Terrorists get theirs 2007-04-30 18:11:00 5 Rats in a Hole:LONDON — A judge sentenced five men to life in prison Monday for plotting to attack targets in London, including a popular nightclub, power plants and shopping mall, with bombs made from a half-ton stockpile of fertilizer. The trial for the first time exposed connections between the defendants and the deadly 2005 Al Qaeda-linked attack on the city's transit system. Details kept secret to ensure a fair trial showed that counterterrorism agents tracking the five men had also stumbled onto the transit plotters. And despite disturbing signs that the transit plot was in the works, the agents failed to piece them together in time to prevent the July 7, 2005 bombings that killed 52 people, testimony and official briefings during the trial showed. The revelations are at odds with statements by Tony Blair's government after the 2005 attack. Senior ministers, who a month earlier had lowered the country's alert status, said the 2005 a Read more:Terrorists
Changes 2007-05-05 00:01:00 I've made the change back to 1 sidebar and more room for the important stuff :)Let me know what you think (ideas, improvements, etc.). I went to the doc today, nothing findable in the tests they ran, gave me some pills (thinks its simply a viral thing) and can work again Monday. Luckily I'm off until Friday anyway.Hopefully I'll be back to posting tonight. About to go make me and lil bit some dinner. Thanks for stopping in and all the good wishes.** Update** When you load the page, reload it to see the changes. The old css file will be stored in your cache (if you have visited before) and show up a major open space between the sidebar and the posts **Update**
Illness 2007-05-03 18:38:00 Making some changes around here so don't get confused :)I've moved the blogrolls to their own separate page and left a link to them. I'm gearing up for a 1-sidebar page again (more room for the actual writing). All the pages I visit regularly are now on a blogroll and displayed where the old links used to be.The links with (BP) beside them are BlogPower members, all of them are not on my blogroll because a few of them havn't updated in awhile.Feeling VERY bad today had to stay home from work (on an overtime week too) and so may not get around to visiting too many people or posting much, bear with me.__________Reason to sleepFiled: illness, changes, BlogPower, LordNazh

'bad for planet' Article from: By Sarah-Kate Templeton in London May 07, 2007 12:00amHAVING large families should be frowned upon as an environmental misdemeanour in the same way as frequent long-haul flights, driving a big car and failing to reuse plastic bags, says a report to be published today by a green think tank. The paper by the Optimum Population Trust will say that if couples had two children instead of three they could cut their family's carbon dioxide output by the equivalent of 620 return flights a year between London and New York. John Guillebaud, co-chairman of OPT and emeritus professor of family planning at University College London, said: "The effect on the planet of having one child less is an order of magnitude greater than all thes

won't be the 1st muslim country with nukes:Sarkozy elected French president Sun May 6, 2007 2:15 PM ET By Crispian BalmerPARIS (Reuters) - Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy won France's presidential election on Sunday, beating his Socialist rival Segolene Royal by a comfortable margin and extending the right's 12-year grip on power.Within minutes of polls closing, Royal conceded defeat in a speech to party faithful in the heart of Paris."I hope that the next president of the republic fulfils his role in the service of all French people," she said.Forecasts by four pollsters showed Sarkozy, 52, a hard-line former interior minister, won around 53 percent of the vote in the second-round ballot and will succeed fellow conservative Jacques Chirac, who was president for 12 years.Turnout was predicted at about 85 percent.Sarkozy's face flashed up on television screens after polling stations closed at 8 p.m. (1800 GMT), signaling his victory and setting off jubilant scenes am
Violence ? 2007-05-05 14:28:00 I thought Royal (France) was simply a socialists:Talk Is Of War In French Election Battle Updated: 11:50, Saturday May 05, 2007 The right-wing French presidential frontrunner Nicolas Sarkozy has attacked Socialist rival Segolene Royal for making "warlike" remarks that his election in a run-off ballot on Sunday could trigger riots. Nicolas Sarkozy and Segolene Royal In an interview released by Le Parisien daily on its Website, Sarkozy said such comments were anti-democratic and a sign of desperation by Royal. She was trailing Sarkozy by 10 points in the last pre-vote polls. All campaigning has ended before Sunday's vote because French election rules ensure voters a "day of reflection" before the ballot.Sarkozy dismissed talk of rioting in France's tinderbox suburbs should he win the presidency."To explain that if people don't vote for one candidate there will be violence is quite simply to refuse the democratic and republican expression of opinion," he said. Illness 2007-05-12 21:28:00 I am working days this weekend (so people have seen me on their sites) but I'm not really into the blogging mood.My daughter has an E.Coli infection (none of her symptoms match the 0571 strain, so I guess I shouldn't worry to bad). Falen took her for a shot and some meds yesterday and this morning when they returned, the sample had came back for EC. She got some more meds and returned home. They told her if she gets to running another high fever (another non-symptom of 571) or feeling alot worse to see the ER, but last I spoke with them, she was fine. Said she still hurt from the shot (she hates shots) but that it did 'alot better'.So, while I'll be reading and commenting, I probably won't be posting until next week.
Bush-made Tornado 2007-05-11 23:28:00 I wasn't going to post on this because: 1) it's probably true (and would fit the path of the left) and 2) since it involves a (D) then it will be a big non-story in the media.Of course that was before the DNC started issuing C&D orders to people who have ran with it:Good Lord are those Democrats touchy! Yesterday afternoon, I posted about allegations that Howard Dean had manipulated KS Governor Sebelius into criticizing the White House about federal response to the Greensburg tornado, as did others (a Technorati search should enlighten you as to how viral the story has become in the blogosphere). The offended souls at the DNC have whittled down the reaction time to a very impressive overnight. Their lawyers sent a letter to both XM Satellite Radio (the ones who originally got the purported information) and to our buddies over at Free Republic. Both letters are not only denials of the facts as I mentioned them yesterday, but they also contain injuctions to cease and desist any furth Read more:Tornado
Identity Scam 2007-05-11 13:33:00 From email:Jury Duty ~ Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take the summons for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty, that a new and ominous kind of scam has surfaced. Fall for it and your identity could be stolen, reports CBS.In this con, someone calls pretending to be a court official who threateningly says a warrant has been issued for your arrest because you didn't show up for jury duty. The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Sometimes they even ask for credit card numbers.Give out any of this information and .... Bingo! Your identity has just been stolen. The scam has been reported so far in 11 states. Posts 2007-05-16 02:07:00 I've been abit slow on the posting this week and that will continue. I (think) have a kidney stone [ouch] and my daughter is here for a couple of days. She is doing good, they don't think the E.Coli wasn't actually the problem (it's not uncommon for E.Coli to show up in small children's systems) but another bacteria (as yet unfound). She has taken medication and had more blood tests today, nothing showed up. She is here now and no fever :)I've been to the other blogs on my list (I think I've hit everyone) and been arguing with a few (or will be when they reply [heh]).Climate Porn again from James and Pre-'03 arguing with Westminster. But the post of the day for today was penned somewhere else.Of course a 'Post of the Day' from me isn't that much, its not as good as a link from the big boys, but it is alot for me to actually declare one post better than all the rest (and yes I've read a freaking lot of posts).Today's PotD is from ... Palestinian Terror Watch 2007-05-14 16:06:00 What's the quickest way to get terrorists to commit violence? Issue a cease-fire:Earlier, sources in President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah said tensions stoked by the renewed violence with Hamas, after the ceasefire was announced late on Sunday, could lead to the collapse of the unity government within days.Is anyone out there suprised? You can have all the cease-fires and truces you want, but until the people actually adhere to them, they don't mean anything. These are the same people that launch rockets into Israel daily and claim that Israel doesn't want peace or that Israel breaks cease-fires. Along with the media doing the reporting, these people are the sole reason there is not peace in the Holy Land.Despite an Egyptian-brokered truce, two Palestinian
gunmen and two civilians caught in crossfire were killed in Gaza in clashes between the Hamas and Fatah groups. Eight people have been shot dead since a new round of violence erupted on Friday.Slow weekend in the latest 'truce' Read more:Terror

Softball 2007-05-19 03:38:00 The Tennessee Lady Vols started the NCAA tournament in high fashion tonight, downing an overmatched Furman squad 8-0 in 6 innings (mercy rule) behind the stellar pitching of Ace Monica Abbot.Abbot (43-2) had 13 strike outs versus ZERO hits in leading the Lady Vols past the 1st round. Tennessee, seeded 5th, will face North Carolina next in Knoxville. (Abbot and Rhodes combined on the perfect game)Tennessee is ranked 1st in one major poll and 2nd in the other, is now 55-5 on the season. How in the world are they seeded 5th? You would think at least some of those other 4 seeds would be better (according to the seedings) yet only Oklahoma is ahead of them in 1 poll and none have the record that the Lady Vols have.I would hate to see the NCAA Men's Basketball tourey seeded by the same people that did this. THERE GOES SOCIAL SECURITY!!! or "Why I Might Be Voting For Myself in 2008" !! 2007-05-19 00:34:00 CAUTION: STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS RANT BELOW>>>I HAVE HAD IT !!!The Senate reached a "compromise" on illegal immigration yesterday.Let me re-phrase that for you...The Senate Republicans got rolled by Teddy Kennedy and agreed to a bill granting AMNESTY to lawbreakers !!!Read about it here; The plan, which was still being finalized, allows the estimated 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the United States to come forward and receive probationary statusSo...people who are waiting in their home countries for YEARS...playing by the rules get shafted so the Senators can be seen as "doing something" on illegal immigration??? Senators, the only thing worse than doing nothing is doing something so mind-numblingly stupid and crafting a bill that effectively rewards law-breaking.This bill is so eerily similar to the 1986 bill that it is scary...Take a look at what Ed Meese (Reagan's Attorney General) has to say about the 1986 Amnesty Bill here;President Reagan set out to correct the loss Read more:Voting
Gaza Terrorism Watch 2007-05-17 22:35:00 Fighting continues in the 'cease-fire' of Gaza. More terrorists killed and even some rockets fired into Israel from some bored idiots who think the death toll isn't rising quite fast enough.Hamas and Fatah are daily proving that they have no business running anything, from a government to a bakery. The people that live in the occupied palestinian territories would do much better to start applying for citizenship to the outlying countries. Not only are the two terrorist organizations killing each other during a 'cease-fire' (oxy-moron in palespeak) now they have decided that they need a new team in the fight. The IDF had no immediate comment.Everytime that Israel responds to the Kassams fired into Sderot or anywhere else, this needs to be their response. Nothing more needs to be said. Only idiots or terrorists supporters are still clueless to whom is at fault, it won't matter what Israel said, these people will continue to blame them, so why give them any sound bytes?A Palesti Read more:Terrorism

Then came the Ice Age. By 1400, average temperatures had declined by 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit, the glaciers had crushed southward across the farmlands and harbors, and the Vikings did not survive. Such global temperature fluctuations are not surprising, for looking bac Read more:Great

For James 2007-05-24 09:40:00 15-Year-Old Outsmarts U.N. Climate Panel, Predicts End of Australian Drought Posted by Noel Sheppard on May 24, 2007 - 09:56. Last week, NewsBusters readers were introduced to Portland, Maine’s fabulous fifteen-year-old, Kristen Byrnes, whose website “Ponder the Maunder” marvelously takes on anthropogenic global warming myths including those being advanced by soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore. As will be revealed post haste, this newest – and likely youngest – member of the growing list of folks skeptical about man’s role in climate change actually walks the walk better than she talks the talk. Yet, despite her youth and precocious scientific acumen, it seems quite unlikely that she’ll be sitting down with Matt Lauer or Diane Sawyer any time soon to discuss her research concerning one of the most popular subjects on the media’s front-burner. Why? Because a prediction that she made last month concerning Australia's drought has Read more:James

Robert Letourneau, R-Derry, voted to recommend killing the bill, joined by Sens. Bob Clegg, R-Hudson, and Betsi DeVries, D-Manchester. Committee vice chairman Sen. Peter Burling, D-Cornish, and Sen. Slicking on another layer of lipgloss, Selena Maria slings her bag over her shoulder and struts into the bar. A sea of dark, handsome heads turn to ogle her. Jaws drop and good-looking men raise their eyebrows or move in to offer her a drink. But Selena walks on by. She only has eyes for one man. He’s waiting for her in a dark corner. He’s not one of the handsome guys in sharp suits. He’s not even ‘average’. He’s bald and podgy, with a pock-marked face, and is easily the ugliest man in the room. Watch what you write? 2007-05-27 19:21:00 Blogger Sued for Publishing Stories About Muslims linked to Terror If the Muslims get away with this "test case", it will shut us all down. The intrepid blogger and PI (and valued Atlas source) has been sued for publishing stories about Muslims with ties to Islamic terror. News stories already published in the mainstream media. Warner obviously hit a nerve. This is the next nefarious step in the litigation jihad. Warner must prevail. This wreaks of CAIR. Their tactics are written all over it. No one was injured but one went into shock when the Kassam hit. One of the rockets hit a Sderot home that had been damaged by a Kassam in the past. The residents of the house were in Jerusalem when the rocket struck. Earlier, IAF planes bombed Hamas installations in the Gaza Strip town of Deir el-Balah Sunday night. immigration? The late Sonny Bono, a Republican congressman from California once said, “What’s to debate? It’s illegal.”I tip my cap to Stacy McCain of the Washington Times for that quote.Of course, the boss expects a little longer interpretation of the news than that.It is not like Bono was a callous millionaire. His parents were poor Sicilian immigrants. He waited tables, worked in construction and drove a truck before leaving Detroit for Hollywood.Bono understood the issue better than Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., who has been pushing immigration “reform” for more than 40 years now.Kennedy was behind the 1965 immigration reform act, which eliminated the national origins quotas.
