London Renting Experience 2007-05-10 12:50:25 Are you planning to move to London? Really ? Than this post might be useful . GO AHEAD.
Myself have struggled to find a 1 bedroom apartment in this incredible city , and believe me is not that easy.
If you want to live in Zone 1-2 (centre London) , well than be prepared to pay a rent starting from 900 pound per month ALL EXCLUDED - bills , utilities and Council Taxes ( they could start from 45 pounds to 110 pounds per month ) -
You will pay this much and don’t expect to have a nice flat , normally what you get is a basement apartment in a not very popular area, not close to transportation , with carpeted floors ( blah@! ) , and probably in a ex-council building ( that looks LIKE A NEWYORK BRONX BUILDING) , the smallest bathroom you have ever seen , and a fantastic basic basic basic small kitchen.Look at what you can get for this price in central London —->
I FORGOT: If you try to find a flat with an agency they will charge around 90 pounds administration FEE Read more:Renting

Yes , that’s right , some tenants are using the public loo as a B&B in London …. don’t believe this? KEEP READING.
“Businesses opposite the loos in Stamford Hill , EAST LONDON , have spotted people living in the cubicles. One of the manager in the area said he had seen people carrying sleeping bags and rucksacks into the conveniences. They are all young guys , some whom are polish , who sleep there then come out early in the morning and go to work on building sites. They treat it’s their own home and go in there and get washed and changed.I can see why they do it because it must be the CHEAPEST ACCOMODATION IN HACKNEY, FOR JUST 20P A NIGHT YOU GET A ROOM WITH FULLY-FITTED BATHROOM. Fights had broken out over who would sleep in the bigger disabled toilet and the cleaners often had to kick out illegal lodgers.
SIMPLY SPEECHLESS…..

LONDON : Property Top Prices 2007-05-09 13:32:26 “London has overtaken Monaco as the playground of the rich and famous. It now has the most expensives houses in the world, thanks to an influx of foreign billionaires and bumper City bonuses.
It has made homes in Belgravia and Knightbridge even more expensive than those in Monaco, wich with its harbour and casinos was long considered the top destination for the world’s wealthy.Example: Steel tycoon Lakshimi Mittal owns an ambassadorial house in Kensington Palace Gardens thought to be worth as much as 100 MILLION POUNDS . Other billionaires who have floached to the capital include Chealsea FC owner Roman Abramovich ,brewing heiress Charlene de Carvalho - Heineken and property Tycoons David and Simon Reuben.
Upmarket estate agent Knight Frank and City Private Bank said the average cost of a prime central London property is now ₤ 2300 a square foot , compared with ₤2190 in Monaco, ₤1600 in the top ares of NewYork , ₤1230 in Hong Kong and ₤1100 in Tokyo

The Property Market 2007-05-08 10:26:42 All of us (unfortunately) have to deal with this market at least once in our life ; because comes the time when you don’t wish anything else than moving from your parents house and start to settle down with a nice girl .
The first important step is to find a property . Ok , so you start thinking how you want it to be:
A - Close to the Sea
B - In a Warm Place
C - Spacious and full of Light
D - Brand New
E- In a cool location
And last but most important INEXPENSIVE.
Well here comes a thing : FORGET IT ( Unless you are a Millionaire or have received money from someone.)
Unfortunately for the 95% percent of us (including me  ) won’t be that easy.

Property Pack Scheme Delayed 2007-05-30 09:41:41 The controversial Home Information Packs are being delayed with ministers putting their plan into cold storage until August.
The scheme - designed to acquaint homebuyers with a property’s hidden characteristics - had been due to come into effect next week.
But a shortage of those qualified to carry out the necessary home assessments for the packs (HIPs) has forced a rethink.
The postponement follows pressure from opposition MPs and a legal challenge mounted by the Royal Institution Of Chartered Surveyors.
Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly told the Commons she had put back the launch date for the mandatory sellers’ packs by two months to August 1.
Miss Kelly also revealed that HIPs, as they are known, would be brought in on a phased basis.
Only those sales involving four-bedroom and larger properties would require HIPs from the August 1 starting date, she told MPs.
Smaller properties would be brought into the scheme as and when accredited assessors were trained, Miss Kelly s Read more:Scheme
