Absolut, Sex, Ties & Buses 2006-11-20 23:12:00 I went off all sex this week. Hardly interested in the arousing capability of my written word or getting them there, I ploughed along assessing everything up to this point in time pretty much asking myself what on Earth I was trying to accomplish in this wee space or fragment of the cyber Cosmos. This assessment followed a routine week at work, which I spent noting down the frequency of smiles in the workplace. This made me think of one of my previous posts Smiling and Sex, and concluded that smiling is an essential ingredient of everyday life. Forget the new age self help books, and their step-pyramid like life changing recipes. So I decided I'd smile at the stuff that would, in a piecemeal fashion, drain my energy - namely the unsmiling army of workers that I see each day, whose computer monitors become their second friend, who hardly remove their eyes from the screen to utter a Good Morning. They're nice people, but work gets in there like a stubborn stain that won't go away, Read more:Absolut

She knuckled down, her fingers stabbing at each key with caffeine-injected vigor. The screen greeted her eyes, and a hoarse grunt escaped her lips. The deadline loomed. Cartec, a major account, needed its monthly account summary and she almost forgot her afternoon appointment. She could always reschedule The Salon, and wait until the next opening. It could stretch to three months, and it wouldn't do."How's it going Kath?"She looked up to see Julie, her vivacious colleague slide her ass onto her desk."Getting there"Julie's emerald eyes scanned the monitor. Kathy's mind rewound. Cats sometimes ate their offspring. She'd been ten, and hiked through the shrubs of her local park only to catch a glimpse of the local feral cat. Its blank green eyes focused on its offspring, and it was too horrific to recall but Julie's eyes took her to the moment she heard the soft moist crunch…"I'm nearly done. How can I help you?""Heard you're using the gift vouch
Sensuality by the Sea 2006-11-12 11:24:00
I've been lazy, and a little caught up in NanoWrimo to do a Male on Sunday post, and I spent the bulk of today at Bondi Beach viewing the Sculptures by the Sea Exhibition along with thousands of others.
There's nothing more revitalizing than a dose of Sodium Chloride. Then there's the sensuality of one's toes sinking through wet sand, and the cold burst of salt water as it bathes one's feet. The sound of water, each wave lapping against rock that is sculpted by the ages, and the idea of it lulling one to sleep.
The topmost "fantasy' or dream that dominates my thoughts is the idea of living by the sea. Now in Sydney, this idea is more of a fantasy due to the price tag especially in regard to Bondi, but other places further north or south are also creeping up price wise but even those aren't enough to end the fantasy.
Other pictures I've taken on the day are on my Flikr account.

Why Being Single is Oh So Good # ? 2006-11-11 04:52:00 Okay this will come across as totally beyond logic, however I predict that pretty soon a surgeon will be able to complete a heart transplant via SMS. Doctor Christian Baarnard will turn in his grave, and every single telecommunications carrier will have a marketing field day with slogans such as:"This is our revolutionary new network. One small step for man, one giant leap for networks worldwide"(I don't think NASA took out copyright on Neil Armstrong's famous quote, but they should have. Royalties from the usage of the quote or its variations could have funded many Mars probes.)Sometimes I think that they're sending gadgets to Mars so they can say, well lookie here! The latest thing to hit YouTube this week is Britney Spears's text message to Kev. The break up text message is the hallmark of the 21st Century. So I'm wondering how long it will be before Telecommunications companies adopt this type of incident and whack it in a commercial:"Tired of being taken for granted
Infidel 2006-11-08 16:23:00 Maybe we ought to have discussed God, but we didn't. It wasn't all about God, but as the days rolled God came into play at the behest of my little group. You see there was his God, and there was my God. It was all carefully categorized, like it tends to be today, even though all religious paths lead to one supreme force or entity. I'm undecided. Some prefer to personalize their God, or fashion the concept into some type of patriarchal figure. The good father or the supreme masculine being. I've never truly cared about the gender. All I know is that I'd escape many sticky situations, and on my more reflective moments I'd attribute each escape to the chaotic nature of events, and their odd sense of order which could very well be God. Why not?
It's said that God lurks everywhere, so I'm guessing that a train carriage is no exception. The train rushed past each station, and I noticed the quiet male to my left. He looked, I blinked and the silent conversation between our
It's Nano Time 2006-11-01 14:33:00 NanoWrimo has begun, and sure I've been here and there about it, so I'm backtracking on research. What I like about NanoWrimo is that it concentrates on one thing, and one thing only for one entire month. Once a person begins, they either reach the end, or they don't. Either way, the primary focus is the writing, and getting onself in that headspace to continually work on a project of 50 000 words (or more). The other thing that's good about this cause is that proceeds of donations go toward building libraries in other countries (that may be running low on resources to build libraries).
Anyhow, for those interested in NanoWrimo, visit the site for more info. If you've ever wanted to unleash the writer within, it's a good time to do it.
I'll be hanging out here for 90% of this month and mainly browsing other blogs. Hopefully my nano blog won't be 'flagged' by uber sensitive people out there as being 'offensive' (in some way) like my 2005 Nano project. If people get offended
Janus Smile 2006-10-30 11:27:00 This may be more Halloweenie, I don't know. I treated it as a fun, but macabre (with subtle, controversial undercurrents), story. A quick scare.

She'd worn the headscarf ever since she could remember, specifically since her head began to ache, and her upset mother decided to obscure the possible cause. The voices then followed, usually at the dead of night. It was a sweet child-like voice, not unlike hers, that danced against her ear. She thought it a dream, until she started conversing with it.Shielded from ordinary schools, her parents took turns home schooling her. She topped her matriculation examinations, thanks to her friend. During the light of day, her friend slept. Her parents assumed that it was another aberration, with the exception of it being non-existent in any of the illustrious med
Male on Sunday - 13 2006-10-29 02:53:00 "A true novelist cannot but live the reality of his own times, and in doing so become aware of his responsibilities. He thus attempts to help his fellow men to face up to and solve the pressing problems of his day to greatest possible extent. In as far as a contemporary work of literature reflects the times in which we live, it is necessarily one of the most subtle and effective forms of action. Or rather it itself can become the seed of action. Provided that a novelist is aware of his mission, he tries to push reality to adopt the form he judges to be most fitting for man. In other more balanced, self-confident times, beauty could suffice to fulfill the author's ideal. The writer of today, if he is truly alive, is someone who suffers and worries at the sight of reality. He is led to co-operate with all the still surviving powers of light to advance man's burdensome destiny a little. The modern writer, if he is true to his mission, is a fighter" - Nikos Kazantzakis

Porn & Its Effect on Our Sex Lives 2006-10-28 04:27:00 I recall reading two views on pornography by two feminists. Both disagreed, and I shook my head in confusion thinking, "aren't you both meant to agree. You're both in the same camp?' Needless to say, I found it entertaining, but confusing because any term that ends in "ISM' is supposed to promote a cohesive view that promotes the philosophy in question. For example: Communism - Communists - All agree on the specific foundations put forth by Marx and Engel Socialism - Socialists - All agree on the philosophy of Communism, and may also dip into the Marx/Engel view.Terrorism - Terrorists - No particularly philosophy per se, but works on Shock and Awe tactics that are specifically aimed at instilling fear and terrifying people as a whole.Feminism - Feminists - Is like the 'Chocolate Box' in Forrest Gump. All are meant to agree, but more often than not they don't agree (which is probably why many people sigh when they hear the word 'feminist') which pretty much render Com Read more:Lives
