This bizarre spectator sport - reportedly from Kasimkota in Andhra Pradesh - has been condemned by animal rights protesters after footage appeared on the internet.
They’ve warned that a cobra’s fangs grow back quickly, putting the youngsters in mortal danger.
Several snake charmers die each year while handling the animals.

It's A Close Race For Last Place… 2007-05-12 00:01:00 WASHINGTON (AP) - People think the Democratic-led Congress is doing just as dreary a job as President Bush, following four months of bitter political standoffs that have seen little progress on Iraq and a host of domestic issues.
The survey found only 35 percent approve of how Congress is handling its job, down 5 percentage points in a month. That gives lawmakers the same bleak approval rating as Bush, who has been mired at about that level since last fall, including his dip to a record low for the AP-Ipsos poll of 32 percent last January.

All those campaign promises Ms. Nancy and her other Dem-padres promoted throughout the elections that placed them in power are NOWHERE to be found. In fact, quite the opposite is true. I thought the Dems were going to come in and clean house and show the American people why they are better leaders than the Republicans. Where are all those promises now?
Keep up the good work, 2008 is counting on it!

Illegally Blonde… 2007-05-11 01:00:52 This was too good not to share:

The reality show The Simple Life really doesn’t float on much. It follows a couple of rich girls around while they amusingly adopt children, only to throw said children back into the population once they’ve grown a taste for human flesh.
Well, we’re not sure about that actually. We’ve never seen the show, but we have seen over three commercials for it, making us far greater programme-experts than most other people. And our expertise tells us this show should take advantage of Paris Hilton’s current predicament, if they do, season six could be the best reality show ever.
Because Paris Hilton is going to jail for 45 days. That’s right - the judge showed no preferential treatment and ordered the teary-eyed star to all that confinement. With any ounce of luck, episode one will show her sloppily embroidering a cursive ‘P. H.’ onto her orange jumpsuit while explain Read more:Blonde
Double Standard Revealed Again… 2007-05-10 23:51:03 In what may be his strongest public statements against the Bush administration, presidential candidate Mitt Romney says his fellow Republicans in the Bush White House made mistakes in Iraq that the country is still paying for. Romney also deplores the polygamy his ancestors practiced in the 19th Century in a 60 MINUTES interview with Mike Wallace to be broadcast Sunday, May 13 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. “I think the administration made a number of errors,” he tells Wallace. “I don’t think we were adequately prepared for what occurred. I don’t think we did enough planning. I don’t think we considered the various downsides and risks,” says Romney. He says President Bush isn’t the only one to blame. “He’s the person where the buck stops, but it goes through the secretary of defense and the planning agencies, the Department of State — it’s the whole administration,” Romney says. “T Read more:Standard

Getting More of What He Deserves… 2007-05-10 19:00:33 OJ Simpson was seen mingling with fashionable ladies and greeting well wishers at the Kentucky Derby last weekend. But OJ wasn’t welcome everywhere in Louisville.A restaurant owner refused to serve Simpson and ordered him out of his upscale steakhouse, Jeff Ruby’s.
Owner Jeff Ruby told INSIDE EDITION the sight of Simpson getting this kind of welcome in his restaurant turned his stomach.
“I asked him to leave and we immediately seated Michael Jordan at his table,” Ruby said.
Ruby said the steakhouse was crowded with diners who gave him a standing ovation for telling Simpson and his party of 12 to leave. “By the morning I had emails from across the country commending me for the convictions I had for doing the right thing,” Ruby said.
Simpson was sensationally found not guilty of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994. He was later found civilly liable.
Ironically, Simpson used to be a Derby day regular at Jeff Ruby’s and a pictur
A Spark of Hope for the French… 2007-05-10 07:35:13 Right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy’s clear presidential election win paved the way Monday for radical reforms to kickstart France’s sluggish economy, tackle simmering social discontent and chart a new foreign policy course. “The French
people have chosen to break with the ideas, the habits and the actions of the past,” Sarkozy said in a victory speech following his emphatic triumph over Socialist Segolene Royal. The former interior minister with a tough line on immigration campaigned on a pledge to change France to face the realities of the 21st century and get the country back to work — a platform viewed with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation.French newspapers of the left and right agreed Monday that Sarkozy — often attacked as a divisive figure — had won a clear mandate for reform.
“With the strong legitimacy his indisputable electoral performance gives him, the new president of the Republic can now begin his great transfor
Decapitation Survivor True Miracle… 2007-05-14 16:00:39 Download Video
DENVER, Colo. — Miracles do happen. That’s what doctors said about 30-year-old Shannon Malloy. A car crash in Nebraska on Jan. 25 threw Malloy up against the vehicle’s dashboard. In the process, her skull became separated from her spine. The clinical term for her condition is called internal decapitation.”I remember the impact and then I had no control over my head,” said Malloy. “I wasn’t focused so much on the pain. I just kept thinking, ‘I have to stay alive.’”

Farmers Branch Approves Illegal Immigrant Measure… 2007-05-13 22:48:03 HOUSTON (Reuters) - Voters in the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch
have approved an ordinance aimed at preventing landlords from renting housing to illegal immigrants.
The measure, which supporters said would help the local economy by pushing out illegal immigrants, passed on Saturday by a vote of 4,058-1,941 in the Texas city of 28,500 people.
It requires landlords to verify that would-be renters are in the United States legally before leasing housing to them.
The Farmers Branch City Council passed the ordinance last year, but opponents forced an election on it.
Opponents of the Farmers Branch ordinance filed earlier lawsuits against the city, and said after the vote they would continue fighting it in the courts. Their argument, in part, is that immigration laws are a federal, not local, matter.
“The silent majority in Farmers Branch agrees that this illegal ordinance will drain the community of resources and ultimately hurt the reputation of the city. We will act quickly to pr Read more:Immigrant
