"Perian is a swiss-army knife for Quicktime" Perian supports many movie formats beyond the typical Quicktime .mov files in Quicktime Player. Perian will allow me to watch Divx, XviD, FLV, AVI and more right in Quicktime Player. It's easy and it's free, go and do it.


Firewire Target Disk Mode

In the catastrophic event of a Hard Drive failure or OS X crashes, I boot up my Mac in Target Disk Mode. If I want to Migrate my data from one Mac to another, I need to use this method. Sometimes I even share files over my firewire cable with friends. If I have an older G3 that does not have a DVD drive, I can use Target Disk Mode to install Tiger OS X 10.4.

Anyone else who uses Gmail on a Mac is probably annoyed by one aspect of it. Whenever I click on an email on a website, Mail tries to open and makes a blank email composition for me to write. There are some fixes for this problem out there if I use Firefox. Mail is an elegant application, isn't it? I can hook up my Gmail address to Mail, but I lose half the functionality that makes Gmail so brilliant! Gmail and Mac weren't friends until now...
