Archie Mendoza: A Talented Graphic Artist
2007-07-11 22:36:56
The photo in this entry is The Rocketing Flower. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Archie Mendoza is a wonderful graphic artist with amazing skills in producing art in Microsoft Paint. I believe very few artists out there have the ability Archie does. He's an expert, creating very detailed artwork of cartoons, lettering, and various images. All of his artwork is original and created a pixel at a time. He has spent years developing his skills. Some of his work includes favicons, banners, and cartoon images. You may view pieces made by him over at his MySpace profile. You can also commission work by him at a decent price. He also enjoys creating works from reference. Here are some samples of his work, a few of his favicons: Don't pass up an opportunity to give your blog or site a makeover with Archie's graphic art. You can have custom designs and receive them very quickly. Or simply admire his work and let him know how much you like it. You can email him at.

My Funny Voice Recording
2007-07-17 01:32:10
The photo in this entry is Daisy Daze. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I recently remembered that I have an audio file on my hard drive which is a recording of a funny voice I used to do. Two days ago marked the first anniversary of this recording. To kind of celebrate the occasion, I'm finally sharing it with the world. I don't do recordings like this anymore, although I wish I did. Lately I have not quite had the inspiration to. Since the recording is a .wav file, you have to download it, its a very short recording though. A few people I know think its pretty cute. If you can figure out where this statement is from, I'd be quite impressed. Here's a hint, it is from a cartoon. Happy guessing. :D Technorati: voice recording, personal, voice, audio, audio file, funny voice, voice clip, jkeagan, lyndawalldezI encourage comments on my writings. Join the Open Blogroll
2007-07-15 23:23:26
The photo in this entry is Hidden Within. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I have come across many blogrolls that are focused on specifics such as gender, beliefs, and interests. They are very popular and useful, but I think there should be an open blogroll in which anyone who has a blog can join and still get a sense of community. So I have created the Open Blogroll . As long as you have a blog, no matter what kind, you can join. :D This blogroll can also be used as a viral linking tool to raise your blog rank. Each blog in the blogroll links to you, provided that the blogroll is displayed on their blog. Use this code to display the Open Blogroll on your blog: The Open Blogroll Once the blogroll is displayed on your blog, use the form at the bottom of my right sidebar to send your request to join. When I confirm that the blogroll is properly displayed on your blog, you will be promptly added. Technorati: open blogroll, join blogroll, join a blogroll, blogrolls,...

Recent Changes to My Blog
2007-07-14 23:37:02
The photo in this entry is Peculiarity. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I recently gave my blog a major makeover. I thought it needed to be more inviting and personal, so I got a new layout to portray that. New features include an auto-linking tool, a music playlist, a search box, a contest section, local data, a forum for my blog, a cool new guestbook, a chat room, and a section with links to some of my features on the net. Since I got this new layout, installing code into my blog is a lot simpler. I only have to consider one widget at a time instead of an entire sidebar. Although initial loading is rather slow, finishing up is smooth. I still have some tweaking to do to make the appearance of my blog more appealing. I miss my old header, I'm sure others do too, so I'm figuring out a way to bring it back. With this new layout I can show everything I had hiding under those old hide/show links. My blog is more organized as well with more opportunities for everyone to b

Song of the Week: Speed of Sound by Coldplay
2007-07-20 23:24:17
The photo in this entry is Reminiscent. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. Coldplay has become a tremendous band in the new millennium that can be described as being up there with Depeche Mode and U2. Chris Martin as a vocalist is powerful in his messages and feeling through his singing. This song is one of the best tracks that I have ever heard by Coldplay. I enjoy nearly every track of theirs, this one being in the top 5. To this day I do not understand the message of this song, or what it's overall meaning is. But it is all the more pleasant anyway. What I enjoy most about this song is the sense it gives me of a great struggle that is overwhelmingly overcome through sheer will power. The vocals are quite striking, I like singing along whenever I can. This songs also seems to have a sense of wonder that not many do. It leaves you empowered and uplifted with its rock sound mixed with some electronica. Sometimes I listen to this song when I am feeling under the weather..

How I Explain My Aquarian Ways
2007-07-22 18:56:01
The photo in this entry is Setting Sun. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I recently read a section in a book my sister owns that talks about the characteristics of people that were born within a certain date range. January 20/21 to January 30 to be exact. I was born January 27th, which makes me an Aquarius. The following is from the book I read which I found rather interesting. Meet Ms. Spacewoman for this is a decanate of equality who in true Star Trek fashion goes where no one else will. They are possessed by the spirit of adventure and a desire to discover the unknown. They have foresight and vision and incredible intuition, with a piercing perception about people and life. But though they possess altruism and can be humanitarian to a Mother Theresa degree their feelings and emotions are much more exclusive and have to be earned by loved ones around them. They tend to hurt the ones they love whilst giving their all to complete strangers - you either love 'em or hate.

My Work in the First Week of Drawing Class
2007-07-22 00:34:51
The photo in this entry is Torn Up Inside. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I began my art class this last Monday, the last day of the first week was on Thursday. So far I have enjoyed going to class, although the curriculum is not as interesting as I thought it would be. The teacher is not big on lecturing either, most of the time you just have to figure things out on your own. I'd be pretty lost if I didn't already know how to do certain things in drawing. Its evident that's how the newbies feel. Here are the thumbnails of the drawings I have made so far with descriptions along with them. They are all freehand with the exception of Wednesday's drawings. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the photo. I apologize for the picture quality, I did not have much time to photograph these pieces. Monday We began with drawing our hand on regular drawing paper. I forgot to bring my drawing pencil, so I settled with using a pen I had. The drawing looks funny because I moved

Song of the Week: Do You Know by Enrique Iglesias
2007-07-27 23:03:07
The photo in this entry is Speckled Clovers. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. This week I'm featuring one of the newest tracks by Enrique Iglesias . When I first heard this song I was watching the music video and how it was filmed. I was compelled by the lyrics, they are raw and powerful. I relate to this song because I have felt this way before, and I have been in bad relationships. The way Enrique sings this song gives you the sense of despair that the lyrics express. Its as if him singing this song is his last resort to venting his pain. Do You Know has a humbling message, which can either make you think about what you are going through or what you are doing to someone. My Struggle to Be a True Christian
2007-07-27 19:37:38
The photo in this entry is Golden Moon. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I first received the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues when I was 14, months later I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Yet since then, I have been on a major roller coaster of beliefs. Before becoming a Christian I was involved in witchcraft since the age of 9. This is the first time I let that knowledge out. At such a young age, I had no idea what I was doing was witchcraft until years later. The foundation of my beliefs was everything against God. I remember not wanting to have anything to do with God or churches when I was really young, barely in elementary school. I would hate it when my mom took me to the Catholic church on Sundays. I would even say crazy things against God. When I was 14, all it took was an instant message conversation to change my outlook. I was delving deeper into witchcraft at the time and becoming more aware of that world. I was on the house computer and an instant.

Handmade Journals by Michael Kozak

The photo in this entry is Cockatiel Waking. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I met Michael Kozak through 1001 Journals . I signed up for his Journal #1704. When it came to receiving it I noticed that the back had stamps advertising "2nd Chance Rebound Journals". I inquired about it and thought it was a nice idea, so I decided to buy one. I was very pleased with the quality of his Journal #1704 and wanted one similar. When I received the journal I requested, I was throughly pleased with it. Here is Journal #1704 when I had it in my possession. Here is my new journal I got a few days ago. Michael can customize your journal to your liking. I asked that it have plain pages for sketching and a pink and purple theme. I was pleasantly surprised by the Christian cross pattern on the front and back of my journal. What I love about the journals Michael makes is the unique aspect they have. Each journal is as different as you and I. They are made with high quality materials,...

Thanks for my camera though, it helped me discover my talent for photography. Franco: I finally have closure. Forgive me for breaking my promise, I tried so hard. I hope you have finally reached "home". David C.: Not even time can repair what you damaged. You're better off forgetting I ever existed, so leave me alone. The photo in this entry is Newbie. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I recently signed up for Good Mail, a snail mail project started by Annie. I was intrigued by the concept of community portrayed by the Good Mail participants and noted how successful that concept has made the project. Good Mail promotes thoughtfulness and in turn keeps snail mail alive. I have begun my own list of Good Mail Gal members in hopes that I could carry on the tradition of sending and receiving mail goodies within the group. There really aren't any rules, so you're pretty much free to send as little or as much mail to any amount of members. I may only keep the list limited to 50 people, unless I come up with a system to comfortably allow more members and preserve functionality. Its never too late to be added to the Good Mail Gals list, which is on a private page that is password protected for members only. The first Good Mail package I received was from Jennie. I got it a few days ago, and

Tagged for the Middle Name Meme

The photo in this entry is Sunset Rays. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. I was recently tagged by Jennie for this one. Rules 1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts. 2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. 3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts. 4. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog. Since I don't have a middle name I'm going to pretend it is Jean. :) Jubilant when I want to be Eccentric to the fullest Always working on something Never gives up I used to do stuff like this in school, very thought-provoking. Song of the Week: Imagine by John Lennon
2007-08-03 23:45:59
The photo in this entry is Warm Sunset. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. This week I'm featuring a song that is a favorite of many, by the legendary artist John Lennon . Although I don't agree with the message of this song, I absolutely love the melodies and vocals. John Lennon 's voice is one of my favorites next to Imogen Heap's, Bono's, and Chris Martin's. What I enjoy about John Lennon's singing in this song is that it has a modest characteristic that I admire. This song is special to me because it reminds me of a time in my life when I was beginning to explore the world and learn about who I am. The person that introduced me to this song was someone very dear to me. So every time I hear it, it reminds me of them. I am featuring this song in honor of my old friend, who had a birthday recently. I don't listen to this song often, just so the regard I have for it remains. If I hear it too much I'll likely get tired of it. But you're welcome to listen to it as mu

Poems About Bad Relationships

The photo in this entry is Strings of Adornment. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. These are some recent poems I wrote during a sleepless night of constant tears. Though you may not understand these poems, they are my way of venting some of the deepest pain I have. I don't always feel this way, but when I do, I release it in rhyming lines like these. It's one of the ways I show how tough this little cookie is. Although sometimes I do crumble. These poems are not about one person in particular, but many. I also describe different occasions instead of just one. Painful Memories Every tear I shed I bow my head In utter pain I cry Feeling like I want to die My heart bears another crack When your words attack With every drop that falls I hear your calls I break Unable to take Each time I weep I try to keep Myself from remembering Everything Lone Soldier Every battle fought alone Taking all the punches blown No one by my side Shattering all my pride A helping hand has yet

How Lack of Good Time Management Affects Me
2007-08-07 13:20:16
The photo in this entry is Leopard Ray. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez. In recent days I have been feeling pretty burned out. There are many demands I must attend to every single day, and there is never a dull moment for me. Although in the past few weeks, I have experienced the major effects of bad time management. My health having taken the greatest toll. After the first week of art class I missed my first day of the following week because I urgently needed to see a doctor. The next day I was so tired that I overslept, thus missing another day of class. Which was already one day too many, so I could not continue attending. Then I forgot to call back a government agency about an important appointment. It could mean big trouble for me, but I have yet to see. I have a small planner and most recently bought a whiteboard calendar, yet am still unable to organize my life. I am not a procrastinator, so when I miss things like this it makes me look like I am one. For... Nee
