Southeast Asia Travels to Cameron Highlands, Malaysia 2007-05-22 20:23:00 CAMERON Highlands
, with all its poetic charm of rolling greens and English country aura, may be too ordinary for the jaded traveller. Plus, with the plethora of butterfly gardens and strawberry farms, the highlands have become too kid-oriented. What can adults hope to find that’s entertaining? The recent opening of Cameron
Highlands Resort seemed as good as any catalyst to re-inspect the highlands. Intrigued by its “Trails, Tales and Tradition” tagline, it was only apt to reexamine the things that would make the heart fall in love again with this very English countryside.Where To GoThe trail perhaps is best started at BOH plantation’s Sungai Palas Tea Centre. Built over a hilltop that offers a sweeping view of the tea estate and its surroundings, it offers just the right nostalgia to begin your quest into the colonial culture of tea and scones in the afternoons. As you crack open a crusty scone, you can view the tea pickers down in the valley as they continue their rich traditio Read more:Southeast

Southeast Asia Travels To Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort, Kota Kinabalu 2007-06-06 00:43:00 Hi. Again, I am so fascinated by this hotel when I saw my brother's honeymoon pictures. A colleague of mine stayed at this hotel too on her visit to Sabah. She also recommended this hotel to me. Just in case you are not familiar where Kota Kinabalu is, it is the capital of Sabah, a state in Malaysia.Well, since I know people enjoy looking at pictures as much as I do, please enjoy yourself looking at the pictures below. Erm.. I've tried asking for few personal pictures from my brother, but I guessed he's too shy for 'exposing' himself to the public. So I guess, I'd just settle from the hotel's gallery pictures then.Oh, before that, here are some facts about the hotel. Located 10 minutes from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, just a 2 1/2-hour flight from Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort
is a tranquil retreat offering 495 recently renovated rooms and suites, seven restaurants and bars, and a wealth of enjoyable recreational opportunities Read more:Southeast

Kota Kinabalu Holiday Countdown 2007-08-23 09:19:00 Hi All.Just a quick update to tell all of you how excited I am. I'll be going to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia for our coming anniversary. It's our second anniversary. We are treating this holiday as our honeymoon trip. We have been saving for this vacation and best of all, some of it comes from blogging! We'll be going there on the second week of September. Right now, I am doing my research about Kota Kinabalu. We will not be there long since I am currently engaged with a very important project. However, both of us thought that it's just the best length of time to spend there since we wanted to spoil ourselves at two 5 star hotels there. Can't afford to be there too long though. Erm.. Maybe massage and spa, perhaps. So, till then, I hope that I'll be able to update this blog not long from today. I just can't wait to go shopping at the Philippine market and buy some nice pearls and crystals for myself and my family. See ya'. Read more:Holiday

Kota Kinabalu Holiday Countdown Part 2 2007-08-29 04:55:00 Over the weekend, we have made payment via our travel agency on bookings of the hotels I have mentioned before. We spent some moments discussing, and we have decided to stay at Nexus Karambunai Resort located in Tuaran (just a little bit outside of Kota Kinabalu) and Le Meridian which is in the heart of Kota Kinabalu.Though at first I have read some bad reviews on the internet, but after talking to my some of my friends who have actually stayed there and had marvelous time, both of us told ourselves, "Why not? Let's see how good this so called 5 star hotel can offer us". (Deep down, I both prayed that our friends were right about everything - they told us the hotel is just perfect for holiday - the view, the room, the food, et cetera). Of course, all except for the price, compared to other hotels! So here's some pictures I have managed to get from the official web site of Nexus Resort Karambunai (it's also ideal for people who loves golfing). Hopefully it's as nice as the pictures Read more:Holiday

Awesome Holiday At Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Part 2) 2007-09-19 23:49:00 So here's the report for our trip to Kota Kinabalu (Part 2).We stayed at Le Meridian, Kota Kinabalu. The hotel faces the sea so we were lucky to watch the sunset from from our room. It's very convenient to stay at this hotel since Meridian is situated right across the Philippine market where you get to purchase pearls and crystals at very cheap (err..not so if you choose the bulky ones..Lol) prices. While at night time, you get to go to the night market and taste local food and buy other stuff.Staying at Meridian also means easy access to seafood (in fact various types of food) as the seafood restaurants are also situated just around the corner. However, we picked to walk just approximately 200 meters from the hotel to enjoy delicious seafood by the sea at a very cheap price. When I say it's cheap, IT IS CHEAP..!! Ermm..I wonder what was our cholesterol reading when we finally finished with our dinner.Anyway, a piece of advice when booking the room hotel, try to book the room that Read more:Holiday
