BMW CS Concept

Sometimes you just have to say WOW. And that was our first reaction when we saw BMW’s latest project, the BMW CS Concept . Presented at the Shanghai Auto Show, this will probably be the next 8 series BMW, which will compete the Mercedes CLS and the upcoming Porsche Panamera, in the sporty 4 doors coupe class. Measuring at 5.1 m in length, the high-end car features 21 inch wheels, giving the concept an aggressive look.Apparently, BMW will fit the production car with a 6.0L V12 engine derived from the V10 currently found in the M5 and M6. No official info from BMW so far, but we’ll let you know when there is. (more…)

Audi Cross Coupe Quattro Concept

It seems like the crossover market looks very attractive to car companies, because we’ve seen lots of concepts lately. Presented at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Audi Cross Coupe Quattro is a very interesting concept, with it’s sporty and elegant look. The four-seater car sports 20 inch wheels, a fabric folding roof and a transversely positioned 4-cylinder 2.0-litre TDI engine under the hood, engine which produces 204 bhp. Also, for the first time, Audi presents a single component lighting system that employs LED technology for both headlights and cornering lights. Almost sure this concept will be the start point for the upcoming Audi Q5 which we expect to see in the autumn. (more…)

Buick Enclave Pricing For Canada

Buick announced this week the Canada pricing for it’s luxury crossover, the Buick Enclave, which will be available this summer. It will start from $40,895 for front-wheel drive CX models and $43,895 for all-wheel-drive CX models. The front-wheel-drive CXL begins at $48,295, while the all-wheel-drive version starts at $51,295. The Buick Enclave will come equipped with a 275 hp 3.6L V-6 dual-overhead camshaft engine, which, together with Buick’s six-speed automatic transmission, will offer excellent fuel economy and great handling. Beckam’s Stolen BMW X5 Shows Up In Macedonia

Here’s some interesting news. Last year David Beckham’s armored BMW X5 was stolen from Spain capital, Madrid. Through some strange coincidence, the bodyguard who took care of the car “forgot” to start the tracking program which monitors the car and prevents thefts like this. Strange for someone who is probably paid very good for this job. The soccer superstar bought this car after a kidnap attempt made on his wife, Victoria. The $180,000 car was seized by the Macedonia n police after two guys, apparently from the Bulgarian mafia, were caught at the Greece border. The Macedonian interior minister, who currently uses the car, said that she will gladly return the car to the soccer star if it turns out its his car. No reaction so far from Beckham, who now lives in the US, after signing a whooping $250 million five-year contract with LA Galaxy. (more…)

Looking like TT and R8’s son from the future, this concept car impresses with its curved design, creating a continuous flow from front until the back of the car. Dodge Caliber by Startech

Announced last year, Startech presented a modified version of the Dodge Caliber, which now is more aggressive and more powerful. The 2.0 common-rail diesel engine got a 40hp upgrade, from 140 to 180hp and now the Caliber goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds (9.3 for the regular version). The body kit include custom-tailored Startech lift-gate attachment, stylized tailpipes left and right, Startech sport exhaust system and a rear spoiler plus 19 or 20 inches five-spoke wheels. The Startech Lifestyle interior package which will be available soon is offered for all Dodge Caliber models and include extravagant accessories such as polished aluminum door-lock pins, shifter and foot pedals plus high-quality floor mats imprinted with the Startech logo. The New BMW M3

BMW officially announced the fourth generation of it’s highly competitive M3 series. Set to be released next year, the new BMW M3 is the first M3 to be powered by a 4-liter V8 engine which produces 420 hp and has a peak torque of 400 Nm at 8400 rpm. This engine takes the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The design is sporty, the only things the BMW M3 has in common with the 3-series being the two doors, the bootlid, the windows, the headlights and rear lights. Everything else has been modified, the new M3 having two air intake openings, the function-oriented design of the front and rear air dams, the “gills” in the front side panels, the side-sills also in distinctive design, the roof made of clearly visible carbon fiber, as well as the exterior mirrors and light-alloy wheels The interior is also special, with double circular instruments with white lighting and red needles, the M leather steering whee

Shaq’s Lambo Gets Stretched

If your name is Shaquille O’Neal, you might wonder what could go wrong in your life? Well, Shaq’s latest problem was his Lamborghini Gallardo which had to be modified by Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters, so that the 7.1 feet NBA superstar could feel more confortable in it. The Gallardo received custom extended doors, roof and side windows. The challenge was also to keep the car’s “visual integrity” with the changes. Glass fabrication was a particular challenge, so the company relied on their aerospace and coachworks divisions to make sure Shaq could fit in the car. And they did a great job, and the Lambo still looks normal, even if its now 12 inches longer. I imagine Shaq having a “Pimp my ride” reaction “ohh my good, thank you X, thanks Gaffoglio for pimping my ride”. (more…)


Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Almost Ready

Mitsubishi unveiled some more close to production-model shots of the upcoming Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. The model, which was first presented in 2005 in Tokyo is getting closer to it’s production look, because it seems that the street production version Evo will be almost exactly like the one presented in this shots. The new model features Mitsubishi’s S-AWC3 traction and handling system, that integrates the control of drive torque and braking management with the four-wheel drive system, and it will be powered by a new lightweight and high-performance 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC4 engine with aluminum cylinder block and a 6-speed automated manual transmission that contributes to exceptional performance with improved fuel economy. “General Lee” sold for $9.9 million

No, its not a prank, &ldquo ;General Lee&rdquo ;, the 1969 Dodge Charger which appeared on the classic show “Dukes of Hazzard” was sold on eBay for an eye-popping $9.9 million . Yup, no mistake. The winning bid was $9,900,500.00. Impressive. The car was owned by John Schneider (Bo Duke) before starring in Warner Bros production and becoming a myth. It even has a scratch from one of the shootings. If the buyer will pay, “General Lee” will become the second most expensive car sold on eBay, after Christie’s Auction House sold a rare 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royal Sports Coupe for $11 million. Alfa Romeo Brera is a beautiful car, no question about it. And the folks at Lester made sure it gets even better. The body kit by Lester personalizes its frontal with changes to the air intake, to the inferior grill, with an overturned trapezoid shape, besides new elements, like the sculpted profiles of the new bumper. Mercedes’ factory tuner, AMG celebrates 40 years of existence. The company was founded in an old mill in Burgstall (near Affalterbach) by Hans Werner Aufrecht (A) and his partner Erhard Melcher (M); the third letter in the company name (G) came from Aufrecht’s birthplace, Großaspach. The company has grown into a supplier of exclusive high-performance cars with some 750 employees, an extensive model range comprising 18 different AMG cars, customers across the world and a brand name which has gained a high level of recognition. The turnkey in AMG’s history was 1990 when they signed the agreement with Daimler-Benz AG, with Mercedes-Benz C 36 AMG being the first jointly developed vehicle to result from the cooperation agreement, in 1993. Volkswagen Touareg Facelift By ABT

After the facelift Volkswagen gave to the Touareg in January, the German tuner ABT made some impressive modifications to the SUV. The mods include a full bodykit with front spoiler lip, side skirts, fender extensions, rear wing, rear skirts and a 4-pipe exhaust system. The Touareg also got new 19, 20 or 22-inch alloy wheels. The mechanical mods include a revised suspension and brake system and the engine(ABT offers three diesel and one petrol version, all of which come with a power increase: 2.5 TDI with 195hp (21hp more), 3.0 TDI with 270hp (45hp more), 5.0 V10 TDI with 360hp (47hp more) and finally the petrol 4.2 V8 with an output of 500hp (150hp more than the basic one). After the Mercedes -Benz McLaren SLR has been out for some time, Mercedes decided it’s time for this magnificent super-car to go topless, so they presented the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Roadster. Volkswagen Golf GTi W12 Concept

At the Wörthersee 2007 Auto Show Volkswagen unveiled its hotted up Golf GTI W12 650 concept car, a race inspired hot hatch packing a Biturbo W12 engine developing peak power of 650hp (477kW) at 6,000rpm and torque of 750Nm. The first thing that pops into your eyes is the exterior, which has been modded with a full wide-bodykit, the GTI now measures 1.88m wide, and rides on super-wide 295mm rubber at the back. These tires had to be specially engineered to fit the unique light alloy wheels. Inside, there’s Alcantara and an assortment of new switchgear and gauges located behind the transparent flip-up switch guards. The W12 Concept is powered by 6.0-liter Biturbo engine placed longitudinal directly behind the driver and the front seat passenger and has a 6-speed automatic transmission. With these, the GTI W12 650 goes from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 325 km/h. (more…)

Hamann Motorsport presented a special edition of the Ferrari 430. The car, named “Black Miracle” is looks spectacular and got a new racing car look, with new front spoiler, wide rocker panel wings, a powerful rear wing and Hamann air dams. Additionally included in the “Black Miracle“ design are finished aerodynamic parts in red, orange or yellow as well as coloured side mirrors and brake callipers, tinted rear lights, a coloured engine cover framing, dark tinted windows (including front window), bi-coloured leather furnishings (any choice of colour combinations), Hamann logos within the head rests as well as the wheels finished in the colour of the aerodynamic components and with completely covered black matt rim flange. Inside Line presented some new spy shots of the upcoming Honda Accord Sedan, photos that show that the Sedan’s design will be slightly different than the Coupe’s. Audi TT Clubsport Quattro Concept

It looks like Audi will be revealing the Audi TT Club Sport Quattro Concep at the Wörthersee tuner show in Austria. The car is a concept study based on the Audi TT Roadster and uses the Porsche 356 Speedster as inspiration for its design. The concept has no top and no rear view mirrors, instead relying on a small windshield and side mirrors that have the turn indicators embedded within. Also new is the front end, now with a huge grille. Under the hood lies a modified version of the 2.0 TFSI engine found in the S3, now developing 300hp with the help of a larger turbo. Audi’s S-tronic dual-clutch transmission handles shifting duties, while the brakes have been upgraded to carbon ceramic units. Pricing starts at a suggested retail price of $25,700 for the Nissan Pathfinder 4×2 S V6 and $27,700 for the Pathfinder 4×4 S V6. No Lincoln Crossover for the US

Ford presented the Iosis X crossover concept in Paris in 2006 and there were rumors that the car, which will be presented in the production version this fall in Frankfurt, will also be sold in the US, under the Lincoln badge. However, according to Automotive News, this project was rejected due to unfavorable currency exchange rate for the change. Ford gives up on Fiesta

It look like, with the introduction of the next generation of Ford small car, the Fiesta name will not be used any more, because, as Ford officials say, the new car will be radically changed compared with the actual Fiesta and there would be no point in keeping the name. The first Ford Fiesta was introduced 30 years ago and made history for Ford, being the best sold small car in the UK for many years. Possible names for the new Ford small car are Genesis, Isis, Phoenix and Cuga. However, there is hope for those who still want to drive a new generation of Fiesta, because a final decision hasn’t been made yet, and we could look at the new Mondeo, which is also very different to the old generation and Ford chose to maintain the Mondeo names, due to the high costs of marketing a new name. New Opel Agila announced for 2008

Opel announced that next year, probably next spring it will start selling the new generation of Opel Agila. The new “midget” from Opel looks cute (compared to the actual Agila, which can compete anytime for the world’s ugliest car) and I think women will adore this car. The mini car will have five doors and it will allow users to fold down the back seats to accommodate a class-leading 1150L of storage space. The next generation Opel Agila will come equipped with three new engines; a 1.0L 3-cylinder (65hp) and a 1.2L four-cylinder with 86hp, both petrol engines, and a 1.3L CDTi with 75 hp(like the one on the actual Corsa). An automatic gearbox option will be available for the first time but only for 1.2L versions. The engineers and designers at Kicherer presented the SL K60 Evo Black . Pretty long name, but the car worths the effort or remembering it. Thanks to the Kicherer K60 Biturbo 12-cylinder engine fitted with 605hp/445kW, the SL 600 becomes one of the most powerful roadsters around the globe. 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and 200 km/h after 14.2 seconds are values speaking for themselves, just like the electronically limited peak speed of 300 km/h. The are shod with Z-rated Continentals: 255/30 in front and 305/25 in the rear. An aero body kit consists of a front apron with a large central air intake and a new rear diffuser and deck lid and 20-inch Kicherer RS-1 alloy wheels.
