This is simply a part of a truss. I like the old style of construction: no concrete, no steel and no glass. Only good old wood.
Dies ist einfach nur ein Teil eines Dachstuhls. Mir gefaellt der alte Baustiel: kein Beton, kein Stahl und kein Glas. Einfach nur gutes altes Holz.

This picture shows a cutout of an iron-pillar on the beach of Denia/Spain. I like the color of rust except if some parts of my car get this color.

Although the format of this picture is not really suitable for a blog I like to share it with you. Sometimes I like to play with my wide-angle-lens and unusual perspectives to change reality in my photos. This dune is very small in real but shot with a wide-angle-lens it looks very large and high.
Obwohl das Format dieses Bildes nicht wirklich gut fuer einen Blog geeignet ist stelle ich es hier online. Manchmal veraendere ich mittels meinem Weitwinkelobjektiv und ungewoehnlichen Perspektiven bewusst die Wirklichkeit in meinen Bildern. Diese Sandduene ist eigentlich sehr klein, aber mit einem Weitwinkelobjektiv aufgenommen wirkt sie sehr gross und maechtig.

This seagull was standing on a wall of the Mirador del castillo in Benidorm / Spain. There were many people at this place so I had to act quickly. I took this shot when funny old signoras came and scared the gull away.

I think it's time for another picture of a kiteboarder. Everytime I see such a photo I get a strong desire to learn kiteboarding. Maybe I will attend a course in Spain next time :-)
Ich denke es ist Zeit fuer ein weiteres Bild eines Kiteboarders. Immer wenn ich ein solches Foto sehe bekomme ich ein starkes Verlangen selbst die Kunst des Kiteboardens zu erlernen. Vielleicht werde ich ja im Sommer an einem Kurs in Spanien teilnehmen :-)

This picture shows mainly palm fronds and clouds. I took this picture with an infrared filter attached to my lens and converted it to black&white afterwords. I plan to do some more infrared-experiments soon.

Firemen || Feuerwehrmaenner 2007-08-01 15:37:00
There was a fire near our apartment last week. It took the firemen some hours to get the fire under control. In addition to the fire engines they used two helicopers and an airplane to kill the flames. The flames even set fire to two of our palms. A neighbour was able to rescue our beloved palms.
Letzte Woche war ein grosses Feuer in der Naehe unserer Wohnung. Es dauerte einige Stunden, bis die Feuerwehrmaenner das Feuer unter Kontrolle brachten. Neben Feuerwehrautos wurden auch zwei Hubschrauber und ein Flugzeug eingesetzt. Die Flammen setzten sogar zwei unserer Palmen in Brand. Ein Nachbar konnte sie jedoch gleich loeschen.

I shot this portrait of my neighbour Alfons at our small street festival and decided to name it "Thinking Man". It took a long time and many beer to get the admission to publish the picture in the internet :-) We had a lot of fun at the party. More pictures will follow.
Ich machte dieses Portrait meines Nachbarn Alfons bei unserem kleinen Strassenfest und nenne es "Nachdenklicher Mann". Es kostete viel Ueberredungskunst und einige Biere um Alfons davon zu ueberzeugen das Bild im Internet veroeffentlichen zu duerfen :-) Wir hatten eine menge Spass auf dem Fest. Mehr Bilder folgen.
Helicopter with bag full of water || Hubschrauber mit Wassersack 2007-08-06 01:05:00
As mentioned in an earlier post there was a fire near our appartment. I took the opportunity to shot some action pictures. This picture shows a helicopter with a bag full of water
attached to it. Besides many fire engines there were two helicopters and an airplane to slake the fire. Our appartment was not burned down. Thanks to the firemen. They did a really great job!
Wie in einem frueheren Post erwaehnt, war in der Naehe unserer Wohnung ein Brand. Ich nutzte die Gelegenheit um ein paar Action-Bilder zu schiessen. Dieses Bild zeigt einen Hubschrauber mit einem Wassersack. Neben vielen Feuerwehrautos waren zwei Hubschrauber und ein Flugzeug im Einsatz um den Brand zu loeschen. Unsere Wohnung ist nicht niedergebrannt. Vielen Dank den Feuerwehrleuten. Sie haben wirklich gute Arbeit geleistet!
