2007-04-21 06:03:10
Sports minister Richard Caborn has given his seal of approval to plans to develop Northamptonshire’s Silverstone track and safeguard its future on the Formula One circuit. Silverstone has a contract with the sports governing body, the FIA, to host F1 until 2009, but problems with public access to the track, a lack of investment and a growing number of potential successors in the Far East and Asia have made a renewal of that deal increasingly uncertain. The Daily Mail’s Jon McEvoy asked the World Champion to comment on claims that Ron Dennis had had to speak to the Spaniard, and put his arm around him in a gesture of support, because he felt resentment at the spotlight falling on teammate Lewis Hamilton. 2007-05-11 10:02:54
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — No group of drivers in the IndyCar Series is more close-knit than the five teammates at Andretti Green Racing, and a lot of the credit for that goes to Tony Kanaan. At 32, Kanaan doesn’t really feel like a grizzled veteran, but the 2004 series champion is not only racing for wins and another title, he is playing the role of mentor to 20-year-old Marco Andretti and 25-year-old Danica Patrick, a newcomer to the team. more…

Rossiter joins Super Aguri
2007-05-15 13:42:48
Honda has switched James Rossiter to the Super Aguri F1 team from his current position as official test driver with Honda Racing F1. This might suggest that there has been a settlement between Super Aguri and Giedo Van der Garde, who is under contract to be the team’s “reserve and test driver” but wants to join Spyker F1, but the reality is that the team needs someone to do the testing work and cannot call on van der Garde’s services because of the ongoing dispute. At the same time Honda F1 has more…

F1: Theissen unhappy with testing rules
2007-05-15 11:46:44
When it was announced that in 2007 teams would no longer be able to use three drivers in Friday practice sessions, it was clear that this would have an impact on up and coming drivers, robbing them not only of an opportunity to gain F1 knowledge, but also the chance to strut their stuff in front of the assembled team bosses. Then came the change to the testing rules, which stated that teams could only use one car, and that mileage would be restricted. As predicted, this has come as more…
