Videos Of The Week 2006-11-26 05:25:00 Earlier this evening I saw the movie "Bobby" about the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy in 1968. He was killed at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles after having just won the California primary in his run for the Presidency. I was only 12 years old at the time but remember seeing the news reports on TV. This was the fourth assassination to have taken place within a 5-year period. Pres. John F. kennedy in 1963, Malcolm X in 1965, Martin Luther King, Jr. in April 1968, then Bobby Kennedy in June 1968. While watching the film, I started thinking about how things in this country might be different if these four men had lived to carry out their dreams for the United States. Each one believed in equality and justice and brought hope to people that the future would be better for everyone. It seems that since that time in the 60's, we've haven't had any truly inspiring leaders with a real vision for the future. Many things spoke of in this movie could apply to the situation

You're not pretentious, but you're not into what some would call 'low humor' either. You'll laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist. You probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. Videos Of The Week 2006-12-11 01:52:00 XBox360, Playstation3, and the Wii -- all these new videogame systems and I'm still haven't even finished many of my original Playstation games yet ! Guess I'm falling behind a bit. I know I won't be getting a PS3 anytime soon 'cause $600 is more than my budget can handle. And these clowns in this first video bought one just to smash ! Must be nice to have that much money too waste !
Now the Nintendo Wii is more reasonably priced and I might even consider getting one when my budget allows....especially since I never owned any of the Nintendo systems. But as this next video shows, that Wii remote can be dangerous when not used carefully.
Here's a site that has pictures of other "Wii" accidents.
Oh well, maybe I'll just have to start saving to get the Playstation9 when it hits the market in the distant future, as this video shows.
Two Question Test 2006-12-13 20:06:00 Had the day off from work (yay!) because it's "Reading Day" at the university (where my crappy job is). That's what they call the day before final exams begin, so naturally I'm "reading" web pages. Came across this test and wasted some time doing it--it's only 2 questions long. It did a good job of describing me, though.

How to Get Along with Me
* Be independent, not clingy. * Speak in a straightforward and brief manner. * I need time alone to process my feelings and thoughts. * Remember that If I seem aloof, distant, or arrogant, it may be that I am feeling uncomfortable. * Make me feel welcome, but not too intensely, or I might doubt your sincerity. * If I become irritated when I have to repeat things, it may be because it was such an effort to get my Read more:Question
The More, The Merrier 2008-02-24 19:18:00 (This is an article I wrote for a website called HubPages, which I also posted to my NewsVine and Digg.com accounts)It's now official--Ralph Nader is once again running for President ! He announced his bid on today's "Meet The Press" television show. I'm sure that a lot of Democrats will be upset as they blame him for their loss to George "I'm above the law" Bush. Which is ridiculous. The Democrats lost because they lacked the courage to stand up to the tyrannical administration of Bush/Cheney and allowed them to run roughshod over the Constitution and failed to respond to the outrageous lies spread by the Republicans and their allies against their candidate, John Kerry.Even after taking back control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the Democrats have continued to bow
Tech Troubles 2008-02-03 21:55:00 I've been posting mainly political stuff lately, so I thought I'd give it a rest today and discuss my other main interest-computers and technology. And much like politics, it can be both an exhilarating and frustrating experience. Lately, mostly frustrating. About 3 weeks ago, I took my beloved laptop computer in to be repaired, as it had lapsed into a coma back at the end of August. I waited until now to take it in because I just didn't have the money to pay for any repairs that might be required. This week I got the bad news that my poor laptop was truly dead. It seems that the internal fan had quit working and the insides got "fried", as the repairman called it. The entire motherboard would have to be replaced, which would cost more than a new computer. (A moment of silence, Read more:Troubles
Ready For A Real Change ? 2008-02-01 21:31:00 There's been a lot of talk about "change" from various Presidential candidates in recent weeks, but first you need to ask one question. Which of these candidates are for REAL change, not just a slightly different version of the same old "politics as usual" ?Barack Obama is one of those who speaks of "change", The following video compares some of his views with those of the one Presidential candidate who seeks to make REAL changes to restore America's prosperity, protect our civil liberties, uphold the Constitution, end undeclared and pre-emptive wars, and restore America's prestige in the world.Join the Ron Paul Revolution...for REAL change ! Ballot Box Fraud Caught On Tape 2008-01-26 10:52:00 The following video was taken by Bev Harris of Black Box Voting.org during the recounting of votes in the New Hampshire primary election which took place recently. The"chain of custody" and secure storage of the ballots are vital to ensure an accurate recount and prevent election fraud. Watch carefully the reactions and answers given by the "election officials" to the questions asked by Bev Harris and others present. If this was a bank storing currency for the night, would they just leave it in a room–because the whole building is secure? Or would they place it in the vault? The answer is obvious–the money would go into the vault. So why aren’t ballots treated with the same respect, considering they are the currency of a free democracy? For more detailed information on this and Read more:Ballot

Let Freedom Ring ! 2008-01-24 22:10:00 Ron Paul will be in this race right through the Republican convention. Three out of four of the so-called "front-runners" are scrambling for money and can't even pay their staffs, while Ron Paul's supporters contributed almost $2 million this past Monday. He's raised close to $ 4 million just since the start of this year. After Rudy loses Florida, where he's pinned all his hopes, he'll start to fade fast. Huckabee's support has always been from a core group of evangelical Christians which won't be enough to help him in most of the upcoming primaries. John "100 years in Iraq" McCain has no chance of beating either Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama in the general election, and most Republicans will soon realize this fact. Mitt Romney's personal wealth will carry him through the rest of t Read more:Freedom

boy glues self to bed to avoid school | DATE: 2008-01-08 | PRINT | BOOKMARK MONTERREY, Mexico - A 10-year-old Mexican boy glued his hand to his bed to avoid going back to school after the Christmas break, authorities said Monday. "I thought if I was glued to the bed, they couldn't make me go to school," the boy, Diego, told AFP. "I didn't want to go, the holidays were so much fun." "I remembered my mom had bought a very strong glue," he said of the industrial strength shoe glue he used to stick his hand to the bed's metal headboard, where he stayed stuck for two hours. His mother Sandra Palacios was unable to free him and called paramedics and police to help. Diego watched cartoons while t

America's Freedoms Under Attack ! 2007-12-01 19:45:00 If you think the headline above is an exaggeration, just take the time to watch the two videos below.Does anyone really believe that the next President, whether Democrat or Republican, will actually repeal or roll back the unconstitutional powers that the Bush administration has granted to itself? Maybe the next President will choose not to use those powers, if we're lucky. But the danger that some future "leader" will decide he or she needs to invoke the authority to declare 'martial law' or round up 'unlawful combatants' (who just happen to be America
n citizens) is very real and very frightening! To those who say "it can't happen here-this is America!" or "we have free elections and a constitution", did you know that Germany had a constitution and free democratic elections (Click

giving not in eating turkey, but running around like a wild turkey in New York City. And it turned out to be a great day for it. The weather felt more like an early Spring day than late November. Temperature climbed up into the lows 60's, with some occasional sunshine breaking through the clouds. I'm very glad I decided to go, because otherwise I just would have been sitting home alone, being bored most of the day. Watched the Macy's parade, visited the World Trade Center site, spent a brief time in Central Park, went down by the waterfront (where I took the picture below), saw a movie ("The Mist"), hung around Times Square, and just enjoyed the sights and sounds of New York. This photo of the Statue of Liberty looks a bit misty; I guess because it was somewhat
It's My Birthday ! 2007-11-21 11:30:00 Today's my 52nd birthday, and since no one baked me a birthday cake, I'll just have to settle for this picture of one! :-(That--and the one I plan to buy later today!! And eat the whole thing myself! HAHAHA...I usually buy myself a birthday gift, but this year I decided to spend the money instead to take a trip to New York City tomorrow, see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (which I've never seen in person), and just hang out in the city. And who knows, maybe I'll decide to stay there, and not come home at all!I probably should use the money for the trip to put towards having my laptop computer repaired, but I've managed on this older machine for the past few months, so I guess another month or two won't kill me.
