DIY that uses some DC and stepper motors from an old HP printer and uses Parallax’s new 32bit processor as the brain. Brilliant!
This could be great to low budget project requiring color sorting.
Once the Sensor was figured out I started to build everything. Most of the parts including the DC motor and stepper motor were taken from an old HP 712c Printer I had laying around. The carriage system for the ink head was my main platform for the sorting process to occur on. I then had to design a way to control the flow of m&m’s, this was accomplished with the idea of using a system that is commonly found in gumball machines and a coin sorting machine. I then made a CAD drawing for it to be milled by my father using a CNC machine.

Watch as these worms make music, kinda cool~
Here we see an ensemble of worms creating sweet, sweet electroacoustic music on an electric touch contact feedback device (battery powered). No worms were harmed, despite the fact that they appear alarmed. They secrete albumen which is a sort of numbing thing (I think). Anyways, they were hastily removed and now live happily outside once again.
I believe that worms will be writing the pop hits of the future.

DIY - How to make a Soju Lamp 2007-05-09 06:18:52
Similar to the previous post, here’s Zedomax Soju Lamp. The great thing is that I didn’t even TRY to make it, it was just there from my dedication to drinking daily while blogging. (Yes, if you are over 18, we recommend this route. Make sure to have a companion while drinking. DWC - Drink with a companion) Although I drink beer mostly, sometimes I resort to Soju because it’s only 16% alcohol and let’s me drink less thus not getting a beer belly. Plus, soju does give you better ideas and let’s you be more creative. (Okay, kids, don’t follow my example until you are in your late 20s…)
Well, I haven’t really finished the Soju Lamp yet, I still have to finish the other side (I haven’t got to it yet, have been very busy with rice wine. Rice wine is very good too.)
One day, if I do finish my Soju Lamp, I will post a nice picture of it. (The above picture is actually a year and a half worth of work. Why I haven’t finished

Today, I’ve spotted the Spiderdog while trolling along my friend’s neighborhood. I invited him into my friend’s for a small talk.
Here’s the sideview of Spiderdog. Although I could not see how he could be so powerful over normal dogs, I admired and respected his pantings and high fives.
I did get the chance to see his eyes directly on. It’s his super-dog powers for being able to see in the dark.
From the sideview, you can not tell his eyes have super powers, but I got Spiderdog to confess about his superpowers by giving him a doggy treat:

I personally prefer Wordpress for making a website but you can use GooglePages to create some fun HTML-free webpages using their gadgets modules and click and drag interface. I stumbled upon this while checking out some of the users on Zedomax buddymap. Dr. Proctor had his home page on Googlepages, so I got curious and made my own Googlepage. The test results shows us that there is really no difference in the phone but the network. Cingular is definitely slow on even with HSDPA. I am just glad I don’t have to use the 8125 anymore, maybe I will offer it for freebie if anyone wants it.

Anyway, the test shows “zedomax.com” loading up. Sprint MotoQ loads much much faster. (Now I can comment back on the go 5 times faster!)

DIY APPLE HACK - Apple Bus Mouse garage door opener mod! 2007-05-03 22:25:33
Check out this cool Apple Bus Mouse
that’s been modded into a garage door opener. Brilliant!
So I got bored tonight and started going though my box-o-cables and came across an old Apple bus mouse I had gutted years ago. I always wanted to turn it into a garage door opener but never got around to it. Well, coincidently the garage door opener for my apartment parking is the perfect size to sit inside the mouse with room for a switch.
After some probing around the opener PCB, I found two easily accessible leads for the main switch, and used wirewrap to trace them out of the unit. Wirewrap around the terminals seemed easier than soldering them. With a $1.15 tube of Krazy Glue, a nylon washer and a PCB stand off, I got the switch just below the button so when screwed together it had about the same throw as the original mouse. I also tapped a lead from the LED on the board and ground to wire up a new LED where the old mouse cable went.
