When do you blog?
2007-05-13 23:42:01
Seeing as the majority of the visitors to this site are bloggers themselves, I figured I would ask a general question. When do you blog? I spend all day trying to think of something to blog about, I come up with around 5 great ideas, but by the time I get back to my computer it seems I’ve convinced myself they are not good topics to blog about. So when I sit down my mind is blank, no good ideas and no direction online, hence the lack of interesting articles on the site. Last night I think I found the secret, I’m most creative when I’m extremely tired, see when I am completely lucid I think logically and for some reason seem to convince myself not to blog about 85% of the topics I come up with. If I’m extremely tired (as I am right now) I don’t have the willpower to argue with myself, as soon as I get an idea I am half way done writing about it before I think whether it would be accepted or not, much like my “If the Internet Crashed” article.

Earnings Report Week 6!
2007-05-13 19:39:27
This week has been quite hectic, I’m in the middle of a move, I bought a new domain name and have been busy setting that up and my internet access is gone for almost a week starting tonight. The week has still been decent as far as earnings go. Take a look. Google Adsense $12.63 (+$.01) Payperpost $84.50 (+$32.50) As you may have noticed I have removed basically all ads from the site, I’ve decided to focus on one ad group at a time to see what performs best on my site, Adsense wasn’t a very good earner for this blog for some reason, AuctionAds, what you see right now is performing great in the way of clicks, not so great in the way of sales. I will be running AuctionAds until I accumulate 300 clicks then I will change to a different set of ads. I updated the earnings tracker on the right side and also added a project budget, the budget is for my new site I will be running, I have been quoted around $1000 for the coding of the site so I will keep a progressive tab o

The Big Move!
2007-05-12 22:00:51
Today is the big day, I’m moving from one end of the city to the other. The reason I’m blogging about it, internet access, I won’t have any (Terrible), for almost a week. But, with the help of a few friends I should still be able to update the blog regularly, wouldn’t want to disappoint anyone, you might have even missed me. So chances are, I’m already moving, I’m probably moving as we speak, this post was done using wordpress’ handy timestamp feature, so wish me luck everyone and I hope to speak with each and every one of you very soon. World Wide Internet Crash!
2007-05-12 10:27:29
It’s gone, the entire internet has disappeared, a virus was recently developed called “vis major” the virus was sent from email account to email account unknowingly by surfers while they contracted the virus, the number of infected multiplied exponentially minute by minute. Symantec, the most popular anti virus site on the internet has absolutely no response to this virus, it is unlike anything they have ever seen, they simply wish you the best of luck. Experts estimate the entire internet will be effected by this monstrosity in less then 7 days and expect the world wide web to be permanently crippled if not destroyed. Ok, you got me, the above is a complete fabrication, none of it is real and some may not even make sense but, have you ever thought what if? We all spend so much time on the internet, the average U.S. family spends 3.6 hours online per day, that’s 25.2 hours a week or an even more astounding statistic that’s 1310.4 hours per year. Recent Acquisition of DylanKingsberry.com
2007-05-12 08:54:47
Welcome to DylanKingsberry.com. That’s right, this blog has changed from wmhaven.com to dylankingsberry.com, I have been dying to have a more personal feel on the blog and this seemed like a great way to do that. Don’t worry, nothing has changed except for the domain name. Now I know some are probably wondering what my motivation behind this was, I’ll explain. First of all, all the best bloggers out their have self titled blogs (John Chow, mrgarylee, jon lee etc), when you have a self titled blog it tells everyone, you’re proud, if you are willing to put your name on something, that’s a big deal, a big commitment, so it must be a respectable site. Also, like I mentioned earlier, it creates a more personal feel, do you think John Chow would be as successful as he is if his blog was called bloggingfromvancouver.com, 80% of people would have no idea who he was, mind you they may know the blog but, chances are they don’t know the blogger. So this is why

Figured I would enter the contest over at BloggingTips.com, the contest is called win a mascot at BloggingTips.com, that would be great if this site had a mascot, finally some images in the header. Unrealistic ReviewMe Prices!
2007-05-11 07:37:49
I just wanted to share a thought with everyone, I have been surfing my list of blogs which I view many times per day and have noticed something which bothers me. 2 weeks ago, none of these blogs had a pr and were worth nothing, recently the Google pagerank update occurred giving all the blogs between a pr 3-4, this is all well and good but it seems the blog owners think this gives them the right to up the ReviewMe prices on their blogs. Some have raised their prices from $40 to $60, some even to $80, in my mind this is ridiculous. No one was buying your reviews before and if you double the price it will continue this way, now, before the update people weren’t buying reviews not because you didn’t have a pr, but probably because A) You do not write well enough to meet their expectations. B) You don’t write with proper english C) Your blog simply sucks. Now I don’t mean to deface anyones blogs, but there are some out there that are in this game simply to make mo

Why I love Payperpost.com
2007-05-11 05:15:49
As most of my readers know, I have been signed up with payperpost.com for probably just under a month. So far the experience has been great, I have 6 referrals which have reviewed my posts, each one of these reviews counts for $7.50, you can see that for a starting blog this is more than a great way to make money blogging. What I like the most about payperpost is the minimal requirements in order to join, your blog barely needs to be established in order to start earning money, as a pr 1 I was already being paid to post. As everyone else does I too already have plans for the money I am earning from this blog and like I have been saying from the first few posts, this blog is a stepping stone, I have been working tirelessly for 5 years on the internet and due to financial problems have never really been able to back any projects, all monies earned from this blog will be pooled in order to start my next project. Payperpost is contributing to my next project more so then any other program

Google Analytics Beta Reporting.
2007-05-08 23:50:17
Google Analytics seems to have changed the interface of their reporting today, I have to say I’m pretty impressed, the reporting is quite a bit more in depth now and is so much more valuable to my site. Here are a few images. Traffic Sources Overview Referring Sites Website Profile As you can see these reports are much more pleasing to the eye. Not to sure if these reports will stay in beta or become the default reports but, for now, I’m pretty pleased with them. Log into your analytics account and check them out. See Ya Dylan Kingsberry

MyBlogLog Premium Membership!
2007-05-08 09:00:12
Recently I signed up for a premium membership to MyBlogLog, I figured I would post back and let everyone know how it’s going. For those who don’t know, MyBlogLog is an insanely popular blogging community which enables bloggers from across the globe to keep in touch relatively easy. Why Buy Premium ? I asked myself the exact same thing a moment or two before I bought it, here are my reasons for buying. 1) Statistics, I wanted to see how reliable the statistics generated by MyBlogLog were compared to Google Analytics or Awstats. 2) Cost, at only $3.00 a month it is not a large investment, especially if the statistical output was what I was expecting. Overall thoughts: I’ve had the membership for about 2 weeks now, it seems to me that the upgrade is completely useless, the only thing premium members get that normal members don’t is statistics and I could guess better than they report. I’m actually quite disappointed by MyBlogLog, I was hoping the statstics w

Blog with Confidence!
2007-05-17 19:23:14
Too often when it comes to personal opinions online self confidence gets in the way, people are flamed in forums, bashed in comments, sometimes even in blog posts. I believe many people don’t write or blog to their full potential because of this reason. Have you ever been writing a post on your blog and as soon as you hit the period key to end a great sentence you think ” well what if someone challenges me?” or “What if my facts/thoughts aren’t correct?”. To put it plain and simple, don’t worry about it, your thoughts are your thoughts, your opinions are your opinions, if you have been in your niche for quite awhile and have a tight grasp on the concept chances are you know what your talking about, don’t compromise your posts integrity just because you have been bashed in the past. I’m sure when John Chow and Darren Rowse first started out, they were thinking this as well. If you would like to make it online, blogging or not you

Auction Ads Program Review!
2007-05-17 01:22:04
I have been testing auctionads for just over a month now off and on, the performance has really been all over the map. Has gone, on a daily basis from 5% to .5%, even with onle 500 views, this is a huge drop. Now for those who don’t know the background on auctionads, to sum it up, auctionads is a cpa ad agency which displays ads of ebay auctions which are running right now. The layout is brilliant, the ads are beautiful for the most part, my only quarrel is you don’t control the ads, the ebay seller does. If he is selling a ww2 playstation game and uses the display picture of Adolf Hitler, it shows on your site, there is nothing you can do about it. The best thing about auctionads is the ctr, when I changed all my Google Adsense to auctionads my ctr immediately tripled. If you are looking to get into auctionads remember it is a cpa, which means you only get paid “When your site’s visitors click on an Auction Ad listing and take an action on eBay you earn cas

Payperpost Payment Received!
2007-05-18 19:00:23
Yesterday I received my first payperpost payment, mind you it was not much but, it’s a start and as John Chow says it all adds up. Now, I barely even had to work for this payment, I received this payment for reviewing one of Kumiko Suzuki’s posts. All posts from payperpost take about a month to clear, they just want to ensure that you don’t submit the post, have it approved then delete it. Here is a screen shot of the transaction. All I had to do was click the button following her post, it looked alot like this one Only pink. of course. If your interested in receiving $7.50 for basically nothing, either click the button above or the button following this pos, sign up, review my post and you will be paid. It’s that easy. Payperpost has been my best earner as you can see from the earnings tracker on your right, I should be receiving payments from them for the next month every other day or so. Good luck everyone. How to Increase Link Popularity Part 2
2007-05-23 11:30:57
Back again for part 2. In Part 1 we covered LinkBaiting, Commenting and Social Exchanges, I received good feedback from that post so I am very excited about the next 2. 1) Blog Carnivals Blog Carnivals are an extremely easy way to increase backlinks, mind you it won’t be an enormous burst of traffic but slowly your link popularity will increase. For a quick reference page on what a blog carnival is and how to use it visit fivecentnickel.com they have written a great article on the benefits of the blog carnival. 2) Contests Contests can net you hundreds of back links or even blog reviews over a month but, obviously there has to be a prize behind it. This is more for the semi established blogger, not everyone is able to offer a prize especially one that will catch the blogosphere’s eye. There are some great contests running online right now, Kevin over at bloggings tips is running the popular “win a mascot at BloggingTips.com” which I have of course entered wit

How to Increase Link Popularity Part 1
2007-05-21 01:59:31
How to increase link popularity is one of the most common searches online today, everyone and there dog wants to know how to do it. Not many people can do it effectively. So, to help out I’m going to map out a few ways for you to increase link popularity to your blog. To begin, if you haven’t already opened an account with technorati do so now, this is an absolute must for all blogs, you will not be successful without it. 1) LinkBaiting (Link baiting, Linkbait, Link Bait etc) Probably the most common way to build your link popularity and the simplest, link building is like fishing, but you must ensure a few steps are completed in order to use it effectively, the article must be unique, don’t rehash another sites content and add a twist, make sure it is your unique work. It should be controversial, objecting to an industry professionals opinion or explaining your opinion on the latest industry news is the most effective. Even something as simple as a “How to b

Earnings Report Week 7!
2007-05-20 17:47:05
Hey everyone, back again to let you know my progress. I apologize to everyone for not posting as much lately, my internet was down for a day or so and I am trying to unpack in my new home but, it’s not working very well due to my schedule. There will be one more weekly earnings report this month, following that I will be posting monthly earning report in it’s place. To the earnings. Payperpost $107.00 (+$22.50) chitika $.19 (+.$19) Heeding the advice of the very wise Tyler Cruz I have removed the majority of my ads from the site, Tyler writes about this in his “You’re not a rockstar” article, it’s a good read take a look. I am focusing mainly on payperpost right now for my earnings, I am mainly earning through referrals right now which I like because it means I’m not forced to post unrelated content to earn money. If you would like to join and earn money for nothing take a look at the site here. I’ve updated the earnings tracker so you

Smorty.com Update
2007-05-26 12:31:14
I have been with Smorty.com for around a month or so, for those of you who do not know what Smorty is view my Smorty.com review. I just felt like posting a bit of an update and letting everyone know what my current thoughts are on the program. The first week being with the program was good, I posted a paid post, it was accepted in 3 days and I was paid in 9. To me that is how a paid posting site should be run but, since then there has been no action on the site at all, no new opportunities, period. The two opportunites that you see here are the same two that have been there since I signed up, in my opinion I don’t think Smorty has the advertising budget to keep advertisers coming in, which means they will lose their bloggers. I would like to know everyone else’s opinions, this may be because my blog isa low rank for PR and alexa. What do you think of Smorty? Have you been paid for posting from them? Dylan Kingsberry

Earn with PPP Direct.
2007-05-25 12:25:15
In the past couple of days payperpost has unveiled payperpost direct and taken quite the run at the other “paid to review” companies out there like review me and sponsoredreviews. In my opinion payperpost has revolutionized “paid to review”. No longer do we have to deal with 50%-100% markups, payperpost system performs much like that of review me, a badge is added to the bloggers site, and the advertiser contacts him/her through that badge and orders the review. There is one downside to ppp direct which is the lack of a marketplace, it is my understanding that this is in the works and may be unveiled soon. The main perk is the amount that payperpost actually makes, a bloggers price is immediately marked up 10% to account for paypal fees as well as payperpost’s earnings (after all we are all in it to make money), there has been alot of discussion about this in recent days, most notably on Kumiko’s blog, I don’t see why most bloggers seem to have

Payperpost.com: New and Improved.
2007-05-24 02:21:05
While making my hourly rounds this evening I decided to check payperpost to see if the scheduled maintenance had been completed, much to my surprise it had, and I was in store for a few features I wasn’t expecting. Here is a screen-shot from the new payperpost. As you can see there have been a few added function, let’s take a look at them. The plugin has a few handy uses, my favorite being the earnings tracking, much like the Google Adsense plugin for firefox this plugin shows not what you have earned but, what you have been paid. This is always good for those busy bloggers like Colleen, waiting for the payments to clear. It also gives you the ability to see if there is a blogging opportunity available for the current page that you are viewing and enables you to send feedback to the payperpost.com team on sites/pages you would like to blog about. The only function that does not cater specifically to your earnings is the “Todays Random 10″ which, when clicked sim

How to Increase Link Popularity Part 3
2007-05-28 23:44:30
Ok, finally the third and final installment in this trilogy, in the first post I summed up link baiting, social exchanges and comments, in the second I blogged about blog carnivals, contests and relationships. 1) Emailing After Posts This is a great tactic if you write an intriguing post, it is also probably one of the simplest techniques to getting links back. The process is easy, write your post, make sure it is a post worth reading, and email 5-10 users found at technorati or MyBlogLog stating that you’ve just completed this amazing post and it would be a terrible loss if they missed out on reading it, doing this landed me a pr 6 backlink from John Chow. 2) Tagging Some bloggers don’t participate in tagging because it does get a little out of hand, if a blogger sees you’ve responded to a few tags they may tag you repeatedly in hopes of a link back, only tag if it’s a topic anyone can blog about. I tagged a few people in my World Wide Internet Crash post and

Earnings Report Week 8!
2007-05-27 12:20:01
Hey everyone, back with the 8th and last earnings report, view the rest of them under Earnings Reports in the category section. Anyway, to get to the earnings. Payperpost: $159.50 (+$52.50) Contests: $50.00 As you can see I’m still simply focusing my ads on a select number of companies, this being payperpost and auctionads for now. Payperpost was good to me this week, with a few new referrals and a completed opportunity or two. Contest earnings are a new addition to the earnings report simply because I won some prizes in a contest run by Kevin over at bloggingtips.com, my prizes include a free domain name and $50 cash, thanks Kevin. Now, as I said last week this will be my last weekly earnings report, the next will come at the end of next month. Thanks everyone Dylan Kingsberry

Hello everyone, I bet some of you have been wondering where exactly I’ve been, well, I assure you I have not left, I am simply attempting to complete my #4 goal. Diversifying, in the last few days I have used the money won from Kevins contest to pick up a few scripts, now I’m not going to fully explain what I am doing as of right now but I will update you shortly. Thanks for sticking around everyone and I apologize for the short post. See you soon. Dylan Kingsberry

Introducing Sqwibble.com
2007-06-08 00:17:21
That’s right, http://www.sqwibble.com my new baby. It’s still being developed but basically it is an online arcade. Yes I know the internet is saturated with them but I had to have one of my own. I am using the arcadebuilder script with some major modifications to the css, I had to completely overhaul it to customize it to what I(my girlfriend) wanted. If you want to see why I modified it take a look at some of the sites in these Google results. Almost every site has the exact same layout, it seems people think because they have an arcade users will want to play. Thats not so, users can go totens of thousands ofother arcades online, you have to make yous stand out. How am I doing that? Like I said in order to stand out from the crowd I made sure to completely redo my style sheet, I changed absolutely everything and even edited the images, now I may not look as cool as those sites do, but after you see 4 or 5 of them do you even remember the names??? Next, I’m usin

Goal(s) Completed
2007-06-07 00:41:13
Hey everyone, I’m happy to report that in the last week or two I have completed not one, but two of my goals, these being. 3) Earn $100 in a single month. This was done without a problem with payperpost, I thank them for that and encourage you to sign up right away, this is really a great program. 4) Diversify, open 2-4 more websites and moneize those as well This is the main reason for my lack of posts, I have launched 2 more sites and am in the process of customizing layouts and targeting ads etc, I am doing my best to monetize them well and thus far it seems to be working. I will be posting about one of my two websites tomorrow so stay tuned. See you soon. Dylan Kingsberry
