DISH Network Launches NBA TV HD 2007-11-18 19:45:34 Earlier this month, EchoStar Communication Corporation’s DISH Network added NBA
TV HD to its lineup of high-definition channels.
NBA TV features weekly live NBA games in HD, exclusive interviews and basketball news. In addition, the station offers original programming that spotlights today’s players and coaches as well as the most memorable moments in NBA history.
Eric Sahl, DISH Network’s senior vice president of programming, said:
Bringing NBA TV HD to the home of the best sports and movies in HD is a natural move for Dish Network and a slam dunk for hoops fans.
DISH Network’s NBA TV HD is available for free on channel 402 with subscription to America’s Top 100 package with DishHD. DISH Deals Direct offers DishHD free for six months to new customers. Additionally, new customers can benefit from the DishDVR Advantage Package.

DISH Network Enhances Interactive Weather Channel Service 2007-11-28 22:09:21 EchoStar Communication Corporation’s DISH Network and The Weather Channel
recently announced that they are offering enhancements to their interactive television (iTV) service. DISH Network subscribers that view The Weather Channel will now have access to extensive local and national weather information, including current conditions, 24-hour and 5-day forecasts, and Doppler radar. The iTV service also allows viewers to access national weather forecasts and save up to 5 favorite locations for quick access. Viewers previously could only access interactive features and weather warnings through DishHOME channel 100.

32-inch Sharp AQUOS 1080p LCD Gaming TV Introduced 2007-12-09 01:03:08 Sharp has introduced a second-generation widescreen high-definition (HD) 1080p AQUOS LCD TV that is optimized for gaming. The 32-inch LCD HDTV, available in black, wine red or white, is specially designed to handle the highest frame rates of the most sophisticated video games available today. The model, LC-32GP3U, has a slim-line design and comes with a variety of features, including, most importantly for gaming, Vyper Drive, which all but eliminates lag time between video game console input and the TV display. The unit boasts a six-millisecond response time. Additionally, the TV has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and a 176-degree viewing angle.
The AQUOS 1080p LCD HDTV has a variety of connectivity options, including:
Two sets of component inputs
Three HDMI version 1.3 (x.v.ColorTM) inputs
PC connectivity via a 15-pin D-sub terminal (VGA connection)
