few hundred dollars per post.PayPerPost Direct is more attractive for blogs which are very popular since other services pay usually $5 per post.Blogs which are already approved by PayPerPost. For whom this offer is not as attractive:Blogs which is

Get Paid to Blog – PayPerPost
2007-05-30 07:22:00
PayPerPost is currently one of the most popular “Get Paid to Blog” companies. Bloggers get paid for posting on their blog about a product/company in a specified manner such as buzz, reviews or feedback. PayPerPost was founded on June 30, 2006 and as of April 30, 2007 introduced a new system where advertisers can specifically choose which blogs will qualify for their opportunity by indicating minimum Technorati rank, Google Page Rank, Alexa rank and blogger quality rank a blog has to have to be accepted. If you want to make a lot of money through PayPerPost you should definitely work on those ranks, because otherwise you may miss out some great opportunities. Before you will be able to choose any opportunities your blog will have to be accepted. Here are some of the requirements:-Your Blog has to be at least 3 months old.-Your Blog has to have at least 20 posts during the last 90 days.-Your Blog cannot have gaps in posting longer than 30 days (sorry no long vacations for bloggers:))

Get Paid for Playing Online Games – Second Life
2007-06-05 08:12:00
Second Life developed by Linden Lab is another online computer game which gives an opportunity to earn real money. Actually it is a whole virtual world, where players or rather “residents” can explore, meet other residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, create and trade items, virtual property and services from one another. One of the distinguishing characteristics of Second Life is that the players, not Linden Lab, create most of the content of the world. There is a 3D modeling tool in Second Life that allows any resident with the right skills to build virtual buildings, landscape, vehicles, furniture, and machines to use, trade, or sell. This is a primary source of activity in the economy. It is not an action or role-playing game - there are no levels, no clear winners or losers. This game has a lot of features like transportation via vehicles such as go-karts or even helicopters, submarines and hot-air balloons. Now let’s take a closer look at the o

Get Paid to View Ads - Clixsense
2007-06-04 08:21:00
Clixsense is a “Get Paid to View Ads” type of company. Basically you get paid for browsing ads and viewing them for 30 seconds. You can view up to 5 ads per day and you get paid for viewing each ad from $0.01 up to $5, but usually you will be paid from $0.01 to $0.1. You can select the type of ads you wish to view, so they can match your interests, although I selected all of them since I believe you can earn more money this way. Payments are made by check on the 10th each month provided that your earnings amounted to $10. If your account balance is less than $10, earnings will carry forward until such month as you have met the minimum check requirement. Clixsense offers an affiliate program where you earn 10% of the revenues collected from your referrals and 50% commission on any member you refer who upgrades their account to premium status. Premium status enables you to view more ads, but costs $10. I will not be upgrading to premium status, because I don’t believe you should pa

Blog Advice - Adding a Translation Widget
2007-06-08 04:48:00
For a long time, I was looking for a translation widget for my blog which is hosted on blogspot, but I did not want it to take too much valuable space. I found some working widgets, but they were definitely taking too much space on my sidebar. After learning how some other widgets work, finally I decided to create my own, which would take advantage out of Google Translate. Here is how it looks like:To translate the whole webpage you simply have to click on the flag icon corresponding to the appropriate language. Simple as that!Arguments for having a translation widget:It is a good way to make reading easier for existing readers, for whom English is not a first language. It is a good way to attract new readers from non-English speaking countries. It makes your blog look more sophisticated. It shows openness to other cultures and ideas.Adding a small widget will not take too much valuable space on your sidebar. To add this widget to your website, you simply have to copy the widget code and p

Get Paid for Ads – AuctionAds
2007-06-07 04:06:00
AuctionAds is a program which enables you to display relevant eBay listings on your website by putting up a code on your site. You earn money when your site's visitors click on an AuctionAds Ad and take an “action” on eBay. Actions are defined as a winning bid, a Buy-it-Now or a confirmed user registration. AuctionAds states that it is paying out a minimum of 100% of eBay commission revenue. Since AuctionAds is not a contextually based ad product, it is compatible with other ad systems, which means that you display it along Google AdSense or other ad systems. AuctionAds sends out payments the first day of every month via PayPal. The payment is for all revenue generated the previous month. There is a $10 minimum payout for earnings. One of the reasons why I decided to check out this company is that I got an e-mail from AuctionAds this week informing me that they give a free $5.00 bonus for ReviewMe publishers who sign up this week. Since I am a ReviewMe publisher I decided to join

Blog Advice - MyBlogLog Community Exchange
2007-06-06 03:53:00
As a lot of you know, I was participating (and still am) in Technorati link & favorites exchange. The program appeared to be very successful – I got almost 100 fans now and the number is growing. That is why I decided to participate in a brand new, but similar idea - MyBlogLog community exchange. If you are interested in gaining a lot of traffic and increasing the number of readers you have to your blog, this is a very good opportunity for you. The rules are very simple:Join all of the MyBlogLog communities on the list below. Copy the list and create a new post on your blog and paste the list onto your post. Write a brief paragraph that explains what the game is above the list (just as I have done here). Add 2 or 3 more MyBlogLog communities to the list and then publish the post. If you want to be added to this list, simply drop me a comment below. This exchange will not only bring new readers to your website, but also increase your backlinks and will be a lot of fun!Successful Blogg

General Advice – Earn Money Browsing
2007-06-13 05:01:00
SlashMySearch claims that their search engine is designed to get the best results on the internet quickly and effectively. Using proprietary algorithms, their search engine is able to "slash" through more of the junk and find the most relevant results. They filter results from Yahoo, AltaVista, Excite, the Google search engine, their databases and several other sources. They also track what results are visited the most and refine our database with that information. I personally think that it is a matter of personal preference which search engine someone likes the most and I suggest simply checking out SlashMySearch’s search engine to make up your mind if you find it appealing.SlashMySearch is a company which believes that the profits made on the internet should be shared with the users that are helping make that happen. That is why you are going to be paid for surfing on the internet. You simply have to set SlashMySearch.com as your homepage and use them as your primary search engine

Avoiding Scams – Protect Yourself from Internet Scams
2007-06-18 07:32:00
The issue of internet scams is very complex and if you want to protect yourself from it, then you also need to be well informed. Even though the type of scams I want to write about are not directly related to money making opportunities, every internet user is going to encounter at least some of them during his life. I also think that any person who wants to make money online should really be well informed about such issues – it will save you a lot of money and time. This time I would like to discuss a so called “Second Chance Offer” scam that people fall for every year:Online Auctions - The Second Chance Offer Let's assume that you are visiting a popular online auctions website like eBay and you bid on an expensive item that you really need to have. Then you notice that the item did not sell because it did not meet the reserve price and you are contacted about a “second chance offer” from the seller, who agrees to sell you the item for the price you were willing to pay. General Advice – TreasureTrooper
2007-06-26 04:19:00
TreasureTrooper is an excellent website which will pay you for completing offers and doing daily surveys. You get paid for each offer from $0.25 to $40 and currently there are almost 400 offers. There are many people who earned at least $100 the first month. It is very easy to complete the offers and that is why I claim that this is an excellent opportunity for many people. An example of an offer would be to sign up for a free 30 day trial of Efax and get paid $7.50 or sign up for a free credit report and get paid $9.00. There are also opportunities upon which completion you will get paid even more, like signing up for the free trial of Vonage and being paid $40.00. If you run out of the top paying offers, there are many that will pay you $0.25-$1 for completion. On top of that you can complete a daily survey for $0.75 or even get involved in cash back shopping, where TreasureTrooper will return some portion of money you spend at selected online shops. You will also be earning gold coi

Blog Advice – Blog Directories
2007-06-25 06:28:00
Submitting your website to different blog directories is an excellent way to increase your website’s Page Rank and attract new readers. It is very important to have your website listed in many places, if you want to be a successful blogger. Each submission will give you a backlink and each backlink will help the popularity of your blog. Over the last couple of weeks/months I have been submitting my blog to many directories. To help me in my task I was using different lists of directories and I noticed that a lot of directories were no longer existing, not accepting registrations or you had to pay to be included there. I would like to share the result of my work with you, by providing a list of directories, which should be up to date and free to be included, because I submitted my blog to them during the last few weeks. Some of them will require your blog to have at least few posts. Here is the list:www.technorati.com www.findory.com www.blogflux.com www.blogarama.com www.bloogz.com

Avoiding Scams – Cashfiesta.com
2007-06-29 03:51:00
When I was looking for a good opportunity to get involved in, I stumbled upon a few websites, but the one in which I got most interested today was Cashfiesta.com. Unfortunately after researching it I found that it is not a good money making program and that is why I decided to post about it in the “Avoiding Scams” category. While Cashfiesta.com might pay you when you reach the minimum payout, the small amount of money you will earn taking into account the time you will need to invest definitely puts it in this category. Instead of writing my thoughts in my own words, I decided to quote some opinions of other people about the program:“Terrible pay, unsound business” by jrmj“Lack of advertising, don't live up to promises, hard to pin down, untrustworthy” by flashpointz“Poor pay rate, possibility of losing points if bar crashes, few ways to make money other than the bar” by Stalin (hope it is not the Stalin I am thinking about)“Low rates, absolutely NO RESPONSE when yo

Blog Advice – Blog Toplists
2007-07-07 03:33:00
Submitting your website to blog toplists is another excellent way to increase your website’s Page Rank and attract new readers. The difference between a toplists and directory is that toplists require you to put a small widget on your website and whenever you have a visitor on your website, the widget registers it and your blog moves up in the toplist ranking. If you are quite high in the ranking you might expect a lot of incoming visitors from the toplists.Over the last couple of weeks I have submitted my blog to the toplists listed below. Actually I have submitted to more toplists, but either they were not working or not accepting new registrations. Blog Advice – “Get Paid to Review my Post” Badge

If you join PayPerPost by clicking on the “Get Paid to Review my Post” badge in the footer of my posts, there will be a special opportunity created just for you to review my post. Before you will be able to take this offer your blog will have to be approved, so wait until your blog is at least 3 months old and has 20 posts before submitting.Another thing which I want to write about is to encourage bloggers who already joined PPP to implement this badge at the bottom of their posts. Blog Advice - I signed up for PayPerPost

This time I want to announce that after fulfilling the necessary requirements this blog got approved by PPP and in the following weeks you might expect some sponsored posts written for them. I just want to say that I joined PPP because I believe that it is a good program and that the programs which I recommend on this blog I tend to get involved with. Blog Advice - Protect your Blog Content
2007-07-18 05:45:00
A lot of bloggers are worried about others “stealing” their posts and posting them on some other blogs without permission or any kind of acknowledgment who is the real author of the post. One of the reasons that people keep doing such things is that it is a lot easier to have rich content on your blog copy/pasting rather than writing posts yourself. Many people think that nobody will notice that the content was taken from another website and they feel pretty safe doing so. Unfortunately for them there are tools to look for plagiaristic content and one of such tools is copyscape.com. It is a website which basically searches the internet for copies of your website/blog entry and lists the results for you to analyze. It is a free service and a lot of websites like getafreelancer.com for example take advantage out of it to check if submitted articles are original. Keep in mind that if somebody copies your blog entry to a website which is not indexed by Google, copyscape.com might not d

Blog Advice - Alexa Releases Toolbar for Firefox
2007-07-25 03:12:00
Alexa toolbar is a tool that is used by Alexa to measure website statistics. It provides information about the current Alexa ranking of the website that the user is visiting. Alexa traffic rank measures the popularity of the website by measuring how many people visit the website while having the Alexa toolbar installed. Having high Alexa rank will help the ratings of your blog, which in turn will qualify you for more money making opportunities. In my opinion it is extremely important to have a good Alexa rank if you are serious about making money blogging. If you use Firefox it is a good idea to install the toolbar, as it will boost your websites rank if you visit your website often. On the other hand it is also a good idea to recommend your readers to install the toolbar, because it will boost your website ranking as well, while providing interesting information and graphs to your readers about the websites that they visit. You can download the toolbar at this address:http://alexa.com
